Avatar m tn You can look this up on the web. I just googled and look at WEBMD. According to that site, if it you take too much long term, it can have affects like, constipation, upset stomach and kidney stones. I don't see anything about taking it for a short term. If you are concerned, make sure you drink plenty of water. WEBMD suggests 2000IU per day for an adult.

Avatar m tn Nothing really new in this little study ,other than the importance for understanding and compassion ,combined with the need for education by the health care community, patients and the public alike about HCV. The stigmatising is still the greatest barrier.. .http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.

Avatar f tn This is a pretty general question so sorry in advance for not being more specific. First of all, most values vary per individual and according to their medical situation & other factors. Second and most important, most lab values vary by lab and quite often by doctor. Lastly, there is Total and Direct bilirubin The reference interval for Total bilirubin on my LabCorp labs indicates a reference interval of (0.0 - 1.
Avatar n tn CDC has no regulatory authority to allow or disallow such information. In the US, health and public health policies are the prerogative of the states. Even "required" disease reporting to CDC -- to compile national statistics on everything from chlamydia to AIDS to meningitis -- is not required at all. CDC requests that states compile their data and report, but they do so on a voluntary basis.
Avatar n tn Most likely it's bipolor 1 there is bipolor 2 or you can be in a mixxed state be very carful with antidepressants if you are in a manic state most of the time AD will just make it worse
Avatar n tn Dr, I’m hoping you can draw from some of your CDC experiences and contacts with those in the public health field to answer this question. Hopefully this is a little deeper than the usual testing question. I had a very low risk and decided to be tested on National Testing Day at eight weeks after my exposure. The tester explained to me that 90 percent of people seroconvert by 3 months and so the test was meaningless.

Avatar m tn Many many people world wide die each day from an AIDS related complex yet they tested negative for HIV and the cause of death gets written off in the medical report as something other than AIDS when in reality it was a form of AIDS which caused the break down in the immunity system. I recommend you read the free book on the Internet entitled: "Full Disclosure the Truth About the AIDS Epidemic" by Gary L. Glum who happens to be the #1 authority on this subject matter.
Avatar f tn You could take a look at dogstogo.com I am interested in wheelie-aids for dogs, after watching a tv program about this, and how such aids transformed quite a few dogs' and their owners' lives (in suitable cases) -when their only option otherwise was euthanasia. They were dogs with a zest for life, and basic good health who had paralysis problems. When I saw those dogs reclaiming their joy and fun.....and watched how they ran around I was impressed.
Avatar f tn As I understand it, 0.9 is the threshold of reference values, 0.1 this is a negative ELISA result for hepatitis C.
Avatar n tn Un necessary net surfing by non medical people for medical information is sometime misunderstood because we are not qualified medical professionals. Believe your wife what she said. If her HIV test is negative, by no means it can be considered at a "precursor" to AIDS, because for progression of HIV into AIDS, one must have HIV virus and its antibodies present in his/her serum.

Avatar f tn this one, the FDA web site, sleepapnea.org, one, WebMD, Mayo, The putanendtosnoring.com and www.snorender are also sites that we really found informative, although they sell snoring aids too. My husband actually has the snorender and it's the only thing we've ever found that actually does help reduce his loud snoring. He sleeps on his back and won't wear a shirt with a tennis ball sewn into the back (yes, I've even tried that).
Avatar f tn Here is a link to a list of reportable diseases. All states have a list and the CDC also had a list. Most diseases that are reportable to the state are also reportable to the CDC. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001929.htm You can see Hep C is only one of the many, many reportable diseases reportable to both the state and the CDC (mandatory reporting).
