Do ensure you are getting sufficient protein through beans and dairy.

Avatar n tn I do have to cook for 2 different eating habits, my husband and kid do eat meat, so I have to prepare meat dishes, I do stick with the leaner meats for them. I just choose not to eat them. Not sure of weight loss that is involved, its good to see nutritionist to make sure of all vitimans being included in your diet when not eating meat.

But losing weight isn't different for a vegetarian or non-vegetarian -- you have to find the foods that you metabolize well and digest well, and eat less and avoid what metabolizes to sugar or unhealthy fat storage quickly. A good balanced diet and increased exercise is still the gold standard, and it's not calories so much as how well you push the food through your system that matters.

Since you want to lose weight, you'll need to decrease that number or get more exercise. Once you get the food diary set up, we can help you with your meals/calorie intake. Exercise is also necessary to maintain healthy weight. If you aren't active, you'll have to cut way back on your calorie intake, but be careful.
