hi, first before you find out how many calories you should be eating a day to lose weight, you must find out how many calories you need to sustain that weight. basically, you need to know your BMR (basal metabolic rate). here's an example and formula of how to find your BMR. ------------- Men: BMR = 66 + (13.7 X wt in kg) + (5 X ht in cm) - (6.8 X age in years) Women: BMR = 655 + (9.6 X wt in kg) + (1.8 X ht in cm) - (4.7 X age in years) Note: 1 inch = 2.54 cm. 1 kilogram = 2.2 lbs.
i was diagnoised 8/14/07 with T=2 because of rapid weight loss was 116 at the time. put on metformin 8/14 weight myself today lost 4 lbs. I don't need to lose weight little scary. i take 500mg 1 per day. would appreciate your thoughts. my gloucose was 120 my a1c was 6.2 random test no fasting at diagnios. excuse miss spelling.
Healthy foods can be unhealthy if eaten in the wrong quantities. Do you know how many calories you eat in a day? I really think you should look into your caloric intake and see where you are. Perhaps you're getting too many calories. Fruit is amazing, but you really shouldn't get more than 3 serves in a day as they tend to have a lot of sugar. If you have a lot of higher fat dairy, that's a lot of calories.
By changing my diet (eliminating wheat, limiting candy and sugar) I was able to lower my weight by 14 lbs -- I can live with 6 extra pound. I recommend visiting a nutritionist -- it helped me significantly -- and exercising. I've just upped my dose to 20 mg and I'm worried -- hard to contol the appetite. I'll have to step up the workouts and the diet control...
small boned frame went from 150 lbs to 190 lbs so fast! My PCP gave me a lecture on my weight gain and ordered TSH and CBC twice. They all came back within normal limits. In addition to the weight gain similar to those posted here, I have been having lower right abdominal pain and pain above my belly button. When the doctor pressed near the belly button, I felt pain there and it radiated to my lower right abdomoen. I had a CT scan which showed normal apendix and gall bladder.
Diet chart is the way to go, what is low carb for you may not be proper for your body to lose weight. Go to a dietician and plan a neat diet chart of 500 cals less than the recommended calories of your age and height, take proteins, minerals, vitamins, high fibre carbohydrate, some fat without cholesterol. + dance which is intense so that you lose atleast 500 cals in 1 to 11/2 hrs. Take care, as with this you will lose weight!
I am overweight by 10 kilos. My BMI was overweight. I am exercising to lose the weight more so than loving it. Even though I must admit, I am starting to have fun with exercise. I does frustrate me at times to the point where I say to myself, "Why?" and I feel like giving up. It is not fair now. I used to be so slim and I don't believe what people say that as you get older you put on weight. You get people of all ages who are all types of body weights.
I had my GTT test this morning... YUCK! I am so pleased with myself that I actually managed to keep the revolting stuff down, I have the worst headache in the world and my mouth feels like I have eaten my weight in jelly beans which actually is quite apt seeing as I look like I have! I am getting really fat now...
(1 kilo = 2.2 pounds. So take your weight in pounds and divide it by 2.2. That is your weight in kilos. Then divide the dose you are taking by your weight in kilos.) Discuss with your doctor if you may raise your ribavirin dose. That is the recommendation I have heard of in cases like yours. Here is a link from the German magazine "Hepatitis & More" for hepatologists. In the middle of the last page is a chart which suggests a new consensus for treatment regime of geno 1.
Jim- Thats kinda the feed back I was looking for and I thank you for it. HGB went from 17.8 to 14.3 so Riba seems to be working. (weight based for me is 800 mg.-I am a runner and therefore pretty thin at 135 lbs) I was not tested for IR but will mention it to my doctor. Unfortunately I am with Kaiser Permanente currently through my work and am seeing a gastro. They are NOT who my choice would be but I have seeked second opinions (out of my own pocket) prior to starting this round of treatment.
He had blurred vision In addition to this the week before his birthday he weighed 64 kilos in weight and only 1 week later weighs 82.4 kilo. He has been placed on no salt diet, and is on fluid intake and output chart. Yesterday he was taken for a kidney biopsy, it took three attempts to get what they wanted and now we await results. Doctors are vague and googling is terrifying? 1. Will it be likely he will never recover from this 2.
