Hello , 3 days ago i started to get this real sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my chest between the breasts . at first i thought it was gas so i was taking anti acids . so far not helping . i did try and see what exactly is causing this . i thought maybe it was after i ate well it is but not all foods , i noticed hard crunchy food ide get a sharp stabbing pains, but i get them at any time of the day wether im eating or not .

Hi. I am 17 years old and i have chest pains all the time. Almost a year ago i was told i had pleurisy. obviously it went away but i still have the chest pains. I had an ekg, echo, and an xray and the doctor said nothing was wrong with my heart. I take anxiety medicne but it does not help really at all with the pains. it just takes my shakiness away. It scares me that i have these problems and i just want an idea as to what it would be.

Hi Abowen- hope you are feeling a little better. Unfortunitly there are so many causes of chest and stomach pain. When it comes to pains in your chest its always best to go see a DR. Even if its just gas its better not to wait around. The pains in your stomach could be associated or they may not be, only a Dr will be able to tell you. But even if it is heart burn or gas, your doc can help youget that under control too.

I have heartburn, gas, and chest pain... I am a little worried, what causes this.

I know that stress,poor eating habits and drinking could be factors however I have limited these factors but still get freuquent lateral chest pains that feel like stabbing sharp pains, can you offer any help?

I went to the gastroenterologist today because I have been having ibs symptoms, had blood in my stool, I get very frequent indigestion, and I always constantly have gas. The gas is usually in the upper part of my body, it gets trapped in my chest and causes some bad pains. I can't seem to get rid of it no matter what I do or eat. I am scheduled for an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy.

ve had an endoscopy and a barium esophogram also all normal. It seems to me that all the symptoms are related to gas in the chest cavity. The symptoms now include "gurgling" feelings in multiple areas of the chest and back and what feel like especially strong heartbeats that I can feel easily, but the pulse rate remains normal. Burping sometimes helps but is difficult to induce.

i have constant pain in my right qudarant below liver and always gas in my bowels. in general, how long does it take the inflammated liver to cease? i am following a diet and exrcise and my liver enzime levels are improving but still pain and gas.

I have been taking Nexium 40 mg one time a day for the past two months and the past week I have been having gas pains in my chest. I can feel the gas bubbles moving after I eat and stays around for a long period of time which is very uncomfortable. Is it ok for me to take Gas X along with the Nexium?

I've been having constant pain in my chest in th middle and right side. It is not sharp but an aching pain. Wondering what could cause this? I've had inflamed pecks in the past and this is not the same pain. I am a 30 year old woman of mixed race.

so ive been having chest pains for a week now. I looked up all my symptoms online and concluded that it was probably just trapped gas. I have been belching and passing gas a lot. i notice that when i do so, it eases my chest pains some but never all the way. i ended up going to the dr because im also experienceing shortness of breath. he took a chest xray, and all my vitals and said everything looked good. so all he ended up doing was prescribing me ibuprofen to ease my chest pains.

It's quite normal to ask about pains in the chest. Everyone wonders. Sounds like you are active and doing quite well. Since the pain seemed to be connected to meals most of the time, it's probably related to your stomach. Perhaps a bit of acid reflux. That can mimic heart pain. Certainly, if the pain changes or gets worse, don't hesitate to call your doctor. Take care.

hiya i have had really bad chest pains all day, i have pains going down my arm and round the chest area but only on the right side could you tell me what it could be?

I have seen lots of doctors --9 in the past two months and none have found anything so far... But I frequently get extremely bad gas that causes chest pains and belching excessively , I mean like I have to belch back to back for an hour or more or else I feel like I can't breathe. I also get lightheaded and shaky sometimes but that could be from panicking. It just doesn't make sense to me because its usually no time around when I've eaten.

Any thoughts on how all of these pains can be connected? Most chest pain occurs on the left. I get pains in my shoulder, inner arm and left side of left breast as well.

Do you feel the pain only when you lie down or all the time? If only when you lie down it may be GERD. I have that off and on I get sharp stabbing pain in my chest when I lay down. I have to get up and take Gas X. I know it sounds funny but it hurts terribly. I had an upper GI done and I do have GERD in the upper area so I don't get reflux. I some times get pain in my abdomen too. So it is possible you have this.

It is not really known what causes CWI but Ibuprofen 600mg is a good way to treat it. I had chest wall inflamation when I was 19 and it was exactly as you describe it...it is really scary but it is not dangerous. When I had CWI I actually went to the ER! When you talk to your doctor mention CWI, hang in there...it'll be ok.

It feels kimda like bad gas pains but i havent burped or anything. Nor have i felt the urge to. What is it and what do i do??

Hello ladies. Hope everyone is having a great Monday. I'm 32 w 4 d.over the weekend I started to feel these incredibly sharp pains in my chest when I try to sit up or turn over when I'm laying down. If I cough I can feel it too. I feel it towards the center of my chest. Does anyone else have this or have experienced it?

Hi and thanks for your comments.If you don't mind me asking, I would like to know since you mentioned that GERD can cause chest pains. I don't have H. pylori but have reflux in the upper I guess esophageal "area" I don't know what they call it. I don't feel the reflux but I do get very sharp chest pains that resolve when I take GasX. It is really sharp. Is this the same type of thing that you are talking about? For the post above? Or is it just gas. thanks in advance!

Mine goes to my arms, hips, legs, back, in between shoulder blades, fleeting pains in the chest, sides, or even in the feet.. Weird ! .. you would be able to tell by pressing on the area- and it will make you burp and afford pain relief, or by doing chopping - like massage to where the pain is with same result.. I think your guess is right. Its gas from acidity.. To address formation of gas, I take "anti gas enzymes" Beano did not help me, not antacids either..
