Common Questions and Answers about Weight chart obese

weight

Avatar f tn While exercise has lots of benefits, some people find that it only contributes a relatively smaller amount to weight loss. I tend to believe that weight loss is primarily diet controlled - both portions and the quality of what you eat. Without knowing more about what you eat and drink each day (a food diary is really helpful with that!) it can be hard to know where to start cutting back.

Avatar n tn Hello, I read/heard that for women that are obese with a large BMI, the birth control pill is ineffective. If this is true, should we talk to our doctor about having a lrger dose of birth control as the regular.low dose ones may not be good enough?
6935419 tn?1392153040 I have heard that before but I think they are referring to very very large women instead. I am also considered obese on the bmi chart and I could stand to lose some weight yes but I wouldn't look at someone my size and say they were obese.
Avatar n tn Please control your weight and calculate your BMI : being obese will lead you into problems like ligament sprains etc. while doing active work. Go and visit an Orthopaedician and ascertain the damage you have done and go for treatment and follow a healthy lifestyle: good diet chart coupled with cardio. Take some anti inflammatory drugs to relieve the inflammation and pain. Take care!
Avatar f tn As long as your not starving yourself you are fine!! And dont worry about your doc. The medical field uses your BMI chart to determine your level of "obese" or fatness not your ACTUALLY fat % compared to your weight. It is measured through height and weight not any actually science. It doesnt consider where your fat is either. Like mine, where it is all in my butt and boobs!! Lol Im classified as obese as well.
Avatar f tn 5"7'=67 inches overall. According to the BMI chart, 143 lbs. is normal. If you were over 153 lbs, you'd be overwieght. If you were over 185 lbs, you'd be obese. If you were over 249 lbs, you'd be extremely obese. You're only 13, you shouldn't be worried about your weight unless you're in the obese range.
10389360 tn?1410823968 OK, so I've just used an online pregnancy BMI calculator and I got the result as being "obese"!! I'm 34 weeks, 5'7 and 192lbs. Was about 155-160 prepregnancy. I go to the gym 4-6 days per week, still fit in all the same clothes I've been wearing since early second trimester...I don't feel "obese" at all!! I've obviously gained some weight but always get complimented on how great I look.
1938479 tn?1325705620 If Arnold Schwarzenegger was to use a BMI (weight vs height) chart while bodybuilding, it would have classified him as obese. Another way to look at fat versus muscles is that a cubic inch of muscle will weigh more than a cubic inch of fat. Muscle is about 18 percent more dense than fat. So a better question is am I in shape or do i need to convert more areas of fat to muscle? With that said, here is a weight chart that should only be used to give you an idea, so don't take it as gospel.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the reply, I've not actually had any morning sickness. But I can't wait to feel my bubba :3 Hopefully i will lose a little weight. If not will strata going swimming once bubba is here.
Avatar f tn but i ignore what they have to say and just use it to see the chart effect of my weight change. see if its a steady rise or if there are dips or anything like that. the important thing is what your doctor says and how you are feeling. i didn't find their bbt chart all that reliable either. so i would take their message with a grain of salt.
Avatar f tn I lost 25 lbs in 4 days I didn't breast feed. That's why the doctor says you should only gain up to 30lbs while your pregnant depending on how big you are already if you're obese you should gain 15-20. But yes you can actually good the chart about everything you gain I was surprised.
14296391 tn?1434136829 Fibromyalgia symptoms are often linked to hypothyroidism and obesity/weight gain/inability to lose is a prime symptom of hypothyroidism, as is muscle aches/pain, weakness and fatigue/exhaustion... If your thyroid hormone levels haven't been tested, you should talk to your doctor about getting them tested to make sure that's not your problem, as adequate thyroid hormones can go a long way toward helping you reach a weight goal.
319399 tn?1254531681 I started exercising and watching my calories for about a month now. I need to loose 50 lbs because i am obese. Anyways, it doesn't seem as if it is working for me. I have stopped drinking juices all together and is now drinking plenty of water instead, but it seem as if i am gaining instead of loosing weight. I don't know what else to do. I mean if dieting and exercise doesn't work, what exactly will?? I am so frustrated. What is the problem???
Avatar m tn that depends on how much your start weight is. if you are obese, you can shed 50 pounds in 3 month, with a healthy diet and lots of exercise. However, if you are only overweight, it will be very difficult to lose this amount i such a short time and still be healthy. If you don't have the money to go to the gym I advise you to get at least a fitness assessment. these cost around Euro 20. a professional can draw up a fitness regime for you to take home.
Avatar f tn I am an obese female with a current medical condition, I want to lose weight especially around my stomach area but i was cautioned to take it easy with difficult exercises because of my size. Tell me what kind of exercise would be good for me to lose this stomach area.
Avatar m tn The Weight Tracker Stats uses BMI alone to determine what weight range a person is in. However, although BMI is accurate for some people, it is not accurate for everyone. Therefore, I suggest using other indicators as well, such as Body Fat Percentage, Waist to Height Ratio, Waist to Hip Ratio, and Waist to Chest Ratio. I also suggest allowing users to choose one or more of these to display in the Weight Tracker Stats. The following categories for each can be found at https://sites.google.
Avatar f tn This is my first pregnancy. Please no bashing. Has anyone had a healthy obese pregnancy before? Looking for some encouragement.
82861 tn?1333453911 Didn't get lost. Scroll down. I gave a response on Oct 2. This was it- Take him to the vet. They need to be able to see him physically to determine if he is overweight, by how much, and what needs to be done. It is hard to say without seeing him, because even dogs of a certain breed can be bigger than the standard and not be overweight. For example, my Min Pin has a much larger build than most Min Pins, so if she weighed what those teeny tiny Min Pins weigh, she'd be under weight.
284738 tn?1283106819 Um NO! I can't believe a doctor would tell you this. Even obese women are given the green light to gain 11 to 20 lbs during pregnancy. Infact, if you look over on the Maternal & Child Forum, peekawho just posted the most recent pregnancy weight gain stats/chart. And it says the thing I just wrote about the obese thing. You might want to think about getting another doctor.
Avatar n tn I doubt that any doctor would support a weight loss goal of 25 lbs. per month unless you would be morbidly obese. Most of the weight you would lose would be water weight anyway, and it would come back quickly. I recently consulted with a weight loss doctor who prescribed a sensible diet (moderately low carb) and the medication Adipex. That combination was magic for me. The diet resulted in rapid weight loss, and the prescribed medication made it easier for me to follow the diet.
Avatar f tn I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am 5'3 & weigh 212 pre pregnancy weight.
