Vyvanse and rebound effect

Common Questions and Answers about Vyvanse and rebound effect

vyvanse

Avatar m tn Could your hbp on vyvanse be aggravated by a rebound effect from not taking atenolol? Or perhaps you have too high of a vyvanse dose?
203342 tn?1328737207 It feels like food gets stuck going down and it takes effort to swallow and get that food and drink down! I have constant heartburn, it never goes away. When I posted this question on the Gastro forum someone suggested I was having a rebound effect from getting off the Nexium for awhile. This is concerning to me for several reasons. If this is true, then that means I'm dependent on this drug and I don't want to be dependent on anything.
Avatar m tn Thus, I suppose the answer could in part be a rebound effect in the case of both anxiety and depression? However, the morning attacks seem anxiety related. I now believe a OCD is involved, which Vyvanse at least focuses. Obviously, you can see the additional problem: I cannot take a medication that consistently relieves the depression. Frequently, I return to depressed and/or the Vyvanse wears off and I "crash." This is all so complicated.
Avatar m tn I posted this in the General health section but I'm going to re-post here as this seems a more appropriate forum for this: So about 6 months ago I was stricken by anxiety and severe panic attacks after my psych doc decided to cold turkey stop my Vyvanse because my resting heart rate was getting too high. I dealt with what felt like a constant panic attack 24 hours a day for nearly 2 months. To give you an idea how bad it was, I lost nearly 40 lbs in the short span of time.
Avatar n tn my 11 year old son is coming off of Vyvanse. He has been off for a month and he told me he was going to commit suicide becasue of is grades at school. I know this is not normal, but is tis one fo the side effects when coming off the drug?
Avatar f tn He takes 50 mg of Vyvanse daily and was wondering if anyone has experienced this side effect with Vyvanse. Thank you.
Avatar n tn My son who is 9 yrs old has started Vyvanse since January of this year. He is currently on about 25 mg of Vyvanse. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it takes a long time to kick in, like about 2.5 hours for my son. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do.
Avatar m tn Recent blood work and VAP results point to mostly normal levels (slightly elevated VLDL3 and slightly pattern a/b). My question concerns aspirin and the “rebound effect” associated with stopping the regular aspirin regimen. In the past 3 years or so I have taken baby aspirin on and off. Sometimes every day; sometimes every other day, sometimes not for months. I have read in several places that it can be very beneficial and in others that it can be harmful if taken regularly if not needed.
Avatar f tn My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.
Avatar m tn I checked for side effects for Vyvanse but aside from stomach pain, and diarrhea no other relatable side effects were shown. I was curious if anyone taking this medication or similar type of medication has experience this or been able to manage this issue.
Avatar f tn I know this is an old thread, but my breasts are very sore and I'm taking Vyvanse. I've had a hysterectomy and have not been in birth control in over 10 years. I'm glad I saw this thread and know now that others have the same issue!
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Vyvanse around 5-6 months ago and take it on a regular basis (40mg). I was upped to 40mg about two months ago. I have had clumps of hair falling out, usually in the shower and can noticeably tell that my hair is thinning. I am a 22 year old Female and have never had this problem before. I have no other health problems to my knowledge. I'm currently in college, which is why stopping the Vyvanse just isn't an option right now.
Avatar m tn I started to try different doses of Vyvanse and Adderall, starting at 10mg Vyvanse and going up to 50mg, and starting at 5mg Adderall (IR) and increasing to 10, at most, 4x a day. All of these medications seemed to increase my depressive symptoms, and since I wasn't really retaining much or cognizant of how I was doing, I ended up going three weeks without touching my homework, going to class or talking to my friends.
Avatar f tn I take 50mg of Vyvanse daily and have allergies ever now and then. Is it ok to take Benadryl while I'm taking Vyvanse?
Avatar n tn According to the info on vyvanse, unlike other meds, you cannot snort the chemicals and get high. It must be ingested. Of course, this begs the question of where she learned to break open the capsules and snort and why. Furtheremore, if she has ADHD, the medication should not affect her the way it would someone without ADHD. So there is something weird going on here.
Avatar f tn s side effect is to make them hungry and gain weight!!! Plus it helps with her allergies and asthma!! She is maintaining and has grown over the summer... so far so good... I hope this helps you...
Avatar m tn -Concerta completely tweaked me out and I got nothing accomplished. It felt like I was on speed and could not think clear, and I got an extremely cold feeling and experienced anxiety.. so a definite no go there - Adderall was an improvement over Concerta but still left me with too much stimulant and less clear thinking. I proceeded to use Adderall for over a year until I had a friend told me about Vyvanse.
Avatar n tn He was put on to concerta with many side effects.no appetite weight loss and extreme rebound effect at night which was unbearable. During that time I discovered neurotherapy and he started sessions 3 times a week. He improved markedly in his, concentration and focus in class and behaviour and meds were stopped. Since then his hyperactivity anger tantrums and impulsiveness has returned after 4 months but his schoolwork seems the same and is doing well at school, he is now 7yrs old.

Avatar m tn Try taking your blood pressure a few times on the Vyvanse and off the Vyvanse, at similar times of day and under similar circumstances. Depending on the results, you may need to talk to the doctor that is prescribing the Vyvanse to see if there is something else that can help your ADHD. I do agree with Yvette BG's other comments, above.
Avatar f tn Vyvanse is metabolized differently, so could last longer in your system. It was done so you could not snort it like you can with Adderall. Adderall gives a stronger first "hit". V is smoother and takes longer to take effect so may not be as noticeable. Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
Avatar n tn I been taking all three meds suboxone 1 day, vyvanse 1 day, and klonapin 2 day, I been abusing illigal drugs for past few years. coke and heroi in exessive amouts. I have stoppet 6 months agoo. igot married and have baby on the way. I am so sick of these meds. To me the same thing only problem is I work 80 hours a week and there is no way taking two weeks off. Avatar f tn there is a rebound effect to start with when you stop nexium. This was found in clinical trials when healthy people with no digestive problems developed acid reflux after stopping nexium. Osteoporosis can be reversed as well. I'll send you a few links to check out.
