The reason that I say that is because wieght training will have a lasting calorie burn 36-42 HOURS while cardio just 2 hours. This is why you must use weights. Now your backside, different story. I would recommend that you would start with lighter sets until your body gets accustom.

Avatar m tn Give it some time. It took me a while to lose the weight I gained on Paxil, but frankly, I've gained some of it back because I went back on antidepressants. Cardio is important for losing weight and goes along with weight training -- you can't weight train long enough to build muscle if you're not also doing cardio to strengthen endurance and the heart. Athletes usually alternate the two. So if you're not doing any cardio, adding it should speed this along.

It was alright until I did a round of "Sit Ups" when I experienced a sudden sharp pain somewhere between my neck and right shoulder. I didn't go to gym on the next day. I applied some "wintergreen oil" balm and the pain subsided. I continued from the third day.

Avatar n tn No exercise is a waste of time... Both strength training and cardio are good for weight loss. Strength training builds muscle and muscle burns fat. I don't know how long you've been doing the exercise, but perhaps, your diet has been lacking the right kinds of foods or too large servings. Exercise, alone, rarely causes a lot of weight loss; diet is crucial.
Avatar f tn Flat sprints, hill sprints, jogging upstairs, biking and weight training are a good start. As for weight training I would start with squats bench press and dead lifts if your back is in good condition. You have to make sure your diet in in check though if you want your legs to lose fat. If your intake of calories is too high and your not exercising enough then you wont get the results you want.

For last 3 days, I feel tingling at the tip of the finger (next to thumb) of my right toe, in the morning.....5-10 minutes after I wake up. This lasts for a few minutes. Also I had been ocassionally experiencing mild pain in the lower back, once I wake up, for last few months. (Earlier I attributed this to wrong sleeping position).

Weight training helps your body burn calories even after your workout. Don't forget you need to decrease your calories by eating also you won't be able to lose weight if your calorie intake is higher then your calorie outake.
