I was prescribed Wellbutrin (buproprion) for smoking cessation and have been on it for roughly 3 weeks. It is the SR, 150mg in the AM and 150mg in the PM. I have also been on methadone for roughly five years and have been at the same dosage of 25mgs for over a year.
Once starting buproprion (i got the generic), the side affects were pretty bad. I felt like I was on amphetamines.
Wellbutrin 150 mg xl worked great for me while quitting smoking. Today I am tapering off the wellbutrin and I have 60 quit days from the cigs. I also lost 8 lbs in 2 months, however not sure if it was the xl or sr or even the current 75 mg hcl that I'm currently on now.
That's how much I take each day.
My hair is falling out. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to stop taking it because it has helped me quit smoking, gives more energy, and I've lost 20 pounds already.
BUT, my hair (on my scalp) is falling out/thinning. WHAT TO DO?
I'm 56 need to drop 40 lbs I've gained since starting menopause, never been heavy in my life...now I weigh over 170..I'm 5 ft 4...I also have slight depression and hot flashes and can not sleep, have been given Wellbutrin, haven't started yet...new RX scare me....I hate the jittery feeling....if that should happen, is there anyway to get it to go away faster ?
I was very recently prescribed Wellbutrin XL, after trying several medications that have not helped [including Wellbutrin SR]. When I saw my doctor, she simply said 'I'm putting you on Wellbutrin twice daily' and I assumed it would be the SR. But what I was given was XL, with the instructions to take it twice a day [morning and around noon]. My doctor's office is closed today, or I would have asked her. I did ask the pharmacist, and he said that yes, this is okay.
I kept having tingling in my body the last few days so dr stopped the ritalin and put me back on 30 mg of prozac along with the wellbutrin sr and my xaanx..
He then prescribed Wellbutrin which I thought was strange because all the research I had done said it was for depression and to help one to stop smoking. I took it anyway and within 3 weeks I felt better than I had in years. This past couple weeks I felt I was slipping backwards so I went back to the Doctor and he increased the dose to 300mg. My question is? Has anyone else been prescribed Wellbutrin that has anxiety and or OCD? What are your experiences?
My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.
I am taking Wellbutrin SR 300Mg, 200 mg. Zoloft. and 50 mg. Trazodone daily, Do you think these doses are too high? Just started taking the Wellbutrin Sr 2 weeks ago, and feel so much better....
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Can you tell me which is the better answer? I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg for a number of years and then within the past couple of years it was inadvertently changed to XI. Could this be the reason for my anger changes a couple of years ago and is Lexapro really the solution?

I also had headaches (not anymore) intense anxiety for moments and muscle pain (on back and and abdomen) because I am very tense all the time. Yesterday was the worse of all. Horrible. The nausea was absolutely horrible, and I was so anxious that I felt like I was going to get crazy. And I am afraid that this is just starting.
I took 10 mg of Paxil cause I couldn`t stand it anymore. My questions are:
*Did I stop taking the Paxil very fast?
I am having the same problem - I starting taking Wellbutrin SR on July 6th - I am on no other medication - and my stomach is huge! It feels very tight and uncomfortable. Before starting the Wellbutrin I had no stomach let alone the full feeling that I am having. This symptom is adding to my anxiety - I am wondering if will go away. I am taking Extra Strength Tums to see if that will help. Let me know if you have found any relief...
Has anyone else experienced heartburn with Wellbutrin, and if so how did you treat it and did it eventually go away? I'm wondering if a switch from SR to XL is indicated in order to slow the release of the drug to potentially help with my stomach issues.

that wouldnt have anything to do with that..the only thing that would is if you were having a reaction to the wellbutrin and its closing off ur throat.. I DONT THINK THERE RELATED..IVE GOT APNEA..I JUST THINK ITS UR TIME TO GET IT..IF YOU GOT IT DO PLEASE TREAT IT...................
I started taking Wellbutrin SR about 2 months ago and since then I have been experiencing some short term memory loss and have had a decrease in concentration, along with decreased inability to stay focused. Is this a normal side effect for this med?
I am not good at taking more than one pill per day and I know with Wellbutrin, and Wellbutrin SR, more than one is required. I would wanted a timed release anyway, with one pill only. My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day.
I would contact your doctor right away to see what he has to say. Anytime something new arises you need to let him know. He will know if it is anxiety or your medication combo. Take care.
recently found out my problem it thyroid and hormones.Anyways im going off prozac and Im down to 10 mg and 150 mg wellbutrin sr 2 times a day.after a few weeks of cutting ftom 2 prozac i feel funny so i go back to 2,my dr wants me to instead of going back to 2 proxac to up my wellbutrin to 2 150 mg in am and 1 in pm..which makes 450 mg/she said it is abit over normal amount of wellbutrin sr..
