Yes, your Pharmacist is always a good source of information BUT I think I would be asking MY Doctor. Did the same Doctor give you BOTH medications?
Amen and he was seeing a pattern with people on those two drugs and Vyvanse. I joined the forum just to let you know tat, it can become very dangerous, but sadly not all of our doctors are doing some of the research as their patients are. Please look through the videos and you will find it. Feel better....
Okay so I'm not an addict but this is the closest forum I can find that might be able to. Answer my question. I took (1) 30mg pill of vyvanse (I am not prescribed and have never taken before.
My question: Every time I sleep, day (as in nap, occasionally) or night, I have strange dreams I can't put a finger on. I'm often very sad anxious and in some type of bad situation. THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc.
My 20 year old son recently gradually weaned off 60 mg/day Vyvanse so that he can join the Marines (must be off for 1 year - military rules). He is having a very rough time. Extreme fatigue, totally unmotivated, extreme focus issues. He says he feels like a totally different person off totally off the med. Appetite is high too but he knows how to control that. My question is are these symptoms temporary - does it take a while for his body to adjust to being off the med?
My son has been on vyvanse for 4 months now, he is having horrible side effects, to the point where you can't reason with him. We need to get him off this terrible drug before it kills him. You can't just stop taking it because, so how do we get him off this drug?
My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
im on the highest dosage of vyvanse and its supposed to last longer than addorall but it seems to be working less and less...is that possible?? im sick of insurance not paying for this medication yet not getting any other substantial benifit from vyvanse, anyone else experience a increased tolerence to any add meds?
my step son is supposed to take vyvanse and clonidine, but he has been out of vyvance for 3weeks now and seems fine taking only clonidine.
The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
I was diagnosed with ADD about a year ago. I am a 15, almost 16 year old boy. I tried a few different medicines, but none worked. I prefer medical marijuana but we finally found something that worked. Vyvanse. I'm not to sure about how this stuff works and I was curious on how it works. Does Vyvanse help depression? I tend to think poorly about the future and about working out. But when I take a 40-50mg pill, I feel happy, confident, focused and smart. Am I the only one who experiences this?
Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes
the medication for the second condition ?
Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?
My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
I am really sensitive to medications. Adderall was like what I imagine taking crystal methamphetamine feels like. At least I felt like how those people looked.
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
My question is this: Has anyone taken adhd medication such as vyvanse and is in recovery from adrugs and alcohol?
I started Vyvanse back in August 2010, and it was the miracle that I've been searching for. Over a span of 4 years, I've taken stimulants including: Concerta, 30mg Adderall IR, and 30mg Adderall XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall XR completely sucked. Adderall IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall is horrible in comparison.
I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now.
I initially posted this question in the Mood Disorders forum, and someone there suggested that I try here, as well.
I recently discovered that I have OCPD, and I have TMJ as well - is there a chance that they are related? My TMJ symptoms come and go (I'm moderately successful at managing them), but when they flare up, they're debilitating.
Additional Info: I also have adult ADHD (I was diagnosed with it at 21, and have been on Vyvanse for about 3 years now).
I suffer from EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness) in addition to ADHD of the primarily inattentive type. I find vyvanse and/or Ritalin to be helpful in terms of making me alert and functional which of course has the secondary benefit of improving my executive function issues. With adderall not only am I more alert but it also has a marked impact on my executive function and task management in addition to the wakefulness.
Adderall 10 mg = Vyvanse 30 mg, Adderall 20 mg = Vyvanse 50 mg, Adderall 30 mg = Vyvanse 70 mg. I always start lower than expected with a change to Vyvanse, as for about 10-15% that anticipated dose of Vyvanse proves too much. I don’t want folks on my watch to experience 10% problems."

t tell you that much about the effects of Vyvanse. Certainly some of the people on the forum have mentioned effects like you have stated and others have praised vyvanse due to how gentile acting it is.
Having said that, I think it would be a little unusual for someone who has been on vyvanse for a year to suddenly start having a reaction to it. As long as the dose has not changed. Even the different time period shouldn't matter since he has been on that for two months.
