Common Questions and Answers about What causes gas to exert pressure

gas

Avatar n tn My vision is still blurred and I still have the gas bubble in my visiion. Now the gas bubble seems to have formed a smaller bubble that is attached. Since no one has told me how this bubble will be reabsorbed, I don't know if this is normal or what to expect. Also, I am now told I have a cataract on that eye.
Avatar n tn It may sound silly but am I having mini heart attacks? I ask because for about as long as I can remember I would get these sudden sharp pains that wouldn't last very long in my chest near my heart. And the only thing I would have to do is press down on my chest under my breast to stop it. But it is a concern of mine, I've gone to the hospital & asked the doctor what could it be and to no avail....any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I would like answers other than it’s going to be okay. If I could figure out what causes I maybe can avoid those things. I have read previous post and see some people are going through the same thing as me.
Avatar f tn How far along are you? I am a teacher too, and at nearly 36 weeks, am feeling pretty run down. I have been trying to plan my classes so I can get some rests during the day - e.g., staggering tests/quizzes/lectures in different courses for different days so I can have a bit of down time. I'm not sure possible that is as a special ed teacher but you should have an aide or two, right? I also noticed I have to eat more regularly during pregnancy.
584851 tn?1220272833 Heart attack symptoms vary so much. There are even "silent" heart attacks. Most often people refer to heart pain as pressure. Most of the time when I have gas, it feels sharp and comes and goes. If you're really concerned, talk it over with your doctor. You're at that age (don't you love it when they say that?) that a cardiac workup might be good. A decent EKG and perhaps a stress test. Good job keeping the BP and cholesterol down. That's hard to do.
Avatar n tn With abnormal blood sugar levels in the morning the osmolality of tisues are affected, which causes fluid to exert pressure on nerves, causing numbness. After breakfast, as the sugar levels improves, the pressure relaxes and the numbness disappears. Thus, the first tests to take with "morning numbness" (assuming it is not positional are blood glucose and an hbcA1c. The "trembling" is also a flag for a blood sugar disorder.
Avatar n tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Can you please list all of the foods you have tried eliminating. Also, have you tried a probiotic?
Avatar n tn I have lots of gas and nausea will go away if I drink pepsi or something that causes me to burp to relieve the gas but the pressure stays. I thought it might be gallbladder but I do not have the pain that radiates to back and shoulder area, just pressure to the right side of my stomach. Sometimes it feels as though my stomach is contracting. Scared to eat anything because it seems to make it worse at times, other times it seems to make it better, Any info is appreciated.
Avatar f tn Not only that, but if I put pressure on the bump/area it causes a tingling sensation only in that finger tip. If I push on it with my thumb it just feels like a more knobby knuckle (on only the right side) however even that little pressure tingles my finger tip. I noticed it after I had been playing an ungodly amount of video games..
341551 tn?1266980730 i had right rib pain as well.............. i seriously believe its just gas..... Gas causes all sorts of pain everywhere.
17020225 tn?1455749597 I am passing gas from both ends. Plus have the pressure in my chest. Actually went to the ER the other day for pressure and squeezing in my chest. All cardiac tests were normal. So they said it was most likely linked to the GERD that I have. I do take pantoprazole for it but it doesn't exactly make it better. I wake up sometimes gasping for air pretty bad which is supposedly related to the acid coming coming up into my throat.
Avatar m tn Along with all this I have had stomach digestion, weird bowel movements, stomach pain pressure, and gas problems that I will explain to a minimum since this is neorology forum. I talked to a primary care doctor and they dont think anything is wrong with me, what specialist should I see? a neurologist? or cardio related or both? or other? cus this could be brain or heart related I think.
Avatar m tn Make sure you don't exert too much pressure while blowing your nose, while cleaning it. There is a close connection between ears nose and eyes.
Avatar m tn I went through this same thing and it was IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). It makes you feel like you have to "go" but you don't. I know how frustrating this is, but there is medication for IBS and you should suggest to your doctor that he try it on you. My husband just went through this and I had to have him ask his doctor about the IBS.....he had just had a colonoscopy so we knew there was nothing wrong.

Avatar n tn t exert myself physically to much or my body will give out on me and I wont be able to move around because of feeling lightheaded and dizzy. If I exert myself to much I will pass out possiblely. A couple times I fell to the ground on my butt. I have never had the digestive problems until the past three months. I have been to the GI specialist. I'm also anemic slightly. Some people said it sounds like I could possible have Diabetes. I don't know if I should get tested for that.
Avatar n tn Eating makes everyone's heart beat faster. It's needed to send more blood into the GI tract for absorption and to move the muscles that move the food around. Some people experience higher heart rates for some reason. I've never seen anyone come up with a solid explanation. If you want, you could see your doctor to get a workup just to be sure. 160 is high just for eating though. As for the buttermilk, are you sure you aren't lactose intolerant?
Avatar f tn Synthetic Progesterone compounds or progestogens decrease ‘good’ HDL cholesterol, may increase blood pressure, contribute to mood disorders, and may exert effects of male hormones such as increasing FACIAL HAIR GROWTH." http://ezinearticles.com/?
Avatar m tn t think the buckle will exert too much pressure to cause me discomfort as my eye pressure is normal. He thought that I am too sensitive and thinking too much cause too much tense. Plus, I had an MRI recently and no inflammation was detected. Dr Hagan : the most important is : if the buckle really exert too much pressure to my eye (or some cilary nerve), are there any methods in the medical world to correct it. This is something I need to know before I go to see my surgeon.
Avatar f tn Baby might be sitting high and compressing your lungs a bit? Try not to exert yourself so much that you have trouble breathing. If you're concerned, talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn It seems to vary in intensity and I cannot seem to pin down what causes it. I cut out caffeine from my diet almost entirely, cheating every so often, but when I cheat there seems to be no correlation to the severity of the headache. One night it got so bad I felt as though my face was going numb and I went to the ER again. They did a CT scan, basically told me it looked great, everything was fine, and sent me home. Then there is the neck tightness...
Avatar n tn t bring myself to type that word because I have emetophobia - look that up, and what I want to know is, does anyone else deal with this? I'm curious to know if, since I have had traumatic experiences due to "stomach issues" (aka vom**ing), could that be related to my inability to burp? Just curious what all you folks out there have to say.
Avatar f tn I get like that all the time. I can't go a single day without feeling like I'm going to pass out. I have low blood pressure as it is and being pregnant made that a thousand times worse. Make sure to check your blood pressure. If u feel light headed sit down immediately. Make sure there is plenty of salt in your diet. If it gets worse call the doctor.
Avatar f tn It may just be gas, i get sharp pains from gas almost daily and im 26 weeks, i noticed it around 8 weeks honestly, because your bowels relax during pregnancy which causes gas and constipation, if you dont think its just gas dont worry about calling your dr its their job to answer those kind of questions.
