I know there are benefits and want to do it properly. Background: I want to TTC again after my miscarriage and I am currently walking five days a week and weight training three days a week.
Avatar f tn I would recommend doing a full body weight training at lease 3 to 4 days a week with cardiovascular training at the beginning or end to maximize your training. The reason that I say that is because wieght training will have a lasting calorie burn 36-42 HOURS while cardio just 2 hours. This is why you must use weights. Now your backside, different story. I would recommend that you would start with lighter sets until your body gets accustom.
Avatar f tn I wear a pedometer, to keep track of how much I'm moving around, and I've started physical therapy to work on muscles to support my back and my atrophied quads so that I can try to get back to my latest love in exercise; water aerobics. It's not quite aerobic, but it can work your whole body as easy or as hard as you're able. I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness an average of 3 times a week, warming up a little on the treadmill (their's have fans built in), then going to class.

It is a really strange coincidence that as soon as I start weight training, this symptom happens after so long of being fine. Everywhere I read, they say weight training is great for MS between gaining stability and muscle control. I really don't want it making me worse. Thank you!

I recently started a joga training and at the first part of the exercises we usually try to relax. While doing this I feel the slow and soft waving of my body, which is my heartbeat actually. Can it mean anything like high BP, or somethig ? And is it normal when you can feel your heartbeat while relaxing ( if you focus on it ) ?

It was alright until I did a round of "Sit Ups" when I experienced a sudden sharp pain somewhere between my neck and right shoulder. I didn't go to gym on the next day. I applied some "wintergreen oil" balm and the pain subsided. I continued from the third day.

These exercises would help in further strengthening his back muscles which will help stabilized his shoulder and spine. My BMI is now normal, I've just lost some kilos, but wonder about my muscle tonus. The question is - does it mean my belly muscles are OK or do I need more training? In case I do - which one? To increase it till 200?
Avatar n tn If you want to do some exercise then you may choose to do low intensity weight training to maintain your body shape for that time. You are also try some and NSAID painkiller like Advil before exercise. Keep yourself well hydrated and decrease the number of repetitions for a while. Take rest between exercises. You may apply some ice to the back of scalp and neck. I hope this helps, take care.

I would like to do weight training and find some exercises for my core, but don't know where to look. I have two herniated discs in my neck and carpal tunnel. I cannot afford to go to a gym since I am unemployed.
Avatar m tn I was ok for about 18 years but recently I pulled a muscle and could not do my running routine after lifting and that’s when it came back. I’m back in full strength but the head pressure is not going away no matter what I do . It’s been 2 months now and as soon as I wake up it is there. I never heard of anyone else with such symptoms and the doctors I went to a while back had no clue. Can’t say I blame them. This is freaky. Let me know if you can help.

I believe a modified weight training regiment will help you with muscle toning and increased metabolism, without affecting your breathing much. Start with light resistance/weights and go from there. Another thing you can consider is using a vibration machine at a low to medium intensity.

Avatar f tn Thanks to Patrick, definitely I will walk more and stop the weight lifting exercise, as because of those weight exercise I went back into a Crisis with my Myatenia Gracias. Thanks God and with the increase of the Inmuran medication I am feeling a little better and hope to completely recover from this Crisis withing a month, so I can start doing more walking in order to prevent more.... Ostosporosis.
Avatar f tn Hi! Common causes of weight gain like overeating, lack of exercise, diabetes, hypothyroidism have to be ruled out in your case. You must then look for other causes. One is water retention due to low serum protein. This along with anemia can cause unexplained weight gain. Adrenal gland problems are the other cause. Cushing’s syndrome should be looked for. The kidney function too should be assessed. Late night snacking and poor sleep too can cause weight gain.
Avatar n tn You should try having her take swimming classes since swimming can help strengthen her legs as well the rest of her body. Weight lifting at 10 years old probably wouldn't be recommended since that seems too young as she is still growing.
1925822 tn?1333709217 not sure if u were following the Wednesdays weight inn.....but we have exercises for the brain as well as the body...walking is the best thing for us and walking barefoot is helpful...as u can feel the ground underneath..... Do try tossing a ball in the air and catching it with the opposite hand and things like that...I will continue to post ideas that should help us...I am getting all of the ideas from a Dr and relaying them to u all here...
Avatar f tn Don’t work your back and core muscles two days in a row. For example, if you work the core and back on Wednesday, wait until at least Friday to work the muscle groups again. If you google these exercises you should be able to see how they are done. Before doing anything get the OK from your doctor!!

That may have something to do with your weight not moving since it looks like you're doing it every day. I know that since we started it, I've definitely toned up and the weight has moved. Ariesoal- I drink water during my workout, I go through a 24oz bottle during my 1 hour session, which I guess (according to my math) is 6oz every fifteen minutes if you average it out.
