My doc prescribed me 70mg Vyvanse, to compare with my Adderall dose previously prescribed. When feeling the effects of Vyvanse it is truly a saving grace and I really feel "limitless". I think clear, I don't feel over stimulated or the out of body experience like other ADHD drugs. I'm in an industry that I must utilize critical problem solving skills, think extremely creative and relay high end technical knowledge to CIO's and executives on a daily basis.
Vyvanse 50mg, dextroamphetamine 10mg (as needed), propranolol (20 but I tapered it into 10), wellbutrin (100 SR twice a day)
(I never took more than the recommended dosage, but a lot of the time, I change the dosage thought the month depending on the day by loweing it. For example; sometimes I take 50mg vyvanse the day after its 35, then 40, then 50 and so on. Sometimes I take dextroamph without vyvanse, sometimes I take one dex with vyvanse.
Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems."

I am a 12yr old female. It's the middle of the night and I am not telling my parents because I know they will say it's nothing to worry about. So I woke up around 3:00 am to wierd feeling in my chest as if I couldn't breathe, I could breathe completely fine though but it felt uncomfortable. It was in the middle of my "lower" chest. Hard to describe exactly where.
your son has apparently experienced positive results with Concerta which is a form of methylphenidate, while Adderall is a form of dextroamphetamine (Ritalin and Dexedrine). Frequently the forms of methylphenidate work better for ADHD Hyperactive while the dextroamphetamines work better for the Inattentive.
Which is your son? To compound matters further if he is an "active" young man, is his activity "motor" or "distractablitIy" driven?
She is really pushing Vyvanse even though I told her I am an addict and one of my drugs of choice was Adderal which the Rehab says is actually "speed". Isn't Vyvance a type of "speed" also. I desperately want help but not enough to risk getting back into abusing yet another substance and give up my sobriety date. She says she will only give me 7 at a time which will keep me from getting addicted but I can still abuse. I need advise. This scares me.

Vyvanse is metabolized differently, so could last longer in your system. It was done so you could not snort it like you can with Adderall. Adderall gives a stronger first "hit". V is smoother and takes longer to take effect so may not be as noticeable. Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
I know what you mean when you refer to Adderall as "that nasty, gross stimulant." I have been taking a total of 30 mg Adderall for about 6 mths now. It works great during the day, and has changed my life tremendously. I am able to complete the 200 projects that I start on everyday. But insomnia has made me it's ***** at night! If I could guess what a crack head feels like when coming down, the Adderall "comedown" would compare to it.
Now she is taking 40mg of Vyvanse. It seems to work as well as Adderall and has no GI side effects however, she now does this hand movement thing....its not a tick, and seems to be both voluntary and involuntary. Like sometimes she is aware of it but is drivin to do it subconsiously. She places her hands(both of them), palm facing outwards, to her mouth and wiggles all ten of her fingers rapidly into the air.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, not sure why he has chosen the "booster" vs a larger vyvanse dose. I guess I should ask him at the next appt.
My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
Certain drugs could be responsible like metoclopramide, prednisone, effexor, an antidepressant, paxil, an SSRI, wellbutrin, an antidepressant, Zoloft an SSRI and dextroamphetamine, a CNS stimulant. Consult a neurologist soon who will evaluate you for these symptoms and investigate these appropriately.
