I take Wellbutrin strictly for OCD anxiety. I do not have a history of depression.

My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...

Have you noticed an increase in attacks as well as severity? I have been on Wellbutrin XL 150mg for 17 days now and in that time I have had several mini anxiety surges but also like 3 SEVERE attacks (shaking, jaw clenching, heart pounding, feeling like I am dying or flipping out). These have all occurred just before bed time (10:30ish) or just after I fall asleep. I wake up suddenly and feeling terrified.

Okay, I have been on Wellbutrin 300 xl (generic) for more than a month now. I am still a little jittery in the morning but not as bad. I get headaches every afternoon/evening and so I have to beat them to the punch with an Aleve at about 2:00 and even then I may still get the headache but just not as bad. Constipation has set in, still dealing with the dry mouth, and I have breakthrough panic attacks. I have been trying to self-coach my way through them..

I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for about 6 months...I recently started taking once a day SR...to me the SR is less effective...I don't fell anything...it doesnt really feel like it curves my depression. I only tried it to compare the difference...I prefer the 2x a day I feel much better and actually feel it working...thats just my personal experience...however when I talked to my M.D. the switch wasn't harmful I guess its the chemical reaction to ur brain/body...good luck!

I take bupropion (Wellbutrin) but I take it for OCD/Anxiety. I believe I have undiagnosed ADD as well. For me it works well for my OCD/Anxiety. The ADD, well I have lived with that for so long that I think I have just found ways around the attention problems that I have so I can't really say that it helps or doesn't with that particular part of my life. If you have any specific questions about it, let me know and maybe I can give you a better answer.

Hi, I have been on Wellbutrin XL for about 2 years now. I also have intrusive thoughts. In my opinion, I don't think the Wellbutrin works well for the thoughts. I think it helps more with energy and when you are feeling down that maybe it helps with you getting out there and doing stuff...like going out with friends and stuff. As far as helping with the thoughts, I don't feel it does anything.

I went from brands name Wellbutrin SR 150 mg once a day, which made me energized and active, to brand name Wellbutrin XL 300 mg once a day. Now I am sleepy, lethargic and there is no buzz or energy at all. What's up??

My doc prescribed Wellbutrin XL since the Lexapro made my depression even worse, excessive sleeping, etc. My question is - can I still take 1 mg of Klonopin to help with anxiety, prevent panic attacks? I've taken Wellbutrin before for a bad depression and know that it makes a person more energetic but also jittery at times. Any advice? Could I combine Lexapro 10 mg with the Wellbutrin XL 150 mg? I was on 150 mg XL of Wellbutrin and doing okay until this past May. My OCD/anxiety got the best of me and I had to up it to 300 mg. Once I got that in my system, I've done really well. I have had 1 panic attack (or near panic attack...I stopped it) since May. By long-term I was referring to something like Wellbutrin. I don't need to take any klonopin during the day but I do take 1 mg at night to sleep. Frankly, I was surprised that Wellbutrin worked for me.

m on 225 reg. Wellbutrin. The XL, extended release tablets stayed in my system long into the evening strong and kept me from being able to sleep well. I take it first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up.

To get about the same result you had with Nefazodone with no weight gain I would recommend sertraline (Zoloft) combined with Wellbutrin XL. To get a significant antagonizing effect to your 5-HT2 receptors you would need mirtazapine but it is related with weight gain so I would try the Zoloft with Wellbutrin XL which will basically in a SNDRI like Nefazodone and see how it goes.

I got my period for the normal 5 days and have been spotting for 5 MORE DAYS AND COUNTING! Is this one of the "start up" side effects or a permanent thing???

I'll keep as short and sweet as possible: - I started on 150mg of Bupropion (Sandoz manufacturer) and had an INTENSE honeymoon starting on the third day. It lasted ~2 days and the effects felt almost identical to that of MDMA.

My doctor started me on Wellbutrin XL 150mg and I felt great the first couple of days, however I now get very depressed in the afternoons, dwelling on the past - how I could have done things better and how messed up my life is now, the doc wants to increase the dose to 300mg but these pills are expensive!! i am on zoloft 75mg and have been breaking out in a rash since i started taking it in april but am just now realizing it could be the zoloft. does anyone have any experiance with this or can recommend another medicine that may work for my ocd and anxiety. my ocd is the scary thoughts and it was all caused after a major surgery i went through. it is getting better but i still have some issues.

Hi there...sorry to butt in but for Wellbutrin it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks before you really see benefits. But as Sandman said, it usually isn't prescribed for ADD but rather OCD and anxiety. I take it for OCD. Is your doctor trying to treat your racing thoughts thinking that perhaps you have OCD as well as ADD?

I was prescribed wellbutrin xl 300 mg (after taking xl150 for quite a while) when my anxiety suddenly flared up due to stress. The 150 was prescribed because I was waking up with my heart feeling like it was going to beat out of my chest in the middle of the night over different things. Right now I feel good at night but when the morning comes I am so edgy. I feel like jumping out of my skin and I can't stand that feeling. I spend a lot of time breathing.
