Sounds like an overactive thyroid, possibly due to over-functioning nodules. Hyperthyroidism does aggravate sugar and blood pressure. The next step in most cases would be an I-123 uptake/scan to see which nodules are over-functioning and evaluate if any nodules needs an FNA biopsy.

Do you mean low blood sugar? That is often related to our food and was thinking this was why your midwife recommended more frequent meals. I'd see an OB if this persists.
