Common Questions and Answers about What does a concussion headache feel like

concussion

Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse. I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
Avatar f tn about 12 days after being hit,,,she had me follow her finger kinda tickled my feet,,,and told me she feels i maybe had a mild concusion and to give it another week and if i still feel odd she will do a cat scan, and to try not to worry.Easier said than done..........I have no head pain...It was a PVC pole that feel down and hit me in the head..........
559187 tn?1330782856 Hi, I just wanted you to be aware that what you could be suffering from could be a concussion. I have had the lp headache and a concussion and I can tell you they are identical in the way they hurt. I do not know if you hit your head but that isn't even necessary. If you were jerked around at all your brain still can be rattled in your skull and that is all that is required to develop a concussion.
Avatar n tn I do not have any sort of cognitive issues though. Could this be a concussion? I do get migraines, and this headache does feel a bit like a migraine, but I am worried because I did hit my head. Should I be concerned? I do not feel awful right now, other than the headache. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state. I went to a concussion specialist who performed an impact test on me and diagnosed me with a concussion. A couple weeks later I got cleared but soon after I started experiencing severe sensitivity to light and my vision seemed to worsen.
Avatar f tn s what my reflexes believed were happening) from above and was about to hit me in the face. This type of flash does not occur in groups, so once I get a light like this, I don't get another for months. I went to my optometrist when the first type of lights started as we thought I could have a retinal tear, but my eyes were dilated and inspected and they said everything was fine.
956292 tn?1334054869 sorry to hear that you had such a bad day. i'm also a workaholic (maybe i should say a studyholic) it's a great way to immerse yourself and just forget about life's other problems for a few hours. i hope that going back on the meds helps i also didn't have the greatest of weeks. last sunday i managed to fall head first off my bed and i actually got a concussion from that so i've also had a headache and nausea though i doubt it was anywhere as bad as yours.
Avatar f tn A chinese boading ball, which is a meditation ball fell and hit the right side of my head. Yes, it really hurt and I was dizzy afterwards. It's been two days since then and my symptoms are dizziness, drowsiness, tired, headache, the area isn't tender but it does ache from what feels like the inside, lethargy. Is it serious? Do I have to go to the hospital right away?
237053 tn?1258828426 well i hope i will get help here. before 1 month i got a hit of cork while playing badminton in my left eye. it was very painful to move the eye and everything was blurry and very dim sight. i went to an optometrist and he didn't give me an MRI. he said that an inflammation happened and gave me medicine for 10 days. within 10 days my sight appeared almost 20/20 but my colour and contrast remained unchanged.
Avatar m tn Was intoxicated. Had a huge lump. Went to Urgent Care 3 days later, no need for a CT scan just a mild concussion. Did not have any symptoms beside bruised head. Next day, I was very, very dazed. Felt like I was in a dream Day after that had some mild headaches. Went to my regular GP 3 days later. Again, no need for CT scan just had a mild concussion. I have severe anxiety.
Avatar f tn My older son (now 14) has had 3 concussions, all mild (even though twice he was knocked unconscious, two came from hockey and one came from a fall at the playground.) My younger son (now 10) had what they thought was a mild concussion after a fall from a fence. Initially they said no sports for 3 days but a week later he would come home from baseball crying about a headache and vomiting.
Avatar f tn Will this go away soon by itself or do I have to worry about a random bleed or episode that could be life threatening? Ive never had a concussion before. Also is the pressure i feel in my head normal? Its affecting my nose, forehead and ears...
Avatar m tn t say I have a headache like getting your bell rung, but lets just say i felt a lot better before I sat down. A little nervous this maybe a concussion although it sounds practically impossible. I've had a concussion before but that was 2 years ago. Now I'm not entirely if I should go workout and run today. Advice? Suggestions?
Avatar m tn Sorry, I get twinges 3-4 times of a headache above eye and like a pinch for a second near where I hit my head. I also have had horrible sleep, I wake up with anxiety.
435918 tn?1204737341 I was involved in a car accident exactly 3 weeks ago. I was hit HARD from behind, then my car ran into the vehicle in front of me. I was diagnosed with cervical strain, but followed up with my primary MD because my head hurt so bad I could not hold it up. He ordered a CT of my head which came back normal, as well as giving me a prescription of Percocet.
Avatar f tn A little over two months ago I had a concussion without the loss of consciousness. Nothing showed up on a ct scan. Ever since my vision has worsened, I have had horrible headaches, and today experienced the worst headache. I was vomitting and could not see straight. I also had tingling in my arms, hands, and feet. I also feel a numbness in my face and a strong pain in my neck.
Avatar n tn It sounds like it could be a concussion - he will slowly heal if he does not see a doctor. I got hit in the head with a softball a few years ago and was very dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache. I did not go to the doctor.... found out 2 months later (after the feeling was starting to come back and I got black eyes) that I did indeed have a mild concussion and had to go for a CT Scan for possible nerve damage. I still do not have a lot of feeling in the spot that I got hit.
Avatar n tn Yes it does sound like a concussion. I would see your doctor right away or go to the ER to make sure there is no serious damage. They will probably do a CT scan or MRI.
Avatar f tn I told my dad about my headache and he just says in a stress headache. I’m not sure what to do? I live in Canada so the cost is not a problem and there is a hospital nearby that has a separate walk in clinic. I don’t have a mother so don’t bother. How do I convince my dad I should go? I just want to make sure it’s nothing more serious.
Avatar n tn Her doc put her on amitriptline and it seamed to take away the headaches. She finally went 15 days symptom free just to have a very big headache causing her to have an eye twitch on 3/18. She said the pain was an 8 on a scale from 1 - 10 and it was at the temple. The headache eventually went away but the twitch is still there. She had a CT scan on the 6th and it came out normal. Should I be concerned about the twitch or the length of recovery.
Avatar f tn Some can be serious, and you faint, but maybe when you went sledding, you had a headache, and then hitting your head again might have given you a very weak concussion. I would go to the doctor, I don't think it needs to get worse...
Avatar f tn does a hit in the head followed by nausea, vertigo headache and diarrhea after 24 hours need to be examined and how serious it can be?
Avatar f tn t be a good partner to my husband, a good Mamaw to my precious grandbabies, or even feel like a human at this point. I have other symptoms but this is already so long. Any ideas?
