I have an older Yorkie. very sensitive skin..lately extremely bad flea prob. I use dawn dish soap, instant flea killer. I know bathing Maddie, my Yorkie, frequent is not good. I have no other thoughts about giving her relief from fleas. her skin has become bright red, past irritated, blotchy? and there's sore type things. looks like weird ant bites & recently noticed a dime size hard white mass, idk what to call it, on her front paw. I possibly can def be over thinking these issues.

Our puppy does not feel safe unless she is touching someone! Our kids have even noticed this trait! Kills who harm animals have been proven to have many social issues. My 8 month old Yorkie began feeling ill a couple of days ago so I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with pancreatis. He took his temp. and it was 102.9 He kept him for a two days and sent him home with PancreaTabs and Clindamycin Hydrochloride. He has not vomitted or has not had diarreha. He is very weak. After lying around for a bit he gets up limping and kinda yelps. He is drinking and eating fairly well. He has not had any table food and eats only Beniful.

Hello, I have a 5 month old Yorkie. Since I have had him he does this real quick cough. Sometimes when he is playing or drinks water. It kinda sounds like a gag. Or someone clearing there throat. He is also very itchy.

Took my ten month old puppy (mixed breed poodle, chihuahua, yorkie, pitbull) to the vet for a pre-op checkup and bloodwork before spaying surgery. Dr said she’s really healthy and her blood work was normal and she didn’t have heart worms. Dr gave me two chewables by Nexgard and Heartgard for heart worm, flea & tick prevention. She told me to wait a day to give them to her at the same time. I did it the next day. Puppy had a seizure a few hours later.

It seems MaggieMae has had an anal sac burst. there is no swelling, and has been no more blood since. She seems fine and the vet did not seem to worried. Thansks for your concern. :).. So we have had our puppy since she was 3 months old and she is approaching 4 months on Sept 2nd. She is a yorkie shih poo and can hold her bladder all night and day no problems whatsoever, however if we dont watch her she will just go inside randomly. Is this normal? She loves the carpet for some reason. Will not do it on the tile or anything just on the carpet. We watch her like a hawk and if we cant we put her in her crate.

there is no contrainidcation whatsoever to having or taking care of a dog while immunsouppressed as long as the dog has had the standard shots. cats are different because of the risk of organisms in their litter box. Enjoy the dog and congratulations on doing so well post transplantation.

well after much debating in the kitty room my mom wondered off to the puppy/dog area. we were watching the puppies play and there was this little black fur ball sitting in the corner all by himself. he was VERY shy and scared (which he's not shy with the family but is a TOTAL scardy cat!). of course we decided on the little odd ball sitting by himself. that was 10 months ago and now our little fur ball is a big beautiful 1 year old ....mutt of some sort.

Do you mean yorkshire terrier (yorkie)? If so, I have 2, both males, and their personalities couldn't be more different, so that really varies depending on the dog. Both are good with kids, but one is really mellow and laid back and the other is super hyper. One was easy to train and the other is very stubborn and difficult to train. Both are good with other animals. As for food, that is a personal choice.

Your puppy needs to be seen by an emergency vet TONIGHT. A nine week old small breed puppy has absolutely no defenses against something like this and from your description of her behavior afterward, she could have sustained serious injuries. Normally, if a puppy gets a minor injury, say, if they get their paw stepped on, they will yipe and act like it's the end of the world for a minute or two but then they'll be right back to running around playing.

Try to stage it in advance and then set the puppy down near it and get a taste of it. We tried this a couple of times and our puppy does not pursue it any longer.
