1046985 tn?1305120648 Has anyone got any advice, or stories of hope. I have heard that ovarian problems can cause weight gain, and that its almost a given with menopause, aaargh..
1519983 tn?1401050028 My weight has been pretty good through this whole pregnancy. I'm a little nervous about the end though. I hear crazy stories about women putting on 30 plus pounds the last trimester. I'm trying to keep it as steady as possible. I jump all over the place all the time because of water retention I believe. I wonder how I can pevent too much water retention? i can feel Brooke more when I'm not bloated which i love. I'm just going to keep walking/ moving daily and try to drink my water.
Avatar f tn I've lost weight before and I WILL do it again. I've heard stories of women gaining 60+ and bouncing back quickly. Don't be too hars on yourself. Weight gain during pregnancy is inevitable to a certain degree.
Avatar f tn Is this about the use of MCG for the weight gain and results of a complete hysterectomy? Iwould like to lose the 20 lbs. I gained after my hyst. but I don't want a diet program that only works short term if I stop some sort of medication.
Avatar n tn I gained five pounds right after my first miscarriage and with this last one, I have worked my butt off to not gain anymore--also in hopes of dropping the weight from the first. I have yet to drop the weight. I have also had a lot of water retention and this is something that I have never experienced at all until these miscarriages. It is very frustrating. I am trying to be patient.
Avatar n tn (15 in the last 6 months) while continuing to diet and exercise the entire time (I have changed nothing and in fact have increased my exercise). This rapid unexplained weight gain has me going crazy. My thyroid has been tested and is well within normal range---my Dr thinks it's all just due to menapause--but this seems SO excessive especially for someone like me who is SO disciplined with my diet and also with exercise. WHat else could this be????
Avatar n tn I had a hyster in 05. Same situation as all of you. I have gained 23lbs after working at Weight Watchers and losing 52lbs in 03. I have started researching weight gain and hysterectomies just yesterday. I am a Christian, believer in JC.
Avatar f tn I know what you mean about the weight gain and self-esteem. I had lost a lot of weight and was thinner than I'd been in probably 20 years. I was riding and had a nice, flat stomach. Then we moved to this place and everything fell apart. I gained 25 pounds over 2 years. I got rid of some of it, but I feel like a whale. I hate how my clothes look. That is why I really, really hope that I don't gain anything on the lithium. It would be a huge blow. Thanks for the input.
Avatar f tn I walk 2-3 miles a day, do pilates, and ab work outs and eat a healthy diet low in fats, and avoid processed meats. The weight gain is predominantly in the mid section. I have never had such a spare tire in my life and it began shortly after taking Synthroid. The Doctors say Synthroid does not cause weight gain, but the scale does not lie. The only thing that changed in my life was the Synthroid and then the weight gain began. Why do the Doctors deny Synthroid is causing my weight gain?
Avatar n tn I now am wondering too if I go off WB, being on 300 mg to switch to something else (as still know I need an antidepressant) will I gain more weight coming off?? hope this comment helps with people in post menopause and as well would appreciate hearing more comments around coming off WB.

1498386 tn?1403031253 I guess my main question is are there ANY success stories out there of women losing weight with PCOS and taking metformin? I could really use some encouragement. I want so bad to start our family, but if I am this uncomfortable being my weight now, I fear how I will feel being pregnant.
1564935 tn?1298601529 Keep trying but keep your sexual relationship intimate, don't make it a job, that's just one more stresser while trying to conceive. In the meantime try losing weight...they say even a change as small as 10lbs increases your chances in becoming pregnant. I really want to stress the weight issue bc being overweight you put yourself and your baby at risk of major complications that can be prevented if you were at a healthier weight.
Avatar n tn ( I don't trust this recent weight loss for some reason It seems like as soon as I lose 2 pounds, i gain 3. In a year I've gone from a size 6 to a size 14. UGH. GRAVESLADY - doesn't synthroid speed up your metabolism? Isn't that what makes you lose weight?
Avatar n tn so i took my last dose of depo in march i wonder will i gain any weight back because i look like a child.