Still got Tinnitus from the Antibiotics (the -mycins are Ototoxic) but that will go away. I lost a lot of weight between 25 Dec when symptoms started to mid January. Around mid January I had pain at the back of my heels and my knee pain was worst then. The weight loss was most pronounced on my chest, at my ankles, wrists, above my knee joint (knees looked knobbly) When I phoned the NHS helpline late January/Feb about pins and needles/floaters they told me to go to a Doctor rihgt away.
Late last year stopped indulging in speed/ice, gained heaps of weight - want to lose 15-20 kilos for sure this 2009. I refuse to go through another hot summer here in Melbourne that I'm having right now.
Hi my name is Brooke I've been on Topamax for about 2 weeks now just started the 50 mg and now I've been in the loopy stage and the tired stage as well. Just waiting for the losing weight stage!!! How long did it take to lose at least 10 lbs once you hit 100 mgs? Did it take that first week? I walk a lot so I am hoping it doesn't take that long. I would like to lose a good 50 lbs.
Good Evening Tramadol Warriors, Welcome to the Conversation. When I came to withdraw from Tramadol, it was very hard to find anyone who was sharing that path. The War was fought alone for awhile. But then, others joined me and now we have the continuing Conversation. This is the place to be to get off and stay off Tramadol. Welcome Warriors!
Getting the riba dose right is so so important and with research and in time I think we will move from a weight based riba dose to dosing according to liver panel results. Sorry bout the rave. Just wanted to let you know that bad situations can turn good. Certainly not recommending my regime to anyone but I made a decision at week 8 that I wouldn't die wondering.
) *It is one thing to gain maybe 5 lbs. or to gain weight when pregnant. I have been pregnant before and understand weight gain comes with this. LOL HOWEVER, my concern is mainly the emotional / mental side effects after stopping yasmin, as well as excessive weight gain after stopping. (while not pregnant) Has anyone either Experienced these side effects after stopping yasmin OR known of anyone who has or know anything about these effects.
As you said you aren't experiencing too many side effects - I simply cannot cannot cannot understand why they would advise you to give up at stage 4 cirrhosis (dont worry about the spelling it takes all of us a while to learn that one). 1,000 riba for someone of your weight sounds VERY light to me - I was 5'7 and 120 pounds and the doc gave ME 1,000 (should have been 800 but I asked for the one extra a day to make sure).
I wasn't necessarily gaining much weight, but it was redistributing on my body, to my stomach, and I felt myself getting wider? Am I crazy? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Light emitting diode (LED) is a special diode semi-conductor element that emits light by applying electricity to arouse the movement of electrons in semiconductor material. Compared to lasers, LEDs are light-weight and cost –effective. LEDs can be made to produce multiple wavelengths, and can be arranged in large, flat arrays allowing treatment of a large area [3]. LED-technology developed for NASA (U.S.A.
Sandy Grace is not ready to leave us-she continues to try-we try for her twenty-four hours a day. Is there any over the counter medication that I can give her that will help with her vomiting? We love her so much and she loves us so much-my husband and I feel like we will know when she is ready to go.
Oops- I meant to post that to Silo and Shannon!
I don’t know if my ‘shakes’ are due to Behcet’s disease or to the drugs I take (10 or more daily). Here is some info. about TREMORS: (more info. with SYMPTOMS / CAUSES / DIAGNOSES / TREATMENT etc.) http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=375 We all experience a very fine tremor all the time we are awake as our body goes about its daily functions. This will be the slight tremor you see when you put out your hands for example.
Has anyone gained any weight, yet? I gained 3 lbs and haven't lost them, yet. The od thing is that I lost 3 lbs after the DET/IVF then, I gained them bck. I can't get rid of them. Hmmm? Also, my (pardon TMI) stools have been green-ish! They're either light/drk. Ugh! It could be the pre-natals since I began them the day b4 DET/IVF. Boy, those progesterone booty-shots hurt!
I also posted a link to it in our old thread to make it even easier for everyone else to find. @wishin42...I had something similar happen to me after getting BFN last week. A friend of my husband told us his wife was pregnant. For a few minutes I was really sad, but then I told myself almost the same thing you did...it will happen for me too! Btw: You wouldn't drive me nuts. I taught developmental special ed for 8 years before moving into IT, so it takes a lot to drive me nuts...lol.
catheter was used which put about 18 lbs (approx 9 kilos?) of fluid into my body which gave me the worst post surgical symptome of dyspnea and fatigue until I got the water off of me with diuretics. You may want to clarify this with the Dr. so he can prescribe a diuretic post procedure.Just something that I had to deal with, but once my body expelled the excess fluid, I felt much better and went back to work in 4 days after.
