Hello. I have recently been prescribed zoloft and dextroamfetamine (vyvanse). My dose has just been raised to 150 zoloft and 50 vyvanse. I am feeling dizzy, I'm sweating like crazy lying down in a cold room, and I've thrown up a few times since I took the increased dosages earlier today. Occasionally it feels like my heart has butterfly wings too. Am I just having panic attacks? I heard the dex can increase anxiety... I don't have insurance here...
If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. On the drug test aspect, Vyvanse is out of your system exponentially faster than Adderall. The half life of V is 47 minutes compared to a half life of 9-14 hours for Adderall. Example for those unaware how half-lifes of drugs work.
2 subjects; 1 takes 30mg of V, other takes 30mg of Adderall at 12pm. In 47 minutes @ 12:47pm, there will be 15mg (or half original dose) of the parent drug in V user's system.
Why are you taking 3 Vyvanse pills of 70mg = 210mg?? Stop taking that much. I have been on Vyvanse for a legit condition for 7 years and have only recently had to have a small mg tablet add-on of adderall XR to take at the end of the day if my Vyvanse feels like its wearing off. You are asking for serious health problems if you continue taking that medicine irresponsibly. Not to be mean, but given the shear seriousness of your post, where is your common sense??
It seems I'm out of luck then; Vyvanse is probably the mildest ADHD (stimulant) drug used; I'm told that Adderall is quite a bit harder on the cardiovascular system. I've tried Straterra, a non-amphetamine drug, but it didn't work.
My blood pressure was 121/76 this morning before taking anything, and that's an average of taking it 4 times over a 30 min time period.
I know he is not abusing the Vyvanse, but can the Vyvanse be increasing his want of the alcohol and the coke? The warnings for the drug say do not take this medicine if you have addiction issues. Is this because it could put you back into the addiction cycle with any drug, or because there is fear of abusing the vyvanse, or both? My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. t taken vyvanse for 3 months but have consistent chest pain which started when taking the drug. my blood pressure did go up when taking the drug so i was put on atenolol. I had since discontinued the drug (about 3 months ago) but the side effects continue . I have 24/7 tight chest.
Anyone with similar experience, recommendations, etc?
How did your son do on the Vyvanse? Did it help him focus? Was he better behaved and more accepted by his peers? Have his grades plummeted after coming off? If this is the case then coming off the drug has had a big impact on his life and it could cause depression. Any type of stimulant can cause you to be more confident and promote a general feeling of well-being. When you take that away there can be some rebound depression. I would definitely seek counseling for him.
My daughter taking vyvanse several months ago. I believe she is abusing the drug. How would she even do that? The pill is a 50mg capsule, now yes it can be opened and it does contain powder inside. But can you really abuse this medication and please explain to me how you would even abuse this medication?
You can go to the FDA site and e-mail or telephone for the physician who is responsible for the drug. Use the generic name. At the FDA every drug is assigned to a physician investigator. Once you get his name e-mail him. If you don't waste their time they are quite helpful. If you feel this side effect has happened, you need to report it as a "possible adverse effect". Adderall works off the Ph levels and distributes the drug based on the levels throughout the day. Vyvanse is a 12 hour drug as it dissolves in water or fluid in your body. Both are addictive so be careful, Just research has shown that Vyvanse is the least likely to be abused out off the ADD drugs on the market.
I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. So I am afraid to stay on it and I am afraid to go off it.
