Avatar n tn Suggest making milkshakes (milk, ice cream, and fresh fruit or frozen) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, fresh fruit, and frozen fruit) and give it to him in place of milk (in a sippy cup) for meals and snacks for additional calories/protein to help increase his weight. Engage him in the kitchen more. Children love to be a part of making food. Have him help you with preparation of food, make the milkshakes and setting the table. Hopefully this will increase his interest in other types of food.

The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. As far as food goes, I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet.
Avatar f tn If you really want to change your diet permanently for weight balance I'd do some reading and see a nutritionist -- eating a lot of dairy has proven to be helpful for weight loss, but then you're stuck with eating too much dairy, which can later lead to inflammation problems and digestion problems, so the key is to adopt a new diet that is healthier and better balanced than your old one and increase your exercise.

Avatar f tn I think it's easier to lose the weight now for Jackie than if she waited to try to achieve some weight loss in later decades when the metabolism slows making the task more difficult. It's great to be a healthy weight for so many things, lowering risk factors for serious health problems!

676912 tn?1332816151 Sounds like you are pretty sore so exercise is probably tough right now although to lose the weight it would be super important. Snacking? Veggies and rice cakes, yogurt and all those not so fun snacks. Drink water when you are hungry - I have heard that often times we are just thirsty and mistake it for being hungry. Also allow yoursefl a little cheat treat maybe 1x week. Look at the scale only once a week - not everyday. Hope this helps a little.
