And Topamax is prescribed for antipsychotic-induced weight gain.

So.. I cycle between 2 to 3 days use/abuse of Vyvanse, trash those pills. Then a week or so later I get some phentermine diet pills and do the same, use/abuse a few days then trash. This has been going on since late January. Before that I battled with pain med abuse for well over a year. I've not had pain meds since Jan of this year. I like the speedy feeling of the vyvanse and phentermine, but not the lack of sleep, dry mouth and other side effects. I want to get out of this cycle!

so whats the deal with this drug? all the side affects listed are the same as with phentermine, is it a speed or like a wellbutrin? have you ever taken it?

You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine. Its bad enough that you run the risk of heart problems with Phentermine but adding energy drinks to that just adds to the risk. I took Phentermine for a while. I never drank energy drinks because I cant stand them but I now have heart problems because of the Phentermine.

I agree with Ben, I never myself had a hard time getting off speed( adderal, by vyvanse, or meth) but being on any of them after a few days really puts you in a bad place, stimulation overload, although I'm a bad abuser, just be careful and good luck

Does anyone here have experience with Phentermine? My doctor let me talk him into it for weight loss last June. It's supposed to be only taken for 8-12 weeks, but since I've kept losing weight and my blood pressure stays low, he's kept refilling my prescription. I take 37.5 mg once a day. I know this drug is a stimulant, etc. and it can become addictive. Every once in a while-- like today-- I don't take it, just to see if *not* taking it bugs me.

Usually low, key, happy person. Was diagnosed with Hypothyrodism 2 1/2 yrs ago. In August 2010, finally got my levels to be within normal limits. Was starting to feel better, but Dr. gave me generic Wellbutrin (125) because i couldn't stop crying. Felt like I was starting to go crazy. Went back in Dec 2010 and labs showed that my thyroid levels were completely out of whack. Dr. increased my levoxyl to 125 and generic Wellbutin to 300.

m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????

Then in 2007 I became pregnant and regained all of my weight back during my pregnancy. After having my son I was diagnosed with pcos. Since having my son I have lost a total of 70 lbs and now can not lose anymore weight no matter how little I eat. I feel like I absolutely do not need another adjustment. I have been at this stand still for 6 months now. I am wondering can my pcos have anything to do with my weight loss difficulties.

Hello, Phentermine can alter your blood sugar levels, if you are going to try using it please use it with caution and monitor your blood sugar levels more frequently... if you notice changes and if your blood sugars are becoming too low then stop taking phentermine, and seek further advice about what you could use instead of phentermine. t have much results with phentermine but I can say that it distracts my brain into not thinking about food. I just stay busy the best I can and try not to be around food. The downside of Phentermine for me was: I usually don't feel it working, Caffeine will counter act mine as well as stress and anything else negative in my life. I also started to take 2 pills then backed off cause it keeps me wired at night.

Also, the euphoria associated with a first time vyvanse high will make you feel great.

I suggest you be very careful with phentermine, it is very similar to the chemical makeup of methamphetamine. The side effects of high dose or extended use are similar to amphetamine. This drug can blow out your adrenal glands, make you grind teeth until they rot, cause nervous ticks. When amphetamines were more regulated to sell as diet aids, phentermine started to be the main drug sold for hunger suppression. Be careful, people do get strung out on that drug.

I am on Phentermine a diet pill, I have been taking it for 4 months. I have Anxiety and I am also Bipolar which I haven't had any Anxiety for over a year now. For about a month now I have been having Anxiety attacks and Depression really bad. I fought out I shouldn't take Phentermine if I have Anxiety or Depression. The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.

I had no problems with the phentermine at all. BUT, for the last few months I have been experiencing alot of lower left side pain. In July I only spotted for 3-4 days and haven't had my period since. I went for an MRI and the Dr. said they THINK it's Adenomyosis or something of that sort. I think he's full of bologna cause I looked up the syptoms and I have never had a bad period or pain like I'm having now. I honestly think the phentermine is a coincindence and not causing it.

Some time later I began losing weight, seemingly without cause, and am now at 240. I have adhd and I have always had trouble with substance abuse, which began around age 14 when I was introduce to inhalant abuse by a friend. I continued abusing inhalants daily for a while before I was caught, and sent to a group home. I have since stopped "huffing" but I regularly smoke marijuana, and I do not plan to stop, so please, no comments on that.
