Avatar f tn Is it safe to be prescribed xanax for a vyvanse patient who suffers from panic and anxiety issues?
Avatar n tn I AM REALLY AFRAID TO TRY PROZAC 20 MG ALONG WITH VYVANSE 20 BECAUSE OF SERATONIN SYNDROME. PLEASE HELP. I AM 42 DIAGNOSED WITH ADHD .

Avatar f tn It seems like every pill I try-either it helps my acne and makes me hungry and sooooo...... tired. I am also on Vyvanse for ADHD and that decreases my appetite. However, I have been on Yaz for a few months, and I swear it reverses all the positive effects of Vyvanse (more energy/decreased appetite) because I am so tired and hungry all the time. In the past I have tried Lo-Estrin, Nuva-Ring,& Ortho Tri Cyclen. Does anyone have any recommendations for the perfect pill--i.e.
Avatar n tn I am now 35, 3 children and when i was diagnosed manic-depressive i was on prozac, wellbutrin and taking hi levels of prescription weight loss pills. I was losing my mind but i wasn't losing any weight! When my Psychatrist decided to try me on Topamax it was because of my anieity over my weight gain with the standard mood stabilizers. Within these past two years I have lost 38 pounds taking this medicine.
Avatar m tn The patient becomes toxic to the amphetamine, angry, irrational, can’t sleep, can’t eat, and can become dangerously destructive. The Adderall or Vyvanse often gets blamed. The Prozac and the Paxil are the problem. More about Adderall in a later post." This is from http://www.corepsych.com/2006/11/adderall-prozac-and-paxil-problem-not-solution/ I mention this because perhaps your problems with the anti-anxiety meds was due to the above.
Avatar f tn the amphetamines i take for adhd seem to lessen my anxiety but if you don't have adhd it will just cause you anxiety and other bad stuff. the vyvanse for adhd really lessened my use of xanax. it takes trial and error to find which meds work for you. you might need another med change or an anti anxiety medicine added to help. good luck and if you aren't happy with your doctor, if you don't think they have your best interests at heart or don't listen, then find a new one that will.

Print it out and take it to your doctor. Its not the stim meds.
Avatar n tn i have been suffering from debilatating allergies/sinus probs, fatigue, and dizziness for about a year now. i do have allergies to mold, dust, milk products, and corn products. my allergy doc says my symptoms are all from allergies, but i have been trying everything 2 avoid the allergens, been getting allergy shots, tried numerous allergy medications, with no help from anything! does anyone else experience this type of thing? i seriously feel like i am getting so depressed.
Avatar n tn I am coming off of Prozac (after 15 years!), and have come off of Buspar. I am doing it v-e-r-y slowly, to make sure I'm okay and that it is done safely and forever. I am also working closely with a doctor. These medications are powerful, and so coming off of them is also powerful. I understand not wanting to be on them, but I'd suggest you be careful and find a doc to work with. Good luck, I know this can really suck!
Avatar f tn i also take abilify (for mania) and xanax for anxiety and panic, vyvanse for adhd and a host of other meds from lortab and soma's(muscle relaxer) to nexium(for acid reflux) and mobic (for joint pain). i'm quitting smoking tomorrow so i'm sure the xanax and soma's will come into play, i usually don't take them everyday but i might take them as prescribed until i get through the rough first week. if you ever need to talk i'm here, just send a not or message.
Avatar m tn Thank you both for your comments and encouragement. The last ones I tried were Prozac and Welbutrin (together). I went for almost 5 weeks, and wasn't feeling anything at all. So yesterday when I went back to my dr., he said at that point I should have been feeling SOMEthing. And my counselor had told me that, in his experience, Prozac was one of those that either works or it doesn't, no in between. I should have been seeing at least small signs of improvement.
Avatar f tn But I do remember that my memory and concentration along with my mood were worse on the lower concerta and vyvanse combo than it was on a higher dose of concerta. I am not sure if this matters, but I have been told I am anemic (apparently my iron levels are very low)... and I have not been taking my supplements/vitamins. Except I took them yesterday as the exhaustion is killing me.

