Avatar f tn I got diagnosed with hsv2 last fall. After continual outbreaks my doc finally put me on suppression therapy. I've had weight gain depression and now joint pain. It's a 6 month dose and one month to go. Does the joint pain go away after dosage is done? Does the weight come off? I exercise regularly and eat properly. Depression I know is a mental battle. I just don't like the joint pain as I'm trying to get this weight off.

Avatar n tn It is possible to lose or gain weight. (Personally, I gained weight.) A list of non-joint related symptoms include but are not limited to: Fatigue. A loss of appetite. Weight loss. Mild fever. Numbness and tingling in the hands. Are either of you being treated for RA and/or the pain associated with it? What are you taking?
Avatar f tn What type of exercises are you doing? For how long each day? How many calories are you eating each day and what type of foods? Have you had your thyroid checked to make sure you don't have hypothyroidism? Hypothyroidism is a major cause of weight gain/inability to lose weight. Ask your doctor to test TSH, Free T3 and Free T4.
Avatar f tn I have fatigue and no motivation to do anything. I have weight gain and hair loss. I also get kidney stones frequently. I have tested for autoimmune diseases and they came back negative but my CRP was elevated. My NP said she thought it was an overuse injury because I have 2 kids. It doesn't make sense to me. I have also developed a red rash across my cheeks and nose. I have typical lupus symptoms but tested negative What else could it be?
Avatar n tn Yes thyroid problems can cause muscle, and joint pain along with the headache and weight gain. The first time when I responded to your comment I didn't know about the weight gain issues because you didn't mention them. Hopefully after you begin treatment for your thyroid, you will feel better soon.
Avatar n tn Also, make sure you drink plenty of water (not soda or juices) and that you walk a lot... A LOT (walking will help also with your joint and back pain later on in pregnancy and when your belly grows). Sleep is important too, because lack of it puts your body in alert stage and makes you store food to have spare of energy! Good luck!

1176578 tn?1263753089 I have gained a tremendous amount of weight (50 pounds) in the past two years and due to the pain I experience when exercising, have not gotten it, which I know aggravates the arthritis, under control yet. I know the weight gain is stressing my joints to the max. I have made a commitment this year to curb my emotional eating and follow a very strict exercise routine (walking, yoga, stationary bike and strengthening/stretching exercises) and do my best to get this weight off now!
Avatar m tn Typical symptoms of hypothyroidism might be fatigue, constipation, weight gain, dry skin/hair, hair loss, muscle/joint pain. Typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism might be fatigue, diarrhea, weight loss, mood swings, and of course, the rapid heart rate/palpitations. Some symptoms, such as fatigue and muscle/joint pain can apply to either/both. Please post your actual thyroid hormone levels and be sure to include reference ranges, which vary lab to lab, so we can better assess your situation.

I firmly believe that PCOS started these issues with my immune system. You are not crazy..the pain is real!! My 17 year old daughter is now experiencing the same problems & going to an OBGYN next week for an ultrasound. Good luck & God bless you! Praying for you today.
Avatar n tn If she does not take any replacement and her TSH goes too high for too long she can become physically and mentally sluggish, develop muscle and joint pain, lose great amounts of her hair, gain weight from the inactivity caused by the fatigue and muscle aches and/or also gain 10-15% of her weight in water, have increased cholesterol, develop heart problems (my aunt had a heart attack at age 30 from her thyroid, it's rare because most people take treatment, but my aunt wasn't taking tre
