weight

Avatar n tn I'd like to know more about this med both from a neurologists view and from a weight loss specialists view.
Avatar m tn For four months, researchers looked for weight loss. The strict low-carb diet caused an average weight loss of 28 pounds; the big-breakfast version cut 23 pounds. However, after eight months, the strict dieters had regained 18 pounds. The big-breakfast eaters continued to drop weight, losing another 16.5 pounds. All told, those on the new diet lost more than 21 percent of their body weight, compared with just 4.5 percent for the low-carb group.
Avatar n tn I slept most of the time, felt flu-ish for days after each injection, developed a horrid Ribavirin cough that lasted almost the entire time, mouth sores, diarhea (sp), nausea, weight and hair loss, and severe depression among other things. Had to give up my career as a college professor and go on disability. But I cleared the virus at week 12 and I made it. Felt better almost immediately after stopping meds this January, but then sort of tapered off.
Avatar n tn I understand that it takes a long time to get this drug out of your system and the weight loss is very slow. I think that most of the 4 pound weight loss is because I fasted for a few days and took UltraClear which is a powdered "metabolic detoxification" product you mix with water. I used to only be able to get it through a doctor but now it is avaibale on the internet. It is a de-tox flush that I thought would help get Lexapro out of my system. I think it has helped.
Avatar n tn just out of habit...I feel like..weird if i don't. Then....after no major weight loss or gain.... I suddenly in June (just in time for swimsuit season....and I live on the coast in TX...so it sucked) I went from my 140 on a "fat" day....to 220 by the middle of August. So, in a month and a half I gained nearly 100 lbs. I never changed my eating or exercise habits until early September when for some reason I kept getting weaker and weaker....
862663 tn?1239062481 880 PH- Range good sometimes slightly acidic Vitamins and Minerals I take Chromium, Calcium Chelate, Magnesium, Pancreatin, Proteolytic Enzymes, Raw Pancreas Enzyme, Vitamin B Complex, Niacin, Lioptropic Factor, Vitamin C, C-enzyme Q, germanium, Vitamin E Oh and those Jenny Craigers – I ate their food for two weeks and gain 8 pounds.
Avatar n tn Also, if the bodygem said you needed roughly 1200 cals/d for weight loss, I really wouldn't go below that level because it can actually make it more difficult for you to lose weight. You also might want to consider seeing a Registered Dietitian but if you do, I'd make sure beforehand that they also have some type of exercise background (ACSM/ACE certification, Kinesiology Degree, etc.) I know it can be frustrating but don't lose hope.
Avatar n tn I went today for my first week weight check and my second shot.....my weight loss for my first week is 9.5 pounds!!!! Anyone else using Phentermine and B12? I would love to hear how other people have done on these meds. Good Luck to everyone trying...I want to hear your story!
Avatar m tn I lost about the same amount last nite (14 years ago, on tx) but gained it all back plus alot more and became diabetic. So the weight loss to me is not an issue.. I want to lose more. But its the excess skin I have that has me concerned. I am not going to let myself gain it back this time.
649848 tn?1534637300 6 lbs weight loss. Today I weighed and I’m down 1.4 lbs. In total 3lbs. I’m trying to at least lose a pound a week. I’m doing the keto way of eating which is a lifestyle not a diet. I’ve lost 15 lbs since october 7th so I’m feeling excited. Things are going good for me and it’s finally clicked that I need to seriously lose this weight. The holidays for me is the perfect time to start. With all the goodies around I can see myself gaining another 20lbs.
Avatar n tn Sorry to hear about your pain. Did your MRI view the spine? If there were no changes in the lumbar area then that is good. Sometimes with surgery, the nerve roots are stretched and that can cause pain. However, it is alittle far out from surgery. You may have a lymph node, or muscle hypertrophy that is causing problems with the nerve, but it is difficult to tell over the internet. I would suggest that seeing a neurologist might help to see if the pain fits a dermatome or not.
203342 tn?1328740807 The Bible is very clear that there will be animals in heaven: Isa 65:25 5 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent's food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain," says the LORD. NIV I have no doubt that our loving heavenly Father can resurrect our pets and make them part of our happiness in heaven.
Avatar n tn i have now lost 17 kilos (sorry don't know in pounds) since Nov, but no appetite loss or weight loss in the last two months. jan - march. very bad flare again. extreme fatigue, dizziness, nausea, lost cognitive capability again and also a severe loss of equilibrium which lasted about a week. it came on very suddenly and i have never expereinced this before, as i put my foot down it was if the floor moved down too.
Avatar f tn My meager weight loss hadn't allowed me to get by on one drug, so I got a what the heck attitude about it. Sigh. Maybe the "don't look at the digital readout on the scale" method of denial will keep my embarrassment about the weight from affecting the blood pressure. If the nurse doesn't tell me what it is. Of course, if I have to say "don't tell me," that will start the whole blushing/pressure raising bit anyway.
233488 tn?1310696703 It is important for him to follow up regularly with his ophthalmologist for a dilated retina and peripheral retina exam. He should see the Eye MD immediately with sudden increase of floaters, flashes or loss of peripheral vision. You need to ask he surgeon specifically about activity. As a generalization return to golf and tennis would be allowed by most surgeons after 7-10 days.
Avatar n tn I was seeing a doctor for weight loss and getting b12 injections. Along with the injections I was eating very much like a diabetic. Low fat, low carb and minimal sugars. While I was taking the B12 I was losing 15 - 25 lbs a month. I decided to continue eating the same and stop getting B12 injections and my weight loss slowed considerably and my energy levels decreased.
Avatar f tn I was thinking,(like I posted) that the weight loss I was experiencing was due to the Fentanyl patch that I started on in January of this year. Now, I'm thinking it's just because of the stronger pain meds. I've now lost 25 lbs. Thought it was slowing down, but just lost another 5 lbs. So I guess the answer is to force yourself to eat. I don't experience any particular cravings, but I've noticed that my taste buds have DEFINITELY changed. NOTHING seems to taste the same at all.

