I think Jaybay just gave you great advice. Lots of elderly have different side effects than the more common ones. Medications can easily interact and sometimes medications that have been fine for a long time all of a sudden aren't. A gerentologist probably is the best place to look for answers. When my mom was alive, we had a few kinks with her medications.

I am on Lamictal and Geodone. It is a good combination for me. Didn't get any side effects with the Lamictal. With Geodone I have a few side effects. One side effect is I lost a lot of weight. Which was good to begin with as I was a size 12 going on to 14 but I am now a size six. I really have to watch that I don't lose anymore weight. I'd like to gain some muscle tone too. I also have some agitation, or it increased what was already there. I alway fidgited now I do it more.

looking for BP medications with good proven record and less side effects? Do I still have to take beta blockers for the rest of my life or there is another alternative- I understand they are very useful after a heart attack but I feel horrible.Statins and Plavix do not give me any trouble so far. Can anyone explain to me why I still had a heart attack even while taking the following meds atenenol 50mg bid, HCTZ 25mg daily, zetia 40mg daily, plavix 25mg daily, welchol 625mg bid. Also what is the chance of a second heart attack My Aortic Valve, Tricuspid Valve, and my Mitral Valve are failing because they are stenotic and regurgitative. The Aortic valve is in the worst shape of the three they tell me. I have psoriatic arthritis and ankolosing spondylitis. all joints are involved.

What kind of delusions are you suffering from? Are you on any other medications? I do not think what you are experiencing is a side effect of the Celexa....although I am not an MD, I have taken Celexa myself and read thuroughly on the known side effects. I would talk to a doctor immediately.

The medicines always lower my chol, but I always have bad side effects from them. I now go to a cardiologist in Houston, Tx. and he prescribe welchol. This is the first medicine I have tried that I have taken more then two weeks, I started taking the meds in Oct. of 2008 and stop taking it of Feb. 2008.When the doctor told me to increase the doseage from 2 tables twice a day to 2 tablets 3 times a day each 650mg I believe.

the first two times, there were a few blockages - 10, 18 and 20% The last time was in December 2013 with a different cardiologist (I moved across the state) and he said I had NO blockages at all. HUH??? My lipid profiles are still horrible even with medications. Pravacol, Tricor and Welchol. His answer for this question was: "Those medications took the blockages away." Hi...I have not found a med that takes my chiari HA's away, so I do not take them bcuz of side effects...however, everyone is diff and it is possible the drs may find something to take the edge off for her. I had surgery on my ankle and the pain meds from that surgery did not touch my chiari HA....we all must see what our bodies will or will not tollerate. I wish I could say more....u may want to try anti inflammatory foods...relaxation techniques...even accupunture.

I had the same problem. I went 100% gluten free and chemical free internally and externally, added certain extra vitamins (even though doc said I didn't need them, but they can't measure the quantity of certain things at the cellular level anyway), a few herbal supplements (not chinese herbals with strange names but more like an herbal liver cleanse tincture/pill with certain plants and oils in it), and prescription Welchol.

Also the side effects of weight gain and some other negative side effects are the reason I would love to get off of it. If anyone knows of any medications instead of seroquel that might work.....
