Avatar n tn This kind of over prescribing to individuals that do not actually need AD medication is what results in many of the horror stories you hear. The reality is that any Antidepressant medication can have disasterous results for anyone that takes them and doesn't actually need them. Not all, but the vast majority of bad reports you read regarding SSRI and other AD medications are from people that were trying to take these medications to attempt to eliminate real problems in their life.
Avatar n tn Tired/Fatigue, Bad Memory, Depressed, Cold Feet, Shortness Of Breath, Headaches, Frequent urination. My doc said he wants to try this medication out for a month and see if it helps, if it does continue for another 7-8 months. Can anybody give me advice? is this medication any good? what to expect? do these symptoms clearly suggest Depression? I thought I had a underactive thyroid since it runs in the family.
Avatar m tn I took the paroxetine that did well for a while then the cipralex that does not do anything to me is so confused. After that I did insomnia, the doctor giving me the zolpidem which obviously and that made me sick I am very scared.
Avatar f tn I know what you're talking about. When you have a panic attack it can drain you for days. You really have to try to keep up your strength though by drinking fluids and eating.
Avatar f tn What would be your suggestion for how to switch from the Paxil to cipralex? I know that 20mg Paxil equals about 10mg cipralex. What rate would you decrease + increase? Perhaps you could give me a rough outline of how to make the transition? Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn I've been on cipralex 20mg for about 1.5 yrs, before that was on 40mgs of celexa.. I'm 37, about 190lbs 5'7".. Anyway my question is, my dr prescribed me ability 2.5mgs that I'm scared to start because of all the scary side effects I've read :-(. I guess I should also let u no that I suffer from severe anxiety/ severe depression disorder.
Avatar m tn 2 years ago it all started out off the blue when I was in nait for my first year off welding. it started with continuous panic attacks for no reason couple times a week. then the attacks slowed down and turned into just anxiety were I constantly worry and started having muscle aches, digestive problems, insomnia, head aches, loss off concentration, short off breath and very very tired and more but up to date now. my breathing is sooo out off wack all day short off breath.
574118 tn?1305135284 I just need to save my work now. So within the above premises and the meds i am taking, does this sound logic what the pdoc said. Don't fear of any responsibility on your part because I shall think it over, JUST think with me fast please, WHAT DO U THINK?
Avatar f tn Namaste, Cipralex is mainly used for treating depression. SSRIs work by preventing serotonin from being reabsorbed back into the nerve cells in the brain. This helps prolong the mood lightening effect of any released serotonin. In this way, Cipralex helps relieve depression, panic and fear. In clinical trials, cipralex has been found to be an effective SSRI in the treatment of depression and also in relieving some of the symptoms of fear and panic.
Avatar f tn hi, i've been on cipralex for 2 years, and the good thing abt it is it is not addictive. you can eventually come off the medication. but be sure not to stop it abruptly. need doctor s advice on how to come off it.
Avatar f tn It's meant to be a better vision of escitalopram as I'm in the uk they don't do lexapro it's cipralex here I'm on day 5 and no better yet just want things to start working really iv been told up to 2 weeks but can be as soon as 6-8 days the only side effect is the insomnia and not being able to sleep that's why iv been given zopiclone for that but don't want to have to depend on it for a long time, iv been through all this before on many different anti depressants wit
Avatar f tn I feel aweful - very dizzy, confused, heavyness over eyes, bad eyesight, sensitive hearing. Actually many of these symptoms I had before starting Cipralex - my doctor thought Cipralex would help. I also have a history of complicated migraine, I have not taken Sibelium since December 2008. I am wondering if maybe the symptoms I am experiencing are migraine related - and therefore Cipralex is not the answer. Should I be restarted on Sibelium?
3178266 tn?1344536316 Don't you have a doctor prescribing you these meds? Almost all of them are contraindicated for pregnant women, though given how hard it is to quit them that doesn't mean quitting is workable. The companies who make mood regulating drugs are all being sued right now for birth defects they didn't warn anyone about. What you need to do is talk to your doctor, carefully and thoughtfully weigh the risks, and make an informed decision.
1001742 tn?1252685847 Cipralex is an anti-anxiety pill. Escitalopram belongs to the group of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It works by increasing levels of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. Increased serotonin levels can lead to an improved mood.
Avatar f tn Everybody tells that even after upping a dose, you have to wait about 4-6 weeks bit the doctor said that with new med like cipralex you know how you are going to feel after almost two weeks... ????? Is there any experience where people took a med that worked just okay the first time but worked better the second time around? Could that be possible? I just hope it will cause I am a little discourage!
Avatar f tn I just realized that Cipralex and Lexapro are the same meds. I used to take Lexapro so I know exactly what your talking about. Yes, I do really think it's your meds causing the dizziness. I had it really bad when I was taking this med. I hated the dizzy rush feeling when I was drifting off to sleep. Do let your Dr know about what's going on though.
574118 tn?1305135284 extra effort of restlesness so this is the result, or a side effect of cipralex. My parents phoned both pdocs, they said i could be tired. But tired from what if i am at home not at work. Upon asking is it from cipralex they said not from cipralex Any clues?
