Common Questions and Answers about What does hormonal acne look like

acne

Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar f tn I know that I have the HSV-1, because I've had it since I was a kid. Well, at the beginning of my pregnancy, a cold sore popped up. About a day before it popped up, I had given oral sex to my boyfriend. It's been about 8 months since then, and 2 small bumps popped up on his penis a couple days ago. We aren't sure what they are, but thinking back about the cold sore, I could have given it to him. Anyways, the bumps don't look like the pictures I see online.
Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Have you girls seen that movie yet? There is a part that a lady has a hormonal breakdown about pregnancy and I think I'm right behind her haha. I so achy now and tired, can't sleep cuz my body goes numb or aches no matter what position I'm in. I get up 5 times a night to pee. I've peed myself on way to many occasions haha. (even on the dr exams table) my face is started to look like I'm 14 with all the acne.
Avatar n tn i have large pores on my nose and cheeks and the areas in between that look almost like blackheads but not as solid because its just dirty oil. i can squeeze them out relatively easy but their are at least a hundred of them on my face. i have tried many difference face washes and the dirty pores dont ever go away. i was considering getting an igea sucker to suck them all out but i want to know if anyone else had this problem.
Avatar m tn In my opinion i would wait it out because all the reviews ive read about hormonal acne and not cystic acne have said that it took at least 3 months to clear their skin completely.

Avatar f tn Hi. Apologies for the extensive response in advance but I feel everything that follows is pertinent. Sounds identical to what I'm suffering with; literally developed relentless cysts on my jawline and chin a few months ago after only having to endure a minor hormonal breakouts beforehand.

Avatar n tn I would like to know what has developed on both sides of my neck and is extending to the back of my neck and to my shoulders. They are skin colored, soft, round and sometimes I feel heat from the inside of them. They are slightly raised. I am wondering if they may be cholesterol or hormonal related?
Avatar f tn I have developed several side effects due to over masterbation like acne, sunken eyes, bony wrists, hair loss etc. How do I recover from the above stated problems.
Avatar f tn Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.
1388445 tn?1289267388 That is interesting about hormonal imbalances! How would that be caused? it seems like at 26 years (and older) the hormonal stuff would be over, like that is mostly in your teens and yearly 20's maybe. recently my husband had taken on a very hard work out/excersize routine for boxing. He's doing really well and he has really gotten in shape, physically. I wonder if the change in his mucles and body could have thone hormones off for acne?
Avatar f tn I don`t think it was normal when I grew up but nowadays our environment is bombarded with estrogen in the food chain and estrogen-like chemicals. I do see that adolescents of both sexes look very "feminized" but it usually seems to straighten itself out. If you are worried, I would get his hormonal balance checked. The whole situation of hormonal disruptions is pretty disturbing but that`s a whole separate debate.
7172456 tn?1403092946 I had very clear porcelain skin and then got pregnant and I looked like a hormonal teen lol but it went away and cetaphil helps it to not look as bad.
Avatar f tn I am overweight and have had PCOS for quite a few years, but this spot seems different than any of the discolored areas I have which are associated with this condition as it is more black and blue, like a typical bruise. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this and how to get rid of it? Thank you.
