Avatar f tn I started taking Birth Control less than a month ago and every few days I start feeling edgy, and have a hard time falling asleep. I have also awaken feeling this way too. It doesnt last long. Could this mean my dosage is too high? I actually dont want to even take the pill. Taking anxiety medication is enough pills for me. Im only 31.
332156 tn?1266846739 well i am not a doctor but...i have known a couple of people that were on birth control and got pregnant...so there is always a chance...if you arent looking to get pregnant...i would recommend using other forms of birth contol in addition to the pill. it sounds like your doctor is putting you on the pill to regulate your period only....not trying to get you pregnant...even if he knows you want future children...
Avatar n tn I eventually stopped taking the dex and over the last few years have tried to incorporate paxil and other SSRI's to help with my anxiety and depression but to no avail. I tried diets and exercise and strict calorie control but still seemed to gain weight. Yet over the last two years a new medicine has hit the shelves that seems to help with the excess weight gain. It is a migraine medicine called TOPAMAX.
9797462 tn?1410755278 I've never been on any birth control before. I've heard the pill helps with acne? True or false? If so, I have bad.acne and would love if it is true lol. Anyways, please post your preferences or stories of usage? Thx!
1257808 tn?1322765815 Thyroid does have a huge affect on your metabolism rate and thus your weight. Too high and you can loose weight, too low and you'll gain weight. Thyroid is also associated with mood including depression and anxiety. Some people can get off of or have no need to take anti-depressants or anti anxiety medicine simply by getting their Thyroid levels balanced correctly. However there are other hormones in your body as well. They all have to be in proper balance and that can be tricky.
Avatar n tn Because the whole point of it is for it to help your body accept insulin so it can get obsorbed, and people with insulin resistance and PCOS are usually over weight and its sapose to help control your weight if not make you loose some. I have not taken this medication yet but I was recent diagnoised with PCOS and the dr. wants to put me on this med. I want to have children so will this help me regulate my periods to become pregnant??? Do I have to get off of this med to get pregnant??
Avatar f tn Any new activity may be avoided due to it being difficult with motor planning problems. Another issue with sensory integration disorder is something called regulation/modulation of mood. A child with sensory will often have a difficult time self soothing or calming themselves. My son has this issue as well. He was evaluted at 3 for sensory and it was inconclusive. It is difficult for little ones to be assessed because there is so much variability amongst that age.
Avatar f tn I went off birth control 5 years ago and have been fine since then. Good riddens to birth control pills.....I now have an IUD and have gained my weight back. I had no clue what was wrong with me at the time, but looking back I had a HUGE problem. Good luck to all of you. My advice is get out while you still can. I caused alot of bodily harm while on birth control. My bones suffered from not enough calcium, my muscles deteriorated, and my teeth were a mess.
Avatar n tn While surgical repair usually abolishes the aortic arch gradient, systemic blood pressure often remains abnormal and may increase with time, even in those who became normotensive early after repair. The mechanisms for these abnormalities of long-term blood pressure regulation remain unclear. Furthermore, treatment in later life may be less effective, as long-term studies have shown persistent hypertension and decreased survival in those who were operated on in adolescence and adulthood.
Avatar n tn Its all a matter of self control. Just don't eat as much. I Never gained any weight. Makes you sedentary too, go exercise. Feel better.
162784 tn?1227299650 So I was just wondering is this supposed to continue or is it temporary like the weight gain some people get when first on the pill?? Please, somebody tell me their weight gain was only for a month or two. AAARGH!!!
Avatar f tn Initially I felt great but slowly started feeling bad. Stopped the iodine but the weight has not gone away. Got lab work recently and no one seems concerned. Everyone says it's just perimenopause. Any thoughts or what I can do to readjust myself naturally. All I take right now is KAL Blood Sugar Defense thyrotropin .67 (range.5-5), free thyroxine .85 (range .8-2.7), TSH 1.45 (range .27-4.20) I have other labs if they would be helpful.
Avatar n tn I do feel in control of my depression but I seem to have no control over my weight. I am hopeful that after I am off the drug 100% that my body will return to some kind of normal - fingers crossed! Please everyone keep posting - I want to know how things are going for you too. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Do you think once you are down to your target weight that will be that. You will control that orginal primal appetite? Alot of people dont (some do- very few), I think you need to approach this long term and realistically. O.k you have the diet sorted now with your club thingy. Now you need to address this BMR that has caused you to gain fat. How? Very simple. Gain Lean muscles mass.
