Vyvanse liver damage

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse liver damage

vyvanse

Avatar n tn Can Vyvanse permanently damage the brain? I'm 19 and have been taking it for the past four months, even though I don't have ADHD. On average I would take one 50 mg pill 4-5 times a week, but on occassion I would take two in one day (pretty rare). Every couple of weeks, I would take a week or two off from taking them. Recently I've quit, but I'm worried I may have caused some long lasting damage to my brain. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Vyvanse maintains a long, steady, consistent blood level all day — advantages over Adderal. But Vyvanse takes three hours to kick in, while it is metabolized in the liver so it has that nice long steady life. On the other hand, Adderol kicks in immediately, and has a short effective life. Perfect fit. Adderol is like Special Forces who goes in to accomplish a specialized mission, and then leaves.. On the other hand, Vyvanse is the army, does all the heavy lifting and 95% of everything else.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 18 years of age, she was prescribed 20 mg of Vyvanse, the first drug she has ever taken in her life besides an antibiotic. She woke up and took the 20 mg dose of the drug that morning as usual, and this was exactly two months to the day that she had been on it. She told the lady she worked with that she could not seem to concentrate, and felt confused. This was a Friday afternoon, and she was confused, complaining her thoughts were racing.

Avatar m tn The recommended dose of paracetamol for a single adult is two standard 500 mg tablets. Researches have reported that the threshold for liver damage to start from a single paracetamol overdose is 15 gms (30 tablets). However liver damage could start to occur at a single overdose of 24 standard tablets or 150 mg/kg body weight, (whichever is the smaller).

Avatar n tn Is it possible to cause liver damage from a few years of pain med abuse? Damage severe enough to cause stomach pains?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Darvocet for about two years now. I began just taking one a week at night after a bad day and it has progressed to 1-3 daily for about 6 months now. I went to the Dr. for a checkup yesterday and the ALT liver function test was high. The other liver tests were normal just that one was high. The Dr. thinks it is from my acid reflux medication and is changing that but I rarely take it. Could it be the Darvocet?

Avatar f tn Can anyone tell me what it's called when you have liver damage from medications
Avatar f tn The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..
Avatar n tn I have never been to hospital, I dont appear to have yellowing of the skin or eyes. What is the likly hood of damage to my liver, and if stoped now could my liver possibly recover from and damege.
Avatar f tn Hard to say but if he stops attacking the liver with alcohol, no further damage should be done and some of those numbers should go down at least a little.
1012981 tn?1322603293 My brother has been in the hospital for 12 days for liver damage. His skin and eyes are yellow, abdomen pain and swelling of the stomach. They drained off 12 liters of fluid from stomach area. He's has dementia, no communicating with him that makes any sense. In this situation what is his chance to make it through this? The doctors and nurses are not saying much, but wait and see.

Avatar f tn Should I be worried that I have liver damage that is just not showing up? I have changed my diet significantly ( no dairy or gluten) but I am still very bloated. I am sick with worry that I have caused permanent damage. I am still very young, 28. What are ur thoughts?
Avatar f tn I have a history of pain killer abuse, but have been off of them since January of this year (2013). At that time I was visiting a psychiatrist for the pain med abuse and he put me on Vyvanse for ADHD. I may have mild ADHD, but it is manageable and I really don't need meds for it, but thought it would help with the pain med abuse and just listened to the doc. Since starting the Vyvanse I now realize that it is just as addictive and habit forming as the pain meds for me.
Avatar m tn Just thinking,,,if a person is a stage 2 with moderate damage and does one full treatment and relapses, would the liver have reversed back to at least a stage 1?...also with this liver improvement, wouldnt the next round of treatment make it more sucessful...starting as a stage one now as appossed to stage two at the orginal start? i know there are chances of viral mutations and all that ,but all these things aside...i think this is positive news to the re-treater....ANY THOUGHTS?
Avatar f tn Any guesses on how much cummulative damage is being done to a liver with ALTs in the 22-69 range over 10 years (average about 41)? Very low viral load. E-negative. E-antibody +.
Avatar f tn My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
Avatar f tn im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