Avatar n tn There has to be some basis for good protocol for weight loss or anything else out there. Too many people focus on weight loss and not the inherent issue: Metabolism. Anyone can lose weight. You can pay any weight loss franchise and lose weight. Apply a basic weight loss protocol to the masses and you have yourself a money maker, a weight loss business. Then BOOM, there the weight comes back again, and sometimes more.
173975 tn?1216261375 Sorry to hear of your loss. I know exactly what you are feeling.. But know where she is now, she can see and hear, and run and play , and she will be waiting to greet you when the time comes. Its a rough time, but you will get thru it. Just as you will get thru treatment. SVR Well try to remember all the good times, and funny things she did. It helps you get thru it. We are always talking about the quirky little things that Cessna did. I still miss her..
Avatar m tn I lost 107 lbs while treating and have lost about 7 more, since finishing tx, but gained back 2 over the holiday.. LOL (As I just finished yummy brownies and milk...mmmm ). I am greatful for the weight loss though.. Tx was a blessing , in that manner.. And hopefully brings me to SVR. Fatigue was awful. Heavy arms. I am glad to be getting energy back. Last weekend I cleaned my entire house top to bottom, and then cooked all day on Christmas.
Avatar f tn The damage that occurs in the blood vessels results in a disease process called a 'vasculitis', and bleeding or clotting in the brain or other vital organs may occur. Loss of fluid from damaged vessels can result in loss of circulation to the extremities and damaged fingers, toes or even limbs may ultimately need to be amputated.
100019 tn?1335923317 html Upsides of accepting/adhering to this theory - Deliberately increasing LDL levels prior to commencement of treatment (and during treatment) may very well significantly increase antiviral performance and improve odds of achieving RVR, EVR and SVR. A calorie rich diet high in fat will also help stave off excess weight loss during treatment, which is a common side effect during a course of SOC. SOC treatment also appears to have a cholesterol lowering effect in some patients.
Avatar n tn Sorry for your recent loss. I was 33 when I had aortic valve surgery (aneurysm and valve repair). I went in with good health with very mild symptoms. There is certainly some risk with this major surgery, but it should be minimal with his age. Life after surgery will be much better, especially if he is feeling symptoms, but also because it will be over (less stress). Recovery will likely be quite fast. After a couple of months recovery, he'll feel years younger.
Avatar n tn I've just recently noticed the elbow thing and am FREAKED OUT! I do believe it's related to hormones but could also be illness and weight loss... But the good news is that I do find that my hands really respond when I moisturize and - a big help - use gloves when I wash dishes. The other thing is I recently lost a bunch of weight too, and that's when I noticed the skin on my elbows. I think at least some of the problem is from the weight loss, which makes some sense.

486038 tn?1300066967 These can be treated like any muscle problem - heat, ice, massage, and anti-inflammatories. You can help your weight loss by drinking Ensure supplements instead of milk. Unless you're lactose intolerant, that is! I'm glad your headache is finally diminishing, and again flabbergasted by the incompetence of this hospital.
