A couple months ago, I was prescribed Vyvanse for ADHD/Low motivational drive & concentration issues. My doctor started me on 30mg of Vyvanse to be taken once in the morning. The first day I took it my energy and focus level shot up to what must be considered "normal" because I could actually get out of bed and focus in my classes! It was amazing. But, after that first day, nothing. After about 2 weeks of trying it out, it almost felt like I was taking a sugar pill.

Popping in a few grapefruit after 6-7 hours of medication will not cause much harm. However, do not go overboard! Grapefruit can hydrolyse lisdexamfetamine in Vyvanse making more of it available. Hi! My question is a bit ironic. I take medications because I have a very bad problem of focussing and stuff. But sometimes, I am so unfocus when I get up in the morning, that I can't tell if I have taken or not my vyvanse... I do use that little week-by-week bokes thing, but sometimes I'm too busy to think about filling it for a week. So I don't want solutions to avoid it happening again, I'll do my best so it does not happen again with those little pill boxes.

Hi My daughter abused Adderall for months, then I tried it and started abusing it ... Its a picker upper. It helps you to motivate and do more then you normally would do. I don't know what Vyvanse is or what the generic for it is. I'll have to look it up.

Hey all -- I live near Cincinnati, OH and Adderall IR (generic) has been scarce at best. Back in Sept 2011 I had to call about 10 pharmacies before I found one that had 20mg IR Qty 60. Since then my doc switched me over to Adderall (ER) b/c it is easier to find. I'm not a big fan of how to Adderall (ER) made me feel (little anxious, restless, and oddly enough I had a lot of disorganized thinking -- very strange). Doc put me on Vyvanse this month and not tolerating it well.

My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.

im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?

I may be wrong but I think you are correct that the name brand Adderall made by Shire will be discontinued and replaced by Vyvanse. That being said, you will continue to be able to get the generic brands. It was explained to me that the whole reason Vyvanse was released was because Adderall was coming off patent and Shire needed a "latest and greatest" to compete with the generic manufacturers. I'm sure I'll be corrected if this is wrong but that's the story I was told.
