I have a friend who's son (no, really) was taking Vyvanse. He experienced severe dry mouth, hand-wringing, decrease affect, and a very short fuse. Hope you get this resolved; I'm sure you feel miserable. I believe that my friend's son began taking Metadate with more success. Still not sure of any contraindications with Xanax, though.
My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs. I'm in an industry that I must utilize critical problem solving skills, think extremely creative and relay high end technical knowledge to CIO's and executives on a daily basis.
i used to be on prozac 60mg (up to 100mg) for about 8-10 years and switched to cymbalta which helps with depression, anxiety, and pain. you may try that. don't over take your xanax because you're right, it is addictive. don't take anymore than you're prescribed before talking to your psychiatrist, which i suggest you call today or tomorrow to make an appointment.
And be on Ambian and restoril and Xanax??????? How unethical is that? I went with him to his shrinks office and she took him off the ambian and "dosed" him down on vyvanse...this was last June 2011. He was unwilling to end it entirely by late Nov. I ended it.
These shrinks should have their licenses yanked! I was put thru hell for 3 yrs. not knowing about the vyvanse. He is a cocaine abuser which was hidden from me. and substituted the cocaine addiction for Vyvanse addiction.

This won't seem to answer your question right away, but bear with me:
I'm 31, was diagnosed with ADD when I was 16, also diagnosed with OCD when I was 29 (although it is pretty mild- mostly anxiety triggered by various things such as my children getting sick or something, but I do not really have compulsive activity). I also tend to get onsets of depression (again, not severe).
If you are suffering from anxiety and need to control it with Xanax, you certainly do not want to use any form of speed, which is what most ADD medications are. You would wind up in a straitjacket.
You are very wise to use Xanax only on an as-needed basis. It is extremely addicting. And here is something you might try. When I was suffering the effects of adrenal fatigue, I was told to use Xanax on an as-needed basis, which I did, and it helped enormously. I was given .

The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
ve been able to cut my Xanax dose down to 4 mg a day from 8 with no increase in anxiety or any withdrawal symptoms that are
noticeable. The goal is to wean off of the benzodiazepine completely or to keep it between one and 2 mg a day. And yes you are right I was taking 8 mg a day that's for the 2 mg bars as recent as this December.
My concern is that I am simply replacing the useless Xanax with an amphetamine. Yes for the first time in my life I feel calm in my head.
Does anyone here any experience with taking Vyvanse for AD(H)D and Xanax for anxiety?
I experience anxiety pretty much daily and my psych doc seems to think it's because the symptoms of my ADHD make me feel anxious and depressed.
I am wondering if this is true or common for someone with adult ADHD, or is it just a symptom of the current stress in my life?

My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?

My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
