Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse prescribing information

vyvanse

Avatar n tn I'm taking Vyvanse and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Sometimes I just want to sleep all day and never feel the effects of increased focus, motivation, interest, and energy. I'm on a low dose of 30 mg, but because I do feel the effects sometimes I'm wondering if it's a problem with my digestion at times and some inability to metabolize the vyvanse for it to work properly.
Avatar f tn I also read where doctors are prescribing up to 210mg of Vyvanse. The most common high dose is 140mg. This is called Off Label Prescribing. Does anyone here take over 70mg of Vyvanse? If so, how long does it last? I actually called Shire this past weekend and made a product complaint. I told the rep that my meds were wearing off after 4-5 hours & asked if it was possible to get my doctor to write for more than 70mg.
Avatar m tn Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD. I do agree with Yvette BG's other comments, above.
Avatar f tn I recently had to switch my add meds from adderall xr to vyvanse and I am on day 2 and I feel like I havnt taken anything. I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I get good results with Vyvanse. See if you can try some of that. Read about it online. If you get an Rx, print a coupon before you go to the pharmacy. It will save you BIG.
Avatar f tn My 17 year old takes Vyvanse for ADHD and help with anger , he takes that in the morning then at night Clonidine. At night I accidentally gave him Vyvanse and his clonidine because I thought I didn’t give him his meds ( clonidine) but later I checked the morning meds and there was one missing which means I gave him both! Me n him were confused and didn’t realize until the end. Will this hurt him ? Should I be concerned.
Avatar f tn He has complained of a real bad headache on top of his head since the first attack, 5 wks ago. He was taking Vyvanse for 1 yr prior to this so, the original diagnosis was acute adverse reaction to it but after the second attack they decided it wasnt that. Tested positive for strep after 2 wks, then mono the next wk, then developed pneumonia the next wk. They have done CTs, MRIs, EEGs, blood work, heavy metal tests, ultrasounds and others I can't even remember.

Avatar f tn I have a history of pain killer abuse, but have been off of them since January of this year (2013). At that time I was visiting a psychiatrist for the pain med abuse and he put me on Vyvanse for ADHD. I may have mild ADHD, but it is manageable and I really don't need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me.
Avatar n tn I AM REALLY AFRAID TO TRY PROZAC 20 MG ALONG WITH VYVANSE 20 BECAUSE OF SERATONIN SYNDROME. PLEASE HELP. I AM 42 DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD .
Avatar n tn My nephew has ADHD and his doctor has prescribed him, 100 mg Vyvanse, an amphetamine and .1 mg Clonidine in the morning, .1 mg Clonidine at noon and 15 mg Mirtazapine at bedtime. He's been on these meds for at least the last 4 months that I know of. He's always done decent in school, but has a continuing problem with "meltdowns". These meds don't seem to be working on the rage issue. My mother, his guardian, kinda just blows it off and says he'll be fine.
Avatar f tn you need to discuss this with your parents and the doctor who is prescribing the Vyvanse for you. The doc will probably want you to have an EKG (a very simple test) to make sure your heart is ok. You might also do well on an ADD med that's not a stimulant - talk to your doctor about it. It's great that you've had success with the medication, but some ADD meds can cause heart issues and you can't ignore the symptoms you're having.
Avatar n tn You must consult her prescribing doctor regarding Adderall and determine the benefits and risks of using this drug and the development/.exaggeration of acne or other dermatological disorders (since peeling of skin is known to occur.) Hope this helped.

Do make sure you also click on their ADHD link at the top of the page once you have finished reading. The site is - http://healthlifeandstuff.com/2009/07/vyvanse-vs-adderall-simple-vs-complex. Avatar m tn Hi! So I just had to come to google to see why my Vyvanse wasn't working for me anymore, and I saw your comment.. I have been on Vyvanse for maybe a year now and have found that my 70 mg dosage just isn't kicking in or working as well as it used to for me anymore?? So is this happening with you as well? Like it's still really hard for me to focus, and I really don't feel the effect of the medicine at all anymore. I wonder whats happening?

Avatar f tn My son was just recently diagnosed with ADHD and started on Vyvanse. Sometimes he swallows the pills and sometimes he waste them. So I have tried to mixed them with water and it doesn't seem effective. Is there a magic formula. so much med and so much water? Please help me am I missing something?
Avatar m tn I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
Avatar f tn My 10 year old son, who is ADHD, was taking 30 mg of Vyvanse and it worked fine for like a month and half. The doctor increased his dosage to 40 mg and it was working great, but again the effects seemed to have diminished in two months. The doctor recommended to keep him in the 40 mg of Vyvanse, which he takes in the morning, and in the evening give him 1 mg of Intuniv. Do you know if that will help with his concentration at school?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Vyvanse for ADD for a few months. Since taking it I have developed pain associated with bowel movements; hemmorrhoids, pain post bm, blood etc. I checked for side effects for Vyvanse but aside from stomach pain, and diarrhea no other relatable side effects were shown. I was curious if anyone taking this medication or similar type of medication has experience this or been able to manage this issue.
