I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
I kept having tingling in my body the last few days so dr stopped the ritalin and put me back on 30 mg of prozac along with the wellbutrin sr and my xaanx..
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
I am taking Wellbutrin SR 300Mg, 200 mg. Zoloft. and 50 mg. Trazodone daily, Do you think these doses are too high? Just started taking the Wellbutrin Sr 2 weeks ago, and feel so much better....
Can you tell me which is the better answer? I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg for a number of years and then within the past couple of years it was inadvertently changed to XI. Could this be the reason for my anger changes a couple of years ago and is Lexapro really the solution?

About two weeks into my new Wellbutrin regimen (150 mg. SR added to my nightly dose of 33 mg. Remeron), I developed a pretty intense bout of heartburn. This heartburn has stayed with for most of the entire past week-and-a-half, and I've recently added a daily Prilosec to my cocktail, which clears up the problem almost entirely. I'm getting ready to bump my dose up to a second WB 150 SR daily, and am worried about this heartburn issue, as I seem to really be responding to this drug.

I have not had hair falling out...but that's not a good side effect...and it is not listed as a side effect in any drug book. But there are always side effects they never tell you about. Four-hundred mg is generally as high as most doctors will go (as per the PDR, I believe), but I've known people who were prescribed on as much as 450 mg.
Going higher than this recommended limit increases risk of seizures.
Your doctor also needs to assess your general medical condition, any other meds that you may be on, etc.
My personal experience is there's no difference between generic and brand-name, aside from cost (and co-pay).
I was taking 30 mg of Paxil, then she told me to cut it the next week to 20 mg (one week), and then to 10 mg (one week) and then start with the Wellbutrin SR.I started it last Friday, I was experiencing horrible nausea, Maalox was completely useless. I also had headaches (not anymore) intense anxiety for moments and muscle pain (on back and and abdomen) because I am very tense all the time. Yesterday was the worse of all. Horrible.
I am having the same problem - I starting taking Wellbutrin SR on July 6th - I am on no other medication - and my stomach is huge! It feels very tight and uncomfortable. Before starting the Wellbutrin I had no stomach let alone the full feeling that I am having. This symptom is adding to my anxiety - I am wondering if will go away. I just got off prozac after being on it a year,Im still on wellbutrin sr 150 mg twice a day and thyroid meds and hormones...has any one tried any of these supplements? And do you know if they are safe to take with wellbutrin sr?
Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.
Last night I started taking Wellbutrin SR for my depression. I am taking 150 mg in the morning and 150 mg at night. I have noticed today I am very jittery and shakey. I have had about a half cup of coffee (normally I am on cup 3 by this time of morning). I have smoked one ciggarette all day. My doctor told me to stop Paxil cold turkey and start Wellbutrin SR 150mg twic a day. I have been on Paxil for 11 months at 40 mg. When I tried his strategy, I became very ill. I feel tired, withdrawn, brain zaps, dizziness, nausea. Can I take a small dose of Paxil with Wellbutrin SR? If so, how do I do this, what part of day?
I was on Paxil for almost fifteen years but switched to Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 1x daily two weeks ago. I have experienced every side effect in the book so far--nausea, dizziness, and severe muscle pain. I have not noticed any benefits yet to this medication. My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). I have been on 300 MG of Welbutrin SR for almost 3 weeks now. I take it along with Lamictal. I started the Wellbutrin because the others I have tried (celexa, cymbalta, lexapro) weren't helping. Since I have begun, I have been so irritable and sad, and crying for sometimes no reason at all. I am not sure that this is making me feel better or worse.

I am taking 300 mg of wellbutrin per day, also topamax. I cannot lose weight to save my life. A few weeks ago I weighed 158 and now I weigh 170, I am disgusted.
