My daughter rescued a puppy and we believe it has walking dandruff...Me and my daughter are broken out in an itchy rash...Is there a natural treatment that will get rid of this on us?

Have a vet do a skin scraping of the bald spots to make sure it's not mange. Could just be dry skin from inside air without humidity , could be an allergy to cleaning products or other environmental factors, could also be a parasitic infestation. There is such a thing as "walking dandruff" it walks because it is caused by a large reddish mite. This mite will cause mild itching with a tremendous amount of dry skin.

t seem to have made much of a dent in the dandruff. Like I said, the dandruff is minimal on some days and heavier on other days with seemingly no rhyme or reason. I've tried adding some olive oil to his food, and even rubbing some on him because I read it might help, but really when I massaged some olive oil into his skin it almost seemed to make the dandruff worse. What do you all think? I have read they sell dog balm and dog moisturizers, which I'd never even heard of before.

Quite a few abnormalities going on here. Due to the response of the ivomec I would predict that yes your dog has skin mites. Likely a condition called "walking dandruff" (cheyletiella species is the type of mite). This should respond to ivomec however recurring infections are often due to immune deficiencies in the patient or an autoimmune disorder. Prednisone is a good temporary anti-inflammatory however to use it on a young dog long term is not recommended.

I think there's more going on, too. The sores and scabs can be from flea bites, yeast, or bacterial infections such as Staph. The flaking can be from any of these, but the "Weird Smell" points towards "Mange". Although some Yeast infections have an Odd odor, Mange has such an unusual smell that it's hard to forget. Your dog needs to have a skin scraping done, to determine which of these things to treat.

Ok my question is if it is mite can you take the D E to help our systm inside as well as will it take care of those mites? and if it does can she put some on her cheeks to kill those mites and be done with it? is that recomended? We are thinking about getting some for the detox program.

Dr. said I also have dandruff on my scalp and my face & excemea on face & scalp [ sorry, bad speller] which its not visable to the eye [ didnt know before that was possible]... which all 3 cause extreme itching on my face and scalp.
