Avatar m tn As for the incontinence issues, that may just tie in with the wasting muscle issues as it is the muscles that control urination. That is why older dogs often start having urinary problems. With the rapid weight loss. Cancer always comes to mind but, again, more testing would have had to have been done. Sometimes we just have to accept the fact there are no definite answers. Hard, I know, been there.
Avatar n tn Coupled with the fact that you have experienced weight loss and frequent urination it may be significant. Have you got your blood sugar testet? These same symptoms can be seen in diabetes too. ref:http://www.aqch.com/toc/auto_abstract.php?
Avatar n tn Could you now have Diabetis...weight loss and frequent urination are symptoms. Maybe go to a regular primary care doctor and ask for testing. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I actually didn't realize there was so much testing until I saw this forum yesterday. Was wondering, has anyone else experienced extreme weight loss (aka wasting syndrome or cachexia) with autonomic dysfunction? Perhaps due to poor digestion/absorption? I don't have any of the known disorders for wasting plus I eat plenty of densely nutritious foods, smoothies, etc.
Avatar n tn My husband has lost about 40lbs in last 2 months. I would say a total of 50lbs in last 4months. Went to family dr and he just focused on the fact that he smoked. Since my husband has suffered from heatburn he at least scheduled a EGD. Asked for a colonoscopy then and the dr said "its for people over 50." They did blood work but when I asked what his psa was i was told they didnt do that test. He had the EGD done and they found nothing that would explain the weight loss.
Avatar f tn 'Renal' diets restrict protein to the point that many cats - those that are not consuming enough of the diet to provide their daily protein calorie needs - will catabolize (use for fuel) their own muscle mass which results in muscle wasting and weight loss. This internal breakdown of the cat’s own muscle mass will cause an increase in creatinine (and BUN) which needs to be cleared by the kidneys.
Business woman1 Do you have medical conditions that make weight loss difficult? Those might include insulin resistance, hypothyroidism and/or PCOS. If you do, you have to get those under control before you will be able to lose weight.
Avatar n tn If there is fever, back or side pain, vomiting, or shaking chills, increased thirst or appetite, fatigue, or sudden weight loss, it would be best that further evaluation be done by your doctor. Imaging studies may help with ruling out anatomical problems. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I thought it might be diabetes initially but am not experiencing any other symptoms like weight loss, or hunger etc. Unfortunately the dry mouth is causing ulcers and tooth pain maybe decay.
Avatar f tn The diagnosis is made by exclusion of the above problems plus having the classic symptoms. Your history of weight loss is a great thing but has no effect on bladder function. You don't need to see a psychiatrist. This is a real organic pain problem and is not in your head. Low back pain is very common and may be from strained back muscles, not a pinched nerve problem. Keep exercising, that is only a good thing.
Avatar f tn In addition to the frequent urination, I have a great deal of cognitive issues (memory loss / retention problems, concentration problems, shortened attention span, sometimes can't speak properly), depression and anxiety, eye issues (wicked light sensitive, blurry vision, hurts to look up or to the sides), stiff and painful joints and muscles, muscle weakness, occasional tingling in hands or feet, INCREDIBLY fatigued, dizziness and lightheadedness, vertigo, occasional balance issues, and trembli
1972965 tn?1334858302 You are young, but you are overweight and unexplained weight loss is a symptom of diabetes. Also if any foods seem to make you feel ill, perhaps you need to rule out food intolerance or allergies which could explain the weight loss.

Avatar f tn December is a long time to wait, in the slight chance it might be cancer, you should have the surgery ASAP, you might ask for a MRI and a CA125. 3 months more of this unexplained weight loss could be devastating to your general health. did you have a urine test done to see what it contains? Your health should come first before work, without a proper diagnosis you could be putting yourself in danger. Keep us posted as to your progress.

460185 tn?1326081372 For diabetes (diaabetes mellitis) you would also see weight loss with increased appetite and also increased thirst and increased urination. The fur not growing back like you describe is not a common first sign of either condition, as far as I know. If he'll tolerate it, a sweater might not be a bad idea, at least temporarily. If he seems to be cold, then it might help.
