5757880 tn?1395578022 Generic companies have to make a product that fits into a specific area of the brand name medication. Normally, the difference between generic and brand name and generic compared to another generic is nominal and goes completely unnoticed. Someone super sensitive may feel a different though. My son is now on medication for depression (been such a difficult year that I'd love to chat with you about) and I had this concern.
Avatar f tn You can go to the FDA site and e-mail or telephone for the physician who is responsible for the drug. Use the generic name. At the FDA every drug is assigned to a physician investigator. Once you get his name e-mail him. If you don't waste their time they are quite helpful. If you feel this side effect has happened, you need to report it as a "possible adverse effect". Then ask him/her if there have been any other reports. Another database to search is Pubmed.
Avatar m tn adderall-vyvanse-dextroamphetamine.amphetamine mixed salts these are all basically used for adhd. Yea basically like speed its a control 2 medication which means it can be highly addictive.
Avatar f tn After a lot of research and thought, I went back to the Doctor and discussed switching to the Brand Name Adderall - thinking that perhaps the generic was just not as effective for me anymore. After going about my normal routine of 15mg x3 to no avail, I stopped splitting them in half, and instead would take at the full, normal dose - 30mg, 3 times a day. But there's still been no change, and these last 3 months have been pretty horrible.
Avatar n tn Hi My daughter abused Adderall for months, then I tried it and started abusing it ... Its a picker upper. It helps you to motivate and do more then you normally would do. I don't know what Vyvanse is or what the generic for it is. I'll have to look it up.
1134609 tn?1269272200 ----I stabilized completely last summer and I was on the brand name version of the medication. When I switched over to the generic, I started having problems and had to increased the dose from 900mgs to 1600mgs over the space of a few months. Any changes in the dosages over this time dropped me into a deep depression and I HAD to drop the dosage many times because it was agitating me. I just assumed it was because I was adjusting to the medication.
Avatar f tn I also have adult ADHD (I was diagnosed with it at 21, and have been on Vyvanse for about 3 years now). I have issues with staying asleep, which I attribute to the pain flare-ups from TMJ and which my doctor says is aggravated by the ADHD meds.
990354 tn?1307132886 I started out on Vyvanse, then due to insurance went to generic Adderall. I found Vyvanse to work much better, so I think I solved the insurance problem and I'm going to go back on Vyvance soon after I finish my Adderall generic. I found no transition problem between the two medicines. All these meds are really the same sort of thing. But it isn't wise to mix medicines. I know doctors would not like this.
Avatar f tn My last visit the cardiologist actually has my wondering if I need to switch. I had been taking for the first time Coreg generic and I told the dr I was having trouble remembering to take the 2nd dose so was there a BP med that I could take once a day. I will say my blood pressure was very high in the office. I had forgotten my sheet (after a hectic morning) that gave bp readings for the last month. My pb had been good when taken at home which I shared.
Avatar m tn Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?
Avatar f tn can help some people who were taking Provigil but you have to ask your doctor about that. I only hope this drug goes to a generic form one day so I can have it again. It had been a life saver for me and how I am starting to regress. Good luck!
Avatar m tn I may be wrong but I think you are correct that the name brand Adderall made by Shire will be discontinued and replaced by Vyvanse. That being said, you will continue to be able to get the generic brands. It was explained to me that the whole reason Vyvanse was released was because Adderall was coming off patent and Shire needed a "latest and greatest" to compete with the generic manufacturers. I'm sure I'll be corrected if this is wrong but that's the story I was told.
Avatar f tn My name is Bob, and I have had ADHD as long as I have lived. I have taken Ritalin for most of my life, but my doctor recently switched my to Vyvanse. Because I had some Ritalin left, I tried it at the same time as the Vyvanse. It worked perfectly. The problem is that the DEA are quite strict, and they don't think that is cool, apparently. Some doctors, however, are fine with writing prescriptions for two ADHD drugs; I just have to find out who they are.
Avatar m tn I take 1.5 mg Klonopin + 50 mgs of Vyvanse. I have ADD but the Vyvanse is also prescribed for depression as I cannot take absolutely any antidepressant without incredible agitation. That started several years ago. Here's the problem at hand, as it starts: Every time I sleep, whether day (as in nap, a rare occasion) or night, I have disturbing dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation.
Avatar f tn what is a generic drug?
Avatar n tn 0 down to 0.
Avatar f tn When I checked originally it was to see if there was a generic for Vyvanse and several people were attributing the lack of effect from being maybe a question of a change in the generic.
Avatar f tn Yes it's totally legal. If you want more information there's a guy on the internet who outlines the process, whether you travel abroad or order online. He actually wrote a book and started a blog on it. He also started a buyer's club but no need to go that route. His name is Greg Jefferys, google his name for more information.
538782 tn?1213809348 I'm new to this website. Question, I'm soon to be taking my third dose of clomid. I haven't picked up my prescription yet but, i'm lost.. I don't know whether to take the generic or name brand. Ive been taken the generic(clomiphene citrate) for the past two cycles with no luck.. Dr said he would rather me be on the brand name. It is more expensive. I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn My question concerns Synthroid. On Dec 04, 2006 at 12:00AM, Mark Lupo, M.D. said in answer to a question: "Levoxyl is another brand -- there is no advantage to Synthroid. Protecting the brand has advantages over generic regarding consistency of levels. the generic is levothyroxine". Huh? What on earth does that answer mean? "Protecting"? "consistency of levels?
Avatar n tn What is the generic name, chemical name, classification and contraindications for Lyvoxil?
Avatar f tn ve taken, both, generic levothyroxine (T4) and liothyronine (T3), as well, as brand name Synthroid and Cytomel. I did better on on generic levo than I did on Synthyroid... I've been taking generic liothyronine for over 5 yrs and have done just as well as I did on Cytomel. I don't think you'll have any difficulty, with generic T3, but if you do, you can always go back to Cytomel.
