Ie no anxiety ect, but that doesnt last, vyvanse is not used for controlling anxiety and often exacerbates it instead in some people

In September of last year I was admitted for my depression, I was diagnosed with major depression disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and ADD, I was put on Vyvanse 30 mg, Zoloft 50mg later upped to 100, Abilify 5mg, I was doing good when I got out, vyvanse has helped my concentration steady, I stopped Zoloft and Abilify months ago because they were no help but my vyvanse has been causing troubles, I feel more depressed, and depression runs on both sides of the family, I rarely sleep, I sometimes g

t do a thing for them. If Vyvanse does nothing for you, except make you depressed, then perhaps another medication may be worth a try. If it does help you, maybe there is a similar alternative you can try. My first medication was Vyvanse and it happens to work well for me. I already take an antidepressant, so if it does make me depressed I'm already covered...lol. And the bad mood thing...

Am I the only one who experiences this? Is Vyvanse for just focusing or can it be used for depression? I want to hear some input about Vyvanse and its effects. I'm on it now and if I wasn't, I know I wouldn't be typing this. Thanks to whoever reads or comments about my question!

Yes since anxiety and depression go hand in hand feeding off each other in a vicious circle so you can get so agitated that you cant tell if you are more anxious or more depressed or which is the root cause.

I do have anxiety and depression due to my current life situation but I have never taken anything for it and it is not debilitating (the anxiety can get it the way a bit b/c i feel like i am dying or something)

There are no experts here, but here's my two cents worth. ADHD is one of the most over-diagnosed disorders out there. So are mood disorders such as bipolar 2 that are really just the way a particular person manifests depression. So I would make sure your psychiatrist or neurologist is a really good one and not just a general doc who doesn't specialize in either these conditions or in these meds. The second thing I notice is everything you've been put on is extremely stimulating.

Has anyone tried the drug vyvance for CFS...it is typically used for ADD. My lyme disease doctor suggested it and says those with lyme disease who suffer with fatigue has benefitted from it. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it.

he refered me to a psych. my psych told me that vyvanse would help my add and my depression. he started me on 30mg and had to move me up to 50mg after 2 weeks because it was wearing off half way through the day and i would get extremely tired. when i first started taking the drug i noticed that i was more clear headed and driven through the day. at the same time i noticed that my appetite had decressed,my throat stayed dry and i was having trouble falling asleep.

My doctor told me I could play around with the doses and see what works for me, since he would be seeing me in two weeks. I started to try different doses of Vyvanse and Adderall, starting at 10mg Vyvanse and going up to 50mg, and starting at 5mg Adderall (IR) and increasing to 10, at most, 4x a day.

I see your on Vyvanse 60mg x2 daily??? That's a lot. One idea to talk to your psych or doc about is to lower your dose of Vyvanse and up your Wellbutrin to 350mg. This might help since Wellbutrin targets dopamine receptors instead of seratonin like other ssri. This might help to give you the pleasurable pep you need to get out of the "lifeless void" as I call it and ease up on the dextroamphetamine (speed) that's doing a number on your mental state and your cns state.

my 11 year old son is coming off of Vyvanse. He has been off for a month and he told me he was going to commit suicide becasue of is grades at school. I know this is not normal, but is tis one fo the side effects when coming off the drug?

How much more are you taking than the prescribed amount. Many people have been addcited to this drug because if you double or triple the amount you get like a ectasty feeling.

I disagree with the analysis above regarding Vyvanse withdrawal. My neuro-psychiatrist indicated that, unlike other ADD medications, my missing 1 day was the cause of Extreme fatigue, depression, irritability along with ADD symptoms. NOT INCLUSIVE EXPLANATION: Vyvanse uses adrenaline/cortisol (fight-flight hormones), stopping is similar to exhaustion following an intense situation and recovery time correlates to how long you've been taking it.

I have always suffered from major depression and a mood disorder even though they don't come out and say it's bipolar, they treat is as such and it's helped. I've been on Abilify for a year now and I was doing so well but now I'm tired all the time, have no motivation, and feel overall blah! I see my pdoc next week and I wonder if I need a new mood stabelizer or a higher dose of Abilify.

How would a stimulant work in conjunction with a partial dopamine agonist like Rexulti? I am prescribe the Rexulti for depression/anxiety in conjunction with Prozac and Cymbalta. The Vyvanse is being added to treat my severe ADHD, I am the mostly inattentive type. I just want to be able to think and focus clearly. i used to be on prozac 60mg (up to 100mg) for about 8-10 years and switched to cymbalta which helps with depression, anxiety, and pain. you may try that. don't over take your xanax because you're right, it is addictive. don't take anymore than you're prescribed before talking to your psychiatrist, which i suggest you call today or tomorrow to make an appointment.

It made me alert and focused, but most of all, it worked way better than Lexapro or Xanax ever did for depression. The Lexapro/Vyvanse combo put me in an extremely happy, positive mood, to the point where I would occasionally find myself being a chatterbox when talking to people. However, I wasn't "amped up" or jittery. I actually found it very easy to just sit at my desk and work all day.

Hey Linz, my psych had switched me to Vyvanse when it first came out, and at my next appointment I asked to be switched back to Adderral XR. The vyvanse did not work much at all for me, if anything it made me worse. So now I'm back on Adderral, and doing alright, or as alright as I can be doing (unfortunately meds don't make everything ok).

He prescribed me Lexapro, then in January put me on Vyvanse ( a stimulant used to treat ADD) in addtion to the Lexapro. I began to feel GREAT mentally. I was much happier.. eventhough my husband and I still had some MAJOR finacial problems, our relationship got much better. Work also was better, as I was much more productive thanks to the Vyvanse.

I'm taking Vyvanse and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I just want to sleep all day and never feel the effects of increased focus, motivation, interest, and energy. I'm on a low dose of 30 mg, but because I do feel the effects sometimes I'm wondering if it's a problem with my digestion at times and some inability to metabolize the vyvanse for it to work properly.

It may be habit-forming if used for a long period of time. Use Vyvanse only as prescribed. Do not share it with others. Abuse of Vyvanse may cause serious heart problems, blood vessel problems, or sudden death.
