463707 tn?1218751631 You really have to hit the bottom and say ENOUGH! If you can do that, you are ready for a weight loss program. Peek-a-who and many of us on this site use weight watchers. I am a member on-line and it is not very expensive like most plans. That is a suggestion. However, if you do not want to join anything, there are many good plans you can follow on your own. Like Peek-a-who said, post a daily menu for yourself and she will modify it for you. She just reached her goal!!
Avatar n tn Anyway, I almost throw up on my first drink. But I am okay. I just hope that I loss the weight. I'm currently 183-19something (not quite sure). I want to be at least 140-145. So I'll keep everyone posted. Also I need you guys help with all this. Till next time.
Avatar n tn I understand that it takes a long time to get this drug out of your system and the weight loss is very slow. I think that most of the 4 pound weight loss is because I fasted for a few days and took UltraClear which is a powdered "metabolic detoxification" product you mix with water. I used to only be able to get it through a doctor but now it is avaibale on the internet. It is a de-tox flush that I thought would help get Lexapro out of my system. I think it has helped.
98010 tn?1305903335 So in other words because you can't explain it logically you think people are just doing it wrong? I lost weight/ maintained weight loss for 7 years happily, then at 40 staerted to train for half marathons. I cycle to work, do vibro plate combined with weights also walking. I have gained a stone since then and lots of muscle. The reason I know I wasn't eating more is that I followed the Slimming World programme throughout and still do.
Avatar f tn Your hormones will be messed up for years after stopping this shot. It will be your most difficult weight you ever lose. Weight loss is easier after pregnancy due to breast feeding and all the other hormones that go into effect after childbirth. I had always heard hormones are something very delicate that can be knocked out of kilter very easily. I was so happy to have such an easy form of birth control in DP, and was happy to be free of the periods. I will never do it again.
Avatar f tn Use daily journal to track calories in (meals and snacks) and calories out (exercise) 4. Set slow and steady weight loss goal, i.e. lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. 5. Get additional support, i.e. nutritionist, psychotherapist, exercise buddies or coaches. CDC or Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a wonderful web page on "Healthy Weight - it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle!". Please learn about how to lose weight in healthy ways. Good luck and take care!
579258 tn?1250652943 These are exactly the things we should think about and keep forefront in our minds as we start or continue our weight loss and exercise journey to a healthier lifestyle. We each have a choice to make as we face the holidays before us and if we truly enjoy our families, friendships and holiday festivities, we will want to partake in them for many years to come. The best way to assure this is to be healthy enough physically to actively participate and to be here as the years come and go.
597401 tn?1241272286 My husband and I had a discussion early in the diagnosis of this monster. I asked him what his goal was for me in this disease. He said that I didn't end up in a wheel chair. I told him mine was different.. .I told him my goal was that the pain did not drive me to suicide. Though, my secondary is that I don't end up in a wheel chair. I have a very tight schedule of working out, aerobics, weight lifting, house work, rest. . .diet.. . to 'manage' this disease.

Avatar n tn That is fantastic!!! I agree with everything you posted about the HCG. I know for a fact that my fat has been lost in the places it needed it most and my skin isnt saggy from it (Im down from 320 to 287!!) I get the HCG and lipo shots at my clinic and eat around 800 cals a day. Dr told me to switch up calorie amount to "trick" your metabolism and it works! I eat 800 for 2 weeks then 1000 for 2 weeks. I have 80 more to go but Im happy. I have lost 8.
579258 tn?1250652943 I do have other focuses for weight loss, the main one being my health of course. But picturing that baby is so much easier and gives me great focus.
579258 tn?1250652943 What a Scrumptious Sunday and a lovely day! Can you believe two weeks of the Challenge are behind us? Know there are many people participating in the challenge and believe the small responses to the posts on the weekends are due to people being active outdoors, busy with families and traveling! So ... perhaps everyone can update each other on what they've been doing over the weekend??? Here is your link for today ... http://www.ranaesheart.com/2000/10/welcome-to-believe-in-yourself_19.
921323 tn?1268679412 Over a year ago, I posted a blog arguing against the use of Human Growth Hormone as a weight loss supplement. But little did I know that when many people read “HGH,” they instead think “HCG.” Who knew? But as a result of this visual similarity, I’ve found that a good number of the posted comments were written in defense of this “miracle” diet, which combines supplementation with a hormone first detected in the urine of pregnant women (yep) and...a daily 500 calorie restriction.
Avatar f tn A modest weight loss of one pound every one to two weeks is advised. Reducing daily calories should be by 250 to 500 calories; total daily calories should not be less than 1,000 to 1,200 for women and 1,200 to 1,600 for men. Weight loss is different for each person and should be continued until a person reaches a target body mass index, or BMI (ask your provider about how to obtain this measurement.
