Avatar f tn First of all, seek out a biological or holistic dentist. Next, avoid any and all commercial tooth pastes. They ALL include very harsh ingredients (especially ALL whitening tooth pastes), plus systemic toxins that do much harm in the long run, and not just to your teeth, gums, and mouth tissues. Avoid all tooth pastes that contain silica or hydrated silica (strong abrasive, wears down dentin along the gum line which is the major cause for pain in sensitive teeth).

Avatar f tn If all is well after you've finished your antibiotics, I would take a "wait and see" attitude. There is absolutely no reason to jump into getting a root canal at this point, the abcess could just be the result of trauma to the area surrounding the tooth. There probably wasn't any reason to give you antibiotics before now since there were no signs of infection, and you don't want to take antibiotics unless you really need them.
Avatar n tn I had a root canal nine months ago on my upper left molar (#16), about 19 months after my then-dentist nicked the root of the tooth during a filling. A permanent crown was placed six weeks after the root canal. Since the crown was put on, I have sometimes had very short, infrequent episodes of mild pain in the tooth when biting, typically caused by food getting trapped by the tooth, that always resolve themselves.
Avatar m tn I had a root canal done in November of 2007 on a previously crowned tooth (upper, behind canine tooth). It is still a bit touchy when I press on it and more painful when I press on my gum above that tooth. This newly root-canaled tooth is next to this area on my upper palate which is causing me concern. Could the root canal be causing this to the hard palate? I am an ex-smoker and always worried about repercussions.
Avatar f tn can you please suggest me, I have few questions to ask my mom she is around 42 years of age now last week she had nausea and vomitting at night and after that she was ok but again after a week she suffered from same symptom along with fatigue and she had sensitive tooth and gum changed in to mild purple mixed with mild black color she has no stomach pain but still I am very upset that she may suffering from early stage of cancer so can you please suggest me is this a symptom of cancer ......
Avatar m tn 89 and a TSH, Sensitive of a 4.19. What does it all mean? My GP put me on Snythroid 50 mg once daily. Thank you in advance for caring, taking the time to share!
Avatar f tn The issue is the tooth is sensitive when i push on the inside of the cusps, and I worry about a crack. After doing this if i push the other way I hear a slight crackling noise, as if there is a crack and the tow sides of the tooth are pushing back together. I am so worried that I have a split tooth.
Avatar m tn s saying 3 months was conclusive.I would think a 4th generation HIV test is more sensitive then a 3rd generation.
Avatar n tn Do you mean remove the crown, do a redo and put a new crown on it? A temp first? of course...
Avatar m tn A root canaled tooth is generally not responsive to thermal stimulus. if a non-vital tooth does respond to thermal or elctrical stimulus, the possibility is neuritis.
Avatar m tn He performed a sensitivity test by using ice. (Previously, about 4 months ago that molar tooth was sensitive to cold and specialist recommended a root canal. Did not go through with it because it only hurt when I had cold cold drinks in my mouth) I had no reaction to the ice from the dentist and so he then took out a device that would transmit an electric current through the tooth. I felt nothing. He recommended also a root canal. He gave me antibiotics and pain relief medicine.
Avatar n tn different cements, blowing air on the tooth, pressing a permanent crown on a tooth, dilling on a tooth, even picking off temporary cement all inflame the nerve (pulp). Inflammation can be reversible or irreversible. In your case, My plan would be to wait a few more weeks. If there is no improvement, I would remove your crown (I would cut it off if i had to) and make you a new temp and then a new crown that I would cement with a cement that has a sedative mixed into it.
Avatar f tn I think as long as he is moving it could just be from having sex, and when I spotted it was after I got checked my doctor said it could be from a UTI. I got checked and didnt have one but your a little extra sensitive down there and it most likely is going to have a little spotting when you add some pressure down there.
Avatar n tn A friend of mine describes his dental problem, as if all his teeth were "shaking", after he has been outside in the cold. He also has quite extensive pain, and he has to "temper" his mouth for app. one hour, before he can eat or drink anything. What can this be? Some kind of a problem with the dental nervs???
Avatar n tn On the contrary, pulpitis tooth is sensitive to cold stimulus.
Avatar m tn Now what does that mean....my friend is really nervous. What is this procedure used for and what if he does not go for it? Was the doc serious when he said that go for the procedure or else lose your teeth. Please advice fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Avatar f tn In December of 2009, I went for a cleaning and the dentist suggested getting a crown on a tooth with a large filling. He stated that there was no need for a Root Canal. After the procedure, I continued having pain and ended up having to have a root canal. One month later, I was back in the office with severe pain. After many visits with no resolution. My jaw swelled up and I had to have the tooth removed. This required me to get a bridge.
Avatar n tn The tooth is very sensitive to cold and a little sensitive to heat. (I have sensitive teeth anyway.) How long can a tooth be sensitive like this? 2. When I eat cold or hot things, it seems like the sensitivity radiates to my jaw. But I can't tell if this is because my jaw is so sore or because of the tooh. But I also have pain in my jaw at random times that is true TMJ pain. I also have a sinus infection, which makes my jaw hurt too! 3.
Avatar m tn i have a tooth that cracked a few years ago and it didnt hurt so i thought nothing about it. it finally broke more and about 2 months ago it started getting very sensitive to hot/cold or anything sweet. i went to a dentist and he told me to take antibiotics (which i didnt) and go see another dentist to have a root canal done. im so busy with work and my family i waited another few weeks and went and saw another dentist.
