what does methylin do

I have even been given Methylin to try and help get me reved up. Does not help either! So, I do not know what else they could possibly have in their bag of tricks for folks like us...But, I hope it is something and soon ;0 Please let me know if you come up w/ something that helps and I shall do the same. I am Thankful for all the "Up" time I have and the bit of energy to go with it.

Does anyone else think ritalin is the devil? I was taking 120mg / day and it did nothing but make me sleep. I couldn't function on the stuff. Missed work and everything else. Anyone else had this kind of effect from taking ritalin / methylin / methylphenidate?

i got a new dr and he canged me from adderall to methylin generic ritalin....do they have kinda same ingrediaents..it to be used for depresssion but he said i have some add symptoms also on on xanax and prozac,,he is upping my prozac...

My 11 year old son has the following symtoms after a streptosyme infection found in his blood in Nov 2008, and after taking methylin for 5 days in Dec 2008. People who take meds without understanding what is going on are really open for anything to happen. I do have the feeling that you are still a bit unsure as to why you are taking the ritalin and its possible effects on you. That is something that you really need to have your doctor explain to you. By the way, he does need to know what you just said. Its possible that the afternoon dose is to high, or that a extended release version would be softer and better for you.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD with impulsivity at 2 years old. I started medication 2 years ago and he has been on 3mL of Quillivant for the past year. I give it at 7:45 and by 2:30 it has worn off. It has been great and so far the only side effect I have seen is a lack of appetite. At 2:30, the impulsivity starts again so the doctor prescribed him methylin 5mL and that doesn't work at all and upsets his stomach. Has anyone had s similar experience?

Oh, one more thing. When my son is anxious or upset sometimes he does still do the chewing. But, this is not a continuous thing and is not excessive. I guess it is a defense mechanism.

what does synthriod do? other than regulate your energy. what other functions does it help control in the body. or feelings, in the body. want to know, starting on it soon after total tyroid removal. 6 days after now. thanks for all info.

Check out if he is upset by anything in his life has anything new happened , a move a new Baby ,a loss of any Family member,very often there have been happenings that have triggered the behavior, what do his Teachers say, does he get on with them , does he like school.No point in punishing him unless you know what has caused it .

I am the mother of two and the step-mother to one. My step-child is 10 years old, and has been pooping on himself off and on since he was 5 years old. I am at my wits end, I don't know what else to do...He will go months without doing it, and than out of no where start again. We take away his electronics, toys, etc...anything that will punish him. We have threatened to put him in diapers, etc. We don't know what else to do.

You, by yourself can not do anything without him wanting to do it. You can haul his behind to an NA meeting, you can get him into rehab, you can even get him to my clinic and I will get him physically clean, but without his commitment and his desire to stay clean, all of it is useless. Suboxone is just another opiate, it does work for some, but again, a person needs to want to quit. Your brother does not.