Avatar n tn i think that with drugs like effexor, the only way to lose the weight you gain from them is to go off of them ( i am not suggesting that, esp if it helps you to feel better)- just saying that from what ive heard, as long as they are in your body, they alter your metabolism and make it super slow, making it nearly impossible to lose weight and a sure way to gain weight. i have heard that in some cases they alter your metabolism permanantly, but i am skeptical of that.
Avatar n tn After avoiding zoloft, I was walking 9 miles a day, but, w/o any weight loss.... In the end, Zoloft reduced depression/anxiety, weight gain started to create anxiety issues. In the long term, zoloft seemed to be quite ineffective.
232077 tn?1218426943 Then I read all the stories about the weight gain, bitchiness, violent mood swings, hair loss, migraines, etc etc. with other forms of BC that I just don't know what to do! I had the Mirena IUD put in this past May and had it taken out within a month because I became very ill. My current gyn thinks this was because of all the endo and enlarged ovaries that were undetected along with the new added hormones that caused my problems. I still don't want it back in though.
365714 tn?1292202708 The so called beer belly can be a sign of liver disease, but at first it starts out as weight gain by drinking too much. However if they continue to drink, it will most likely will indicate liver disease. As Suzyq0826 stated they skin and eyes will start turning yellow when the liver stops functioning as it should. Sadly it is hard to convince an alcoholic that he needs to see a doctor.
Avatar n tn Other than I stopped smoking back in March,,, so I expected to gain a few pounds there,, but this weight gain started long before that even. I have gained nearly 50/60 lbs in the past 3 years or maybe a little less time. So i could correct the 'rapid' part a little bit,, but still,,, it is way more than ever before in my lifetime. I barely recognize myself in the mirror anymore and it doesnt seem to be getting any better.
541465 tn?1219431486 So, I guess you must literily take in the good and weight it in with the bad.... Alot of pple DO gain weight... but they were used to NOT eating at all, and running all over town to get their fix...so, when they stopped that, they became sedemetary /w their lifestyles, and started eating... thus, the weight poured on. I havent yet felt like working out because my dosage still isnt stable, but I used to before I became an addict.
Avatar n tn The funny thing is that I have a trainer and do at least 1 hour of cardio 7 days a week and still gained weight! I feel horrible. In fact, the weight gain is making me depressed. I would rather be thin and anxious than fat and chilled. I am in the process of tapering off it and and I feel like ****. It is horrible. I wish that others knew the truth of this horrible drug. The positive of drug is that it took away my anxiety and I felt great despite getting fat!
299260 tn?1304219705 So, any info is appreciated =) Congrats on getting your doppler! That's awesome! I woud think you'd still count your weight gain from your pre-pregnancy weight even though it fluctuated. I hope ds feels better! ;) Hannah: Good luck today! sbumblebeeo: Yay, Happy 9 Weeks!!! =) Kaylee: Happy 35 Weeks! How are you & Hayden doing?!
299260 tn?1304219705 ) I didn't gain any weight this past week, but I've been pretty steady with gaining 1 pound per week the past month or so. My nutritionist today said it's ok I didn't gain this week because I gained adequately all along. Geez, I'm 172 pounds! I can hardly believe it! :) dnikki: Looking forward to seeing Peyton's pics! :) Stacey: Thanks :) Good to know! I guess it all depends on how my diabetes does after the babies are born. I can't have alcohol anyway if my glucose doesn't regulate.
299260 tn?1304219705 A Woman Of Strength A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape… But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape. A strong woman isn't afraid of anything… But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear. A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her… But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

299260 tn?1304219705 I started doing Zumba class on Monday trying to keep my weight under control, last time I was with Lupron I gain 10lbs in one month, I am having lots of fun with the Zumba class, I mess up the routine, and try to do it my style, which I really don't have, sooo I guess I must look very funny trying to follow all the moves, LOL ;o)....and I am still hoping the time goes by fast and June is here really soon! Happy Wednesday ALL!
Avatar n tn All labs for ova, parasites and infection have been negative. Does this in illness in any way suggest pancreatic involvement to you? Two nontreating physicians (non GI physicians) have suggested that perhaps this could be fatty tumors in the pancreas. As a GI specialist does that make sense to you as far as investigating for that?
