It turned out to be the welchol I had started on to decrease my cholesterol. I felt bloated, constipated, a little dizzy and a fast heart rate every late afternoon and evening. I was very fatigued and just felt lousy all over. I have to admit that the pressure feeling in the esophagus was the scarriest.
Can anyone explain to me why I still had a heart attack even while taking the following meds atenenol 50mg bid, HCTZ 25mg daily, zetia 40mg daily, plavix 25mg daily, welchol 625mg bid. Also what is the chance of a second heart attack
My Aortic Valve, Tricuspid Valve, and my Mitral Valve are failing because they are stenotic and regurgitative. The Aortic valve is in the worst shape of the three they tell me. I have psoriatic arthritis and ankolosing spondylitis. all joints are involved.
I have an answer for you. I too had my GB out, and soon after had the same symptoms. I DIAGNOSED IT myself....not much initial help from the gastro MD. It is called "biliary diarrhea". It's fairly common, surprisingly. Apparantly has no reflection on the quality of the surgery (I had the short cut method). However, good news: I've beern able to control it, for which I do give gastro MD credit....The cholesterol drug Welchol. Without it I'd be housebound!
However you can find plenty of digestive enzymes supplements and betaine HCI with pepsin supplements on the market. Some brands contain both enzymes and betaine HCI with pepsin.

Vegetarian Digestive Enzymes by Metagenics (currently taking). Prefers this brand but both enzyme supplements work well.
The composition of the syrup is each 5ml contains 4mg Promethazine HCI, 9mg Codeine Phosphate and 8mg Ephedrine HCI. Each bottle of the syrup is 120 ml, I usually take one or two bottle of it. In my country, tablet with single composition is available. Which one/two of the tablet can replace the syrup?
Ask your doctor about Welchol; it's a cholesterol medicine that binds bile salts. I had mine taken out in February of last year and tried to "tough it out," but after a doctor put me on Welchol, I rarely ever get sick after eating.

PPI's (eg: nexium, prilosec) should be taken for up to 14 days, 3 times a year - FDA warning - March 2010. Good reason for this statement. You need stomach acid to absorb essential nutrients and kill off bacteria, fungi and parasites. Low stomach acid leads to fractures, bacterial/fungal infections, parasites, lowered immune system, systematic health decline, gastritis, stomach cancer, heart failure....
* Good levels of stomach acid (HCI): B12 must first be separated from the protein that binds it. This requires HCI. Low stomach acid is common as this lowers with age. Reflux is a common symptom of low stomach acid
* Intrinsic factor (IF): B12 cannot pass through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream without IF.

Lipitor caused severe muscle weakness, Zetia caused all kind of digestive problems and Pravachol zapped my energy...my count actually went up 30 points while taking WelChol! My doctor is telling me that I have no other choices of medicine to lower my count (total 285, HDL 106 VLDL 21, LDL 188, Triglycerids 106.) My sister is having the same problem so I guess this problem is a family thing. I am really troubled by my doctor's lack of concern.
I take (2) 500mg of metformin at breakfast and supper. I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?
Digestive enzyme supplements are good for high or low acid production (low acid is by far more common). Betaine HCI with pepsin supplements help with stomach acid production. You can find both these supplements at health food stores. Apple cider vinegar can be used in combination or as a substitute for HCI supplements.
I did not have any problems until then. I suffered with IBS for years until my Gastro doctor put me on Welchol and it is wonderful I take 3 pills a day and I can get anything I want and I don't have any IBS episodes anymore. I am not afraid to go out anywhere anymore. But I have another problem.
I am curious if you tried cholestramine or welchol pills for detox? I use the welchol because I can't drink liquid meds.

The last time was in December 2013 with a different cardiologist (I moved across the state)
and he said I had NO blockages at all. HUH??? My lipid profiles are still horrible even with medications.

Of course, I am no doctor but this seems funny to me.
Is tylenol cold multi symptom ok to take ? It says Acetaminophen , phenylephrine HCI , dextromethorphan HBr its pain reliever fever reducer nasal decongestant cough suppressant .
You may want to ask the doc if he can try a bile binding resin like questran or somehting like Welchol. There's also the possibility that calcium could help. But it has to be in a specific form and take ant specific times of the day. Google 'lnape and calcium,' and look at the information provided. The contraindication would be if he has a history of kidney stones or parathyroid problems.
insufficient stomach acid is the most common cause of acid reflux conditions! She stopped the PPI nexium, started betaine HCI with pepsin supplements (to help with low stomach acid) and digestive enzyme supplements and her severe GERD and LPR were gone; suffered both severely for 5 years. After a year and a half, her stomach is "retrained" with the betaine HCI to help produce its own acid. She only needs digestive enzymes now with meals.
I'm seriously addicted to Diphenhydramine (in Benadryl, etc.). Is anyone here addicted to this stuff that seems to be NOT addictive to everyone else but me? I finally found a place on the internet that talks about being addicted to Diphenhydramine HCI Like I am. I saw a member's (Unisom) posts here from a few years ago ...I had to write him and anyone who may be on here reading this.
s been undergoing a Welchol treatment for the last 5 to 6 months and has only been able to take 1/2 pack every second day due to the pain but she feels she's on the right path. I, of course, am doubtful, been that route before. Again, thank you for taking so much time for us and for the others you help.