Avatar n tn You cannot lose weight at a particular area. Weight loss is proportional and you would lose weight as you gained. You can recollect from you childhood, teenage and adulthood how you gained your weight. Cardio, cardio & more cardio combined with decreasing 500cals from the recommended calorie intake for your age . You have to sit with a dietician to spread the calories across your day. 2 meals should be salads, 1 meal fruit, 2 meals can be protein, fibre/complex carbohydrates and minimum fat.
29837 tn?1414538248 But again, for those who do not want to wade all through this, the benefit of marijuana smoking during treatment does not appear to be because of any anti-virologic activity, but because it may help to increase compliance by helping with side effects such as weight loss and nausea. Marijuana use outside of treatment remains controversial as some studies suggest it can increase fibrosis.
594189 tn?1386920207 I personally would not be able to go on a diet that didn't include all of the food groups. To me, a weight loss journey should be a life style change that a person can live with for the rest of their life, because if too many foods are restricted it's almost guaranteed that the weight will be gained back once "normal" eating is resumed. I wish you all the luck in the world with your new diet. Let us know how it works out for you.
Avatar n tn weighing 239 pounds and I loss 59 pounds in 4-5 months. My goal weight of 180 pounds sure looked GREAT on me!!! I have to admit; I did monitor my eating habits, detoxed my system and ate lots of fiber (Raisin Bran Cereal) with very little to NO exercise. IT WORKS but you must be committed and diligent in trying to monitoring your eating habits. If you're skeptical, don't be you have nothing to loss except weight.
Avatar n tn Because you are overweight, there is a strong chance that the diabetes might clear up on its own once you get down to normal weight. In fact, I've read that a loss of as little as 5 to 10 percent of your present weight might do the trick. You don't necessarily need to be a Skinny Minnie to get results. On the other hand, if you treat the hep c first, the meds might cause weight loss too - not the best way to get thin, but it does do that.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the encouragement. How often do you take the b-12 w/lipo shots? How much weight have you loss? Has the weight loss been a combination of the shots, revised eating habits and exercise? I don't hear a lot of people talking about exercise. I got a b-12 w/lipo shot but I quite honestly can say that I do not have any additional energy. I took it on wednesday of this past week. May be I need to take them more often then just once a week.
Avatar n tn Many on treatment have weight loss. Please tell me is this because you don't feel like eating? Or is it a side effect if you eat as usual or more than usual? I am week 25 and have developed an obsession for sweet biscuits, although my weight is hanging in at normal.
Avatar m tn Extreme fatigue ascites and/or edema in the feet, ankles, legs Vomiting blood due to variceal bleeding Hepatic encephalopathy - confusion to coma Yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes (jaundice) Loss of muscle mass in arms and legs Tendency to bleed and bruise easily skin changes (spider angiomata and palmar erythema) Any many more nasties... Now the signs of "compensated cirrhosis" are much more subtle and harder to diagnose then decompensated cirrhosis.
649848 tn?1534637300 _For those 20 to 59, an estimate of their lifetime risk of a heart attack or stroke can be considered using traditional factors like cholesterol and blood pressure to persuade them to change their lifestyle. _To fight obesity, doctors should develop individualized weight loss plans including a moderately reduced calorie diet, exercise and behavior strategies. The best ones offer two or three in-person meetings a month for at least six months.
Avatar f tn I'm glad you're feeling better :) I never had any symptoms except for the weight loss. My T3 & T4 have been in range for 2 years now, but my antibodies are high and my TSH is always low. As long as I don't gain weight with the Tapazole I'll stick with it and hope to go in remission also. I'm going for blood work in a little while and hoping to see a little improvement even though it's only been 4 weeks on the med.
Avatar n tn Phentermine is one of two drugs in the Fen-phen anti-obesity medication, the other being fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine. Fenfluramine was withdrawn from the U.S. market in 1997 after reports of valvular heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. Mechanism of action: Phentermine, as many other prescription drugs, works with neurotransmitters in the brain. It is a centrally-acting stimulant chemically related to the amphetamines.
Avatar n tn The fatigue I feel is just the same as the fatigue I felt prior to tx, along with appetite loss, trouble gaining any weight, hair loss, stomach upset and the list goes on. Would be glad to hear any thoughts on this.. Thank you..

Avatar m tn Personally if I were Ramesh, I'd do a full on change and test again in perhaps 3 to 6 months, just to see what lifestyle alone could accomplish. Even after that, subsequent weight loss would help even more. I do realize that if a doctor has 100 patients, and gives lifestyle changes to them, he'll only get less than 10 that will make drastic changes. Thus, from his perspective, he advises the meds right from the beginning.
