Vyvanse withdrawal symptoms

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse withdrawal symptoms

vyvanse

Avatar f tn I should have figured. I have read from several sources that withdrawal symptoms from Vyvanse can include extreme fatigue. I'm praying this is temporary and his body needs to re-adjust to life w/o Vyvanse but if I had to guess - it doesn't seem to me that he can function well enough while not on it. This is all so very frustrating and disheartening.
Avatar f tn If anyone can help with ideas to ease the withdrawal symptoms, I would really appreciate it- vitamins, supplements, anything. His Dr. has not been very much help, he just told him he shouldn't have quit cold turkey. He keeps saying the symptoms will ease as the drug leaves his system but every day he gets more frustrated and discouraged that he's still having withdrawal. I HATE this drug, I cannot believe that it is being prescribed to children. Awful!!!!
1549092 tn?1297046311 Your symptoms sound more like a withdrawal type of symptom, then a normal reaction to vyvance. This is a pretty good site for information for adults on meds. I think you will find the information useful as it compares Vyvanse vs Adderall XR. Do make sure you also click on their ADHD link at the top of the page once you have finished reading. Avatar f tn 1. Should I expect to experience any slight withdrawal symptoms from the lowering back to 40mg of Vyvanse? 2. Does anyone know what I should expect by going to this 50/50 mis of l-amp and d-amp? Thanks!
Avatar m tn My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.
Avatar f tn I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal?
10866337 tn?1413402181 t be cut or crushed) . This eases my withdrawal symptoms and (I think) tricks my body into being happy with a lower dose. I used this technique to withdraw successfully (and realitivly painlessl) from four years of Percocet and Vicodin.
Avatar m tn I have been on suboxones for about 6 months now before that many years on and off of opiates. I was taking 2 (8mgs) pills a day but I have cut down to a 1/4 of 1 pill in the morning and then another 1/4 in the late afternoon. I've been able to cut down without any major withdrawal symptoms. I want to be completely free of these nasty little pills but I'm so SO scared of the withdrawals that are to come. Can you please help me with some suggestions on what I can do to get through this.
Avatar m tn To make a long story short. I haven't taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest. Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
Avatar f tn im 16 years old and for about a half a year I've been having numbness through out my body It kind of feels like the feeling you get when you get up to fast and you feel like your going to faint , but for me I can be standing up and it happens at any moment. When I first noticed this my whole body was numb and my fingers will be moving the same way a magician moves his fingers but I would be doing it on my leg or my arm.
Avatar f tn I have a history of pain killer abuse, but have been off of them since January of this year (2013). At that time I was visiting a psychiatrist for the pain med abuse and he put me on Vyvanse for ADHD. I may have mild ADHD, but it is manageable and I really don't need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me.
Avatar f tn I am bipolar, and I have taken Klonopin (clonozopam) for years...current dosage is 5mg per day as needed. Sometimes I have needed it for several days in a row, and then not for 3 or 4 days, sometimes longer. As I have aged, my bipolar has become unmanageble just by the Klonopin and lowering my stress. Last June I had a breakdown and I was out of state a a physician I went to put me on seroquel, lexapro, and vyvanse....along with my klonopin.
Avatar f tn I've been on and off tramadol since I injured my knee in late April. At first I took it every day for 5 weeks. Then I stopped with no problems. There were times after when I would take one and then go weeks without it and never had any trouble. I take one 300mg tablet at night before bed and it last 24 hours. 3 weeks ago my doctor but me on 50mg Vyvanse for ADD which didn't work causing withdrawal so he switched me to 20mg Adderall which also didn't work so he stopped me cold turkey.
Avatar m tn For example, a random sample of long-term benzodiazepine users typically finds around 50% experience few or no withdrawal symptoms, with the other 50% experiencing notable withdrawal symptoms. Certain select patient groups show a higher rate of notable withdrawal symptoms, up to 100%.[59] Rebound anxiety, more severe than baseline anxiety, is also a common withdrawal symptom when discontinuing diazepam or other benzodiazepines.
Avatar m tn I take 1.5 mg Klonopin + 50 mgs of Vyvanse. I have ADD but the Vyvanse is also prescribed for depression as I cannot take absolutely any antidepressant without incredible agitation. That started several years ago. Here's the problem at hand, as it starts: Every time I sleep, whether day (as in nap, a rare occasion) or night, I have disturbing dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation.
Avatar f tn My son has been on vyvanse for 4 months now, he is having horrible side effects, to the point where you can't reason with him. We need to get him off this terrible drug before it kills him. You can't just stop taking it because, so how do we get him off this drug?
Avatar f tn He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I found that I need less caffeine than before I started taking Vyvanse. Vyvanse does a much better job than caffeine, so I drink less coffee, espresso, etc and rely on the medication. I feel better, too. I don't suggest dropping caffeine all at once...the withdrawal is a drag.
Avatar m tn They slow down the excretion of Vyvanse considerably and you are left with an undesired and non-therapeutic build up of Vyvanse. The symptoms you are having correlate with this. It may not be found in the literature but if you look up Dr. Charles Parker on YouTube, he explains this in detail in one of his 37 videos. He works closely with Dr.Amen and he was seeing a pattern with people on those two drugs and Vyvanse.
Avatar m tn I seemed to have depression with some mixed features or rapid cycling, but neither the depressive nor the manic symptoms met all of the DSM criteria. For example, I would have really low energy and couldn't get out of bed, but at the same time I would have a crazy sex drive. I would be irritable but I could only think about how much I hate myself. I had no motivation for anything ever.
Avatar f tn I then was put back on the Prozac and my doctor added Vyvanse for the binge eating disorder. The BED was cured but my OCD symptoms and anxiety have gotten MUCH worse. I am unsure if my BED will come back if I go off of the Vyvanse. I am wondering if the BED was cured partly from the Vyvanse, and partly from going back on the Prozac, which may have helped me to stop obsessing about dieting.
Avatar n tn Why are you taking 3 Vyvanse pills of 70mg = 210mg?? Stop taking that much. I have been on Vyvanse for a legit condition for 7 years and have only recently had to have a small mg tablet add-on of adderall XR to take at the end of the day if my Vyvanse feels like its wearing off. You are asking for serious health problems if you continue taking that medicine irresponsibly. Not to be mean, but given the shear seriousness of your post, where is your common sense??
Avatar f tn When discontinuing treatment, or decreasing dosage, patients should work with a doctor to gradually taper the level of medication by no more than 1mg every 3 to 7 days. Stopping guanfacine suddenly can create withdrawal symptoms including increased heart rate and high blood pressure, sometimes accompanied by headaches, confusion, agitation, or tremors." This and the other quote is from.... https://www.additudemag.com/medication/guanfacine/ I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn It is definitly a side effect of taking this medication. I stop taking it and the symptoms also stop within a few days, the symptoms begin again within two or three days when i start taking the medication again regularly.