Avatar n tn I am a bit over weight and have no energy. I am hoping to find some good eating habits for hepatitis people and some energy gaining diet tips. I just figure if there is less of me...It wont take so much energy to just be. Also. What about liver cleanse. I am just tired of being tired. God bless you all and thanks.
Avatar n tn I decided to take a break from my weight 'loss' (more like control or regulation) goals. I feel I went overboard, because I ate a lot. Overall, though, I felt pretty good in general, which is good. Fatigue was better: first full day of school. Didn't have to sit out in drumline, either.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions for losing weight while on thyroid replacement meds? It seems like I just can't seem to lose weight and am getting discouraged.
Avatar m tn com/2011/04/13/raw-sangha-154-meat-glue-a-k-a-transglutaminase/ The saddest part of this entire story is that there is no regulation for using these products in the United States. So if you’re a meat eater chances are you’ve already ingested meat glue and didn’t have any opportunity to decline. In the European Union this product has been banned from use along with genetically modified foods in most places, I wonder why it’s taking the United States so long to catch up.
Avatar n tn I am now 22 and my periods are so irregular! I had a miscarriage in July. My doctor wants to put me on birth control for a few months and then time ovulation, but when you are trying to conceive the last thing you want is birth control! Im thinking about going on femaprin same thing as vitex. I just want regular periods! My doctor said if I lost weight i would probably get a regular cycle, so thats what im doing now, but its just so frustruating. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn The goal of RAI with a "hot nodule" is to ablate that nodule and most of the time for hot nodules we use 20-29mCi of I-131. There is no data supporting "natural medicine" for this situation. Stabilizing thyroid function may help with weight regulation - but like the 2/3 of Americans who are overweight - it's primarily not the thyroid causing the problem!
Avatar f tn Well I'm 25 years old and seeking desperate help for regulation. I conceived my first child at age 17 after misuse of orthotricyclen. Because of my mistake, I got on the depo shot to prevent future unplanned pregnancies. At age 21 I missed a shot in Feb08 and because of annual enrollment for insurance on my job was not until Nov08 I was no longer receiving birth control. I turned 22 Sep08 and became pregnant AGAIN(did not know until my check-up in mid Nov)!
Avatar f tn It is important that you make sure the BP and blood cholesterol are in normal range, body weight is under control, complete abstinence from smoking, regulation of alcohol intake. Regular physical and mental exercises will also help. Low dose aspirin also helps.

Avatar f tn and if you aren't trying to have a child, birth control should help with just regulation your periods.
Avatar m tn Losing weight and being treated for sleep apnea is not an either/or proposition. If you lost the weight there is a chance you wouldn't need treatment (no guarantee, just a chance), and treatment is designed for those with it, not without it. If a doctor told you you had to lose weight BEFORE being treated, you need a different doctor. If you have SA, being treated while whatever efforts to lose weight are taking place is important.
Avatar n tn I assume they believe you have the polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS, in which weight loss may result in regulation of menses. This can be aided by the use of Metformin). If you are very overweight and have not had a regular menses an endometrial biopsy is not out of the question. I'd also suggest checking a TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) to make sure that is normal. Another consideration would be to assess your uterine cavity for polyps and or fibroids.
Avatar m tn Hi, back in September 2008, I was diagnosed with H. Pylori and was put on antibiotics & pills to control the acid reflux part. In the past week (December 08), I've had heartburn off and on the past few days. It's not as bad as when I first was diagnosed with the H. Pylori. I'm burping off & on, occasional sore throat (that might also be from the sinus drainage I'm having too), and heartburn.
Avatar f tn About 10 yrs ago, I suddenly started to put on weight - I doubled my weight in just over a year! I've had numerous blood tests which all show that I am in the 'normal' range. What is normal? What's normal for my neighbour may not be normal for me! I've yet to find a doctor who can tell me the answer to that question!!!! I then found a local charity who were looking for people who presented with Thyroid symptoms but had tested 'normal'.
Avatar m tn Hi and welcome to the Spinal Cord C/D forum. I would suggest talking with her Drs as to what they feel is best for her...most times it will be a form of diet and exercise....even if the exercise is walking.....but do find out from her Dr what is ok for her to be doing. Keep us posted on her progress.
