1907180 tn?1329450777 The unfortunate reality is that most pregnant women will have some degree of failure in their leg veins at least during the pregnancy. This is due to multiple factors that all produce challenges. The volume of circulating blood increases substantially. Hormones that allow the uterus to stretch and expand also allow leg veins to do the same, making the valves in these vessels incompetent.
Avatar f tn The doctor said that it's normal during pregnancy. It isn't varicose veins, it's just more blood flowing down there.
Avatar f tn This is my fourth pregnancy I will have to term. I know that every pregnancy is different. I know all about hemorrhoids, varicose veins in the legs as well as spider veins. I didn't realize until this pregnancy that u can get vericose veins in ur vaginal area. I was wonder if other mom have had this or have this now.
1840402 tn?1355432565 It sure sounds like a varicose vein to me. Unfortunately those are super common during pregnancy. As long as your not feeling pain in your leg I wouldn't worry about it :) You could always call your doctors office just to be 100% Try not to worry, I got them too during my 1st pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Anyone else having trouble with them? They run in my family and I got them for the first time halfway through my first pregnancy and now in my second pregnancy they are "flared" up. I also started back at work do I'm on my feet a lot. I wear compression socks which help but is there anything else I can do to relieve the pain?
Avatar f tn Varicose veins in or near the penis is rather rare. The varicose veins themselves are formed mainly in the legs, mostly because the valves in the veins do not function properly. Are you sure it is varicose veins? You may want to read up a bit more about these to ensure your husband has varicose veins - here's a comprehensive resource on vv - http://www.legpain.guide/g/52/ Hope this helps, all the best!

Avatar n tn Varicose veins during pregnancy aren't permanent, but some may linger after pregnancy. The best way to keep them from becoming permanent is to exercise, such as walking and stretching. The key is not to become stagnant, sit or lay around, causing a lack of circulation. The best to you and your pregnancy!
Avatar f tn Hmmm I have never heard of that and now I want to know why and what causes it. I wonder if that is related to adenomyosis. Let me ask around and see what I can find and yay!!! You don't have Endo that is great!
Avatar f tn Seems like we share a few common things besides varicose veins. Only discovered I was preg at 14 weeks and am 27 weeks now and wld really want vbac but read somewhere saying they usually start inside so was also worried about obstruction of baby.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643. Basically, weak or damaged valves lead to varicose veins. Being obese is a risk factor and losing weight would likely help a multitude of things in your life. That's never easy but something that would be very beneficial to work on. Avatar f tn Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose, but the veins most commonly affected are those in your legs and feet. That's because standing and walking upright increases the pressure in the veins of your lower body. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more-serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems. Treatment may involve self-care measures or procedures by your doctor to close or remove veins.
Avatar f tn No, they are more of a cosmetic issue, but then to pop up during pregnancy because our bodies are pumping extra blood through our system.
Avatar f tn Sclerotherapy is another common treatment for both spider veins and varicose veins. In this procedure with the help of a needle a liquid chemical is injected into the vein. This causes swelling in vein and collapsing .This stops the flow of blood, and the vein turns into scar tissue. This procedure can be done without general anesthesia and does not lead to inference in the daily activities. Laser techniques can help in curing small varicose veins. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor.
Avatar n tn I used them to try to cut back on swelling during my first pregnancy and they helped with that. I've heard they are great for varicose veins, but can't say from personal experience. I've seen them at CVS, I'm pretty sure.
Avatar n tn It's so relieving to hear of others w/ this... I've been really concerned. My pain feels like a deep ache in the labia, inside, and clitoris and has always been relieved by orgasm till one instance recently when it worsened after intercourse and was almost unbearable. Then during an arousing dream the pain woke me up and was awful too. Thankfully, things seem better today but I still don't know what it is. Much like others mine came on a couple years after my first child was born.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum! We're glad you are here and appreciate your question. So, while it may not be a varicose vein, it can still be what they call a 'bulging vein'. " Bulging veins are prominent, enlarged veins that often appear blue or purple. Avatar f tn With my first pregnancy I developed many spider veins on my legs. This pregnancy i have developed some varicose veins. I have one that is protruding on my left inner calf and is right on top of bad spider vein. It is tender to the touch and i can feel a little discomfort walking up and down stairs. Is this normal or could it actually be a blood clot? It is not warm to the touch just painful and tender.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for the question. We're sorry your wife has this concern. This might be varicose veins which is a fairly common condition and usually simply cosmetic rather than of a health concern. Not always though, but often. Here's some information on it. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/varicose-veins/symptoms-causes/syc-20350643 An important question is if your wife has any pain or discomfort?
Avatar f tn I wanted to know if varicose veins will diminish after pregnancy especially in genitals?
Avatar f tn I'm 32 weeks and recently noticed my vagina is very swollen, especially on one side. From what I've been reading (I have an appointment with my OB early next week) I have vulvar varicose veins. Does anyone else have this or have had them? I'm afraid they will get worse and won't go away.
Avatar n tn 2mm), raised, red bulging spot on my glans that looks like it is filled with blood, from a scrape or scratch when I was very young. Last year I had sclerosing of varicose veins in my leg, which worked very well. This is purely a vanity question -- might this glans blood spot, not really a vein I'm sure, be amenable to injection with a sclerosing solution (sclerotherapy) to shrink it, or would the risk outweigh the cosmetic benefit?
