Avatar f tn My personal trainer was shocked when we did my measurements, even my BMI did not decrease, it's exactly the same. I really don't understand and am so disappointed. I feel so much healthier and energetic and my skin and hair look great, so I am loving exercising as my health condition has improved so much. I'm just sad about my weight. It has been suggested I get my thyroid checked and my hormones checked. I'm not sure how to do this. Is there any other advice some1 can give me.
228463 tn?1216765121 or we could go by body weight % for the contest so it would be fair because the more you have to lose, the more you can lose, you know? (weight watchers goes in 10% weight loss incraments) I would like to lose 35 pounds, maybe 40... And then I would still not be skinny, but normal and within weight range. Can somone tell the trick-or-treaters to come early to get rid of all this candy in my house?
Avatar n tn From the measurements you stated, your daughter's height is in the 50th percentile and weight is just below 5th percentile for her age. It is recommended for her weight / age to eat appropriately 1000 calories per day which consists of 1cup fruit (fresh, frozen, canned), 1cup vegetables (fresh, frozen, canned), 4ozs grains (breads, cereal, cooked rice, cooked pasta), 3oz meat / fish or beans, 2cups dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese- 2oz), 3 teaspoon oils (margarine, salad dressing, mayonnaise).
Avatar f tn I have been on an extremely healthy diet for a month and a half eating only fresh foods, increasing fruits and vegetables, eating whole grains and proper portion sizes of white meats (fish, turkey, chicken). I am on smaller portions and I am sure to have 4-5 small meals a day. I cut out all drinks besides water and drink at least 70 fluid ounces of water per day.
Avatar f tn I don't think you need to loose weight period. Using your sex, height and weight the BMI calculator I use says you're at 22BMI. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9. So you have a good healthy weight, especially considering you're still growing. Also BMI are just an average and if you are physically active your fat percentage might be very low so this BMI might not be the best idecator for your health. 4: Loosing 15 lbs would place you at 19.7 BMI.
Avatar n tn From your measurements, her weight is above the 95th percentile (overweight) and her height is on the 90th percentile for her age. Based on her weight / age, she should be consuming approximately 1800 calories per day as recommended the following; Fruits (limit fruit juices) = 1.5 cups; Vegetables 2.5 cups; Grains (cereals, breads) = 6oz equivalents; Meat & beans = 5oz equivalents; Dairy products (milk, yogurt) = 3 cups; Oils = 5 tsp; Additional calories to be used discretionary = 195.
Avatar f tn For this regime, forget calories and forget your weight. Take your measurements before you start to monitor your progress. You will need to eat a lot of protein every day - equivalent to four cans of tuna/five skinless chicken breasts/eight eggs every day, and possibly more if you're a large build. Make sure you eat lots of vegetables and you NEED good fats to metabolise the fat in your cells - so make sure you're having some with every meal.
206247 tn?1193788617 Thank you for your measurements and age. From your weight and height, you are approximately 10-15 lbs overweight. You are still growing at 16 and if you increase your physical activities, you can build muscle and loss weight. It is recommended to exercise 1/2 hour or more each day. To build muscle, exercise with weights. As you loss weight, I suggest you measure your waist and not look at the scale. Muscle weights more then fat and as you build muscle it may not show weight loss.
Avatar f tn From your measurements, his weight is on the 5th percentile and his height is between the 25-10th percentile for his age. It sounds like he does eat.
Avatar n tn If you don't lose weight slowly, it might be best to just accept your current weight and focus on prevention of weight gain, continuing your terrific fitness routine, and eating the healthiest diet you can, which includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and healthy fats for optimal health. Thanks for sharing.
Avatar n tn Anyhow Effexor did wonders for my attitude however after 3 years I am now convinced that it was the cause for all the excess weight. Anyhow I was wondering if the weight comes off after I get off the meds? or am I stuck with excess weight forever in which case I will be contacting my doctor because they lied to me.
Avatar n tn I would say that it is a 50/50 chance whether you would lose weight in the long run as the product wasn't designed as a weight loss product. (but I'm not a doctor so your dr. might be able to tell you what to expect).
Avatar f tn As per your measurements written, his weight is on the 10th percentile and his height is just below the 25th percentile which indicates he is normal for his age. To help him gain weight, suggest giving him Pediasure in place of milk for all meals and snacks. The foods you have described he will eat, they are healthy and a good variety.

Avatar n tn I was wondering if ANYONE has any advice for me. I have been trying to lose about 5-10lbs over the last year. I am 31 years old , 4'8" and weigh 101 lbs. I used to weight between 89 and 94lbs at the most! I am pretty atheltic. I ran a marathon a few years ago and shortly after that is when I gained the weight. I have been training for half marathons (I ran one in April 2006) so I have been keeping the cardio up with running 3-4 days during the week and then 5-10 miles on the weekends.
