Avatar f tn She has always had a major weight issue she is 21 yrs about 5' 330 lbs. However, Two days ago I took her to a fair and thought we'd hit the rides seeing I had another friend come along also. The sad news is once we go on the rides the guy that ran the ride told my friend she couldn't go on the ride because she was too big. I noticed her having to stop and sit down almost every 5 minutes. She was panting really heavily and sweating.
Avatar f tn While exercise has lots of benefits, some people find that it only contributes a relatively smaller amount to weight loss. I tend to believe that weight loss is primarily diet controlled - both portions and the quality of what you eat. Without knowing more about what you eat and drink each day (a food diary is really helpful with that!) it can be hard to know where to start cutting back.
140437 tn?1215113342 The charts indicating weight to height ratio totally contradict the BMI ranges for normal, overweight and obese.
10389360 tn?1410827568 Clearly the weight gain is getting to my head and I'm very down and upset about it. Ugh. But obese?!?!
Avatar f tn but i ignore what they have to say and just use it to see the chart effect of my weight change. see if its a steady rise or if there are dips or anything like that. the important thing is what your doctor says and how you are feeling. i didn't find their bbt chart all that reliable either. so i would take their message with a grain of salt.
Avatar n tn and once I have completed the antibiotics is there a chance of losing the weight? or at least stopping the weight gain. Aside from the vanity point of losing the weight I am sure it makes the arthritis and numbness worse to be carrying around 40 - 50 extra pounds. I simply don't know how to fix this problem, as crazy as that sounds.
Avatar m tn Does it make a diff if the obese woman had FET and was getting progesterone shots thru the whole pregnancy (stopped about a month or so ago)? There is no hypertension or GD or anything bad. Has anyone heard of ANYONE'S twin pregnancy going that long? IF you were the ob would you be unfailingly checking the woman every few days or once a week?

Avatar f tn I would also suggest recalculating your calories intake with the recommendations mentioned in the previous post and creating a diet chart accordingly. With gradual and consistent efforts you should be able to lose weight in a healthy way. Hope this is useful. Take care!
476246 tn?1418874514 Meaning that I am normal weight. On the tracker chart, it puts me at 2977. This would put me on the border of obese. BMI Categories: Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5-24.9 Overweight = 25-29.
1626068 tn?1303760162 5 * 2.7889 Weight (minimum) = 51.6 kg 24.9 = weight / (1.67)^2 weight = 24.9 * 2.7889 Weight (maximum) = 69.44 kg So the healthy weight range for someone with 1.67 m is between 51.6 to 69.44 kg. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I am not wild about stigmatizing people, though, and often discussions about weight become accusatory or insulting. Smokers and the obese are the last acceptable folks to bash on. As a smoker, I get lots of unsolicited comments and advice. My overweight friends and relatives get dirty looks, especially if they eat anything. Apparently, they are never allowed to eat in public. What has happened to me before is gaining maybe 3 pounds a year. It's so slow you hardly notice.
Avatar f tn As long as your not starving yourself you are fine!! And dont worry about your doc. The medical field uses your BMI chart to determine your level of "obese" or fatness not your ACTUALLY fat % compared to your weight. It is measured through height and weight not any actually science. It doesnt consider where your fat is either. Like mine, where it is all in my butt and boobs!! Lol Im classified as obese as well.
Avatar n tn I would say that it is a 50/50 chance whether you would lose weight in the long run as the product wasn't designed as a weight loss product. (but I'm not a doctor so your dr. might be able to tell you what to expect).
Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
311053 tn?1203459505 I have had 2 pregnancies being overweight...one I started out barely being considered overweight...the other I was closer to "obese" on the chart...both were uneventful full term healthy pregnancies..With ALL my full term pregnancies (4) my 1 hr glucose came back high but all of my 3 hr ones came back normal. I am now pregnant again (14 wks) and considered overweight again so we'll see how this goes.
Avatar f tn That's why the doctor says you should only gain up to 30lbs while your pregnant depending on how big you are already if you're obese you should gain 15-20. But yes you can actually good the chart about everything you gain I was surprised.
9764007 tn?1405811428 I am of average size. Was 5 lbs heavier than what I normally am when I got pregnant honestly but as long as your baby is healthy!
119874 tn?1189759429 5 or so mg per kg of body weight. Generally, I think you want to be over 15. Divide your weight in lbs by 2.2 to get kg. 165/2.2 = 75kg 75kg X 15.5 = 1,162.5 mg or supposing you were taking 800 mg for 165 lbs: 165/2.2 = 75kg 800kg/75kg = 10.6 (quite a bit outside of our 13.3 - 15.

Avatar f tn I used to be quite active - at least 30 minutes a day of running or eliptical 6 days a week plus weight training 3 days a week. I hurt my back and got busy with work about 12 months ago and had to stop working out. I only gained a couple lbs - up to like 125. I held steady there for about 9 months. Then, like 3 months ago, I went up to like 127-130. No biggie but I started watching what I was eating a bit more.
Avatar n tn and further more the very next morning i swear....i have gained more weight! i am literally gaining weight EVERY DAY.
Avatar n tn I was looking back on my weight loss chart and saw that within 3 weeks of starting lexapro each time, I had a significant weight gain. I went from 175 to 185 the first time and then continued to gain despite following the program and exercising. When I went off the med, the weight began to drop and I made it down below 200. I started it again in February this year and within 3 weeks, here came another 10 pounds and it's been steadilly going up ever since.
Avatar m tn I just went for my check up yesterday and I weigh 189lbs. I can't lose any weight. Also, I have Asthma so my ability to exercise is limited however I am so tired that I am not exercising at all. I used to do Aerobics everyday and dance and now I can't even dance to one song I am all out of breath. Can someone please help me and tell me how to eat and what I can do to lose the weight. I am getting so depressed because of this and very unhappy. I can't stand to look in the mirror.
Avatar n tn Since then I have been biking off 500+ calories a DAY - per the digital readout on my bike. My problem - I'm not losing ANY weight...I've gained 2 pounds!!! I did notice that my pants fit better and that I'm looking leaner but I still want to get back to 145 not bulk up with muscle! How do I get back to losing weight WHILE getting in more exercise?
Avatar n tn ( I had always been active, and never really had to worry about my weight, but it seems no matter what I do, I can not lose the weight. Shortly after the hyster-I was put on anti-depressants (in order to keep from killing everyone around me LOL)which started out with Paxil -which I complained to the dr about my weight so he changed to Lexapro-gained even more weight-new dr put me on Effexor XR and said it should help with the weight gain. OHHH boy has it ever- but in the opposite direction.
98010 tn?1305903335 It seems like everytime I add exercise to my healthy eating I tend to gain weight instead of lose. After several weeks of trying to be patient and give the exercise program (mostly aerobic walking) a chance, I tend to get frustrated and give up exercising because my goal is to lose weight not gain it. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I not giving exercise enough time to see the benefits? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
