I was found to have high blood pressure about 6 months ago; Atenenol was prescribed and works fine. I already take
300mg Wellbutrin and 10mg Valium.
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
If the high blood pressure just started, it could be a side effect of the Vyvanse. Even if you had high blood pressure before starting on the Vyvanse, the Vyvanse can make it worse. Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD.
Hi. Your current medications would not be causing your high BP. It may be that these medications are not the right ones for you. Are you tracking your BP on a home meter? If so then you need to make sure it's working correctly. If it is then insist that your GP see you for a thorough check-up and go from there. Take care...
Anxiety can cause increased heart rate and thus I would assume high blood pressure. Heck just getting your blood pressure taken, if you are worried about it will cause a higher blood pressure.
Was your blood pressure monitored before you started the Duloxetine? And what is weird to me is that if the V was causing the high blood pressure - you think it would have been high the whole time you were on Vyvannse.
I will say my blood pressure was very high in the office. I had forgotten my sheet (after a hectic morning) that gave bp readings for the last month. My pb had been good when taken at home which I shared. I also share that I take Vyvanse prescribed by my family dr. Well, the cardiologist actually exhibited anger towards me. My pb spikes in a doctor's office. He angrily snapped at me and said will check with my family dr about the Vyvanse - insinuating it was prescribed maybe?
So, since May I have been prescribed amphetamines for adult ADHD. Prior to usage I had a full cardiac workup by a cardiologist and given a clean bill of health. I was on Adderall for awhile than switched to Dexedrine than finally Vyvanse. While on Vyvanse my pulse rate started reaching near 120 and my psych doc became concerned and decided to stop the amphetamines. I have been off the amphetamines for 4 days as of today.
t taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest.
Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
Why are you taking 3 Vyvanse pills of 70mg = 210mg?? Stop taking that much. I have been on Vyvanse for a legit condition for 7 years and have only recently had to have a small mg tablet add-on of adderall XR to take at the end of the day if my Vyvanse feels like its wearing off. You are asking for serious health problems if you continue taking that medicine irresponsibly. Not to be mean, but given the shear seriousness of your post, where is your common sense??
My 13 year old son's blood pressure has always been low for him at 90/60 and pulse of 70. He was always in great shape playing soccer and golf. He recently stopped playing soccer this past jan. He has been on Vyvanse for 4 yrs now for his ADHD. He is going through a growth spurt., eating more, sleeping more and he grew 1 3/4 inch in the past month. At his last exam, the doc said his bp was 110/85 and pulse was 115.
According to the info on vyvanse, unlike other meds, you cannot snort the chemicals and get high. It must be ingested. Of course, this begs the question of where she learned to break open the capsules and snort and why. Furtheremore, if she has ADHD, the medication should not affect her the way it would someone without ADHD. So there is something weird going on here.
Agree... there are quite a few different medications that can make it difficult to lose weight. Some are notorious for causing weight gain, as well.
I have had high blood pressure through out most of my pregnancy i am now 35wks. I started swelling really bad last week and at my apt yesterday my blood pressure had jumped even higher to 156/90. My mid wife didn't seem concerned at all she just re took it and made my appointments weekly now. I can't seem to get rid of a head ache ive had for a couple days. Should i be worried???
Your bottom number is a little high but not horrible! I am 35w3d and I have had constant high blood pressure since 26 weeks. Its always around 165/94. Since its been constantly high, I see my doctor every thursday for an ultrasound to check the babies heartbeat and fluid, a non-stress test, and a chat with my doctor! I also go in every wednesday to do blood work to check for preeclampsia. This week will be my 4th time doing it.