Read more: http://www.corepsych.com/2006/11/adderall-prozac-and-paxil-problem-not-solution/#ixzz3AWdzGMAh Problem being that straterra is not a stim med per se, but that interaction may occur. I will try and find out more on that.
1190024 tn?1264692022 and I have great anxiety and lots of stress. I have been taking xanax for about 3 years, and it seems like it's only thing that helps me. Currently I'm on 2 mgs per day. Last April I was evaluated by a Psychiatrist and diagnosed with Bipolar II. She tried to get me off my xanax and prescribed propranolol, which I didn't feel was effective, but propbably just didn't wait long enough so I stopped taking it .
Avatar n tn But right before all that, I was experiencing sharp neck pains and severe trembling and spasms that got much worse once I decided to stop cold turkey (the vyvanse first and then the zoloft). In a psych ward, I was given Geodon and the intense sharp neck pain started almost 5-10minutes within taking the pill. Then I started taking Buspar; same thing accompanied with tight chest and feelings of death.

Avatar m tn Perhaps you could find some child care so that you can go to initial appointments and be focused on yourself. I'm a stay at home mom of two kids as well and they are close together in age and understand how that it is not ideal to take them with you to everywhere you go. If you have a friend that you can 'trade' occasional babysitting with, this works great---- meaning that during your doctor's appts.
Avatar f tn At the end, ask him if he could give you a hug, than give him a tight hug and kiss than tell him that you miss his hugs and that you were thinking that he and you could have an even special private bond together if only you and him were to go into therapy together and with no other family members.
Avatar f tn Unfortunatly as in my case and many I have heard it gets worse as they get older on top of the disorder you have hormones and what not. My 12 yr old is fairly uncontrollable and he is on vyvanse (sp.) for the hyperactivity and risperdal for mood swings doesbt seem to be helping much these days, our house is in constant turmoil because of his mood. I feel for you and I know his brother does too, he gets the your stupid, we all get the I hate you and you ruin my life bit.
Avatar f tn I was extremely hyper and had racing thoughts and was elated the other day, then I felt ok but lazy for a few days, then depressed for a couple of days and super tired, and now I am extremely irritable and I keep getting mad and yelling at people and just about everything. Yesterday I started digging my nails into my skin without even realizing it because I was so upset that my husband invited a co worker to lunch with us and I didn't want to deal with people at the moment.
1147530 tn?1314825196 I'm on a very low dose anti-depressant for the fibro aches, I take a generic allergy pill each morning, and Vyvanse for my ADD. It may be a pharmaceutical condtion too so I will have to check all bases on this. I was just going to let it ride, but after I googled it and read all these "testamonials", there's got to be something to this, hopefully it's just benign.
Avatar n tn I am right along with you I understand my husband is going thew the same thing and he is very angry it is crazy and makes me feel sad. We have 2 kids together and he has been yelling at all of us he is just not him self I miss the husband that I had before the pills and maybe we can support each other threw this I keep telling myself that one day I will have my husband back and it will all be worth it the anger and the depression and all of it.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed both Zoloft and Prozac with Klonopin for the symptoms of anxiety and depression, but I still seem to pick at me head. The kicker is that I also do this in my sleep. I will literally wake up with blood under my nails. What treatment options are there other than medication? Should I tell my primary care physician or should I talk to a psychiatrist? What are some of the causes of this, could it be OCD?
975514 tn?1325001538 and SSRI's are really common among them are paxil, prozac, and welbutrin. So speak with your doctor before taking them together because it was a really terrifying experience. Anyway I am basically here because I am having some drastic new symptoms and I am desperate to find out if anyone else is having them or anyone knows what it is. I posted it in ask an expert so I won't recount them here.
Avatar n tn U have already had the worst of it and now, they will begin to taper off and get better and better. The irritability may last a little longer, but not much I imagine. Anyway, congrats. U took the meds like u should and didnt ever get into trouble w/ them. That says a lot to me. Anyway, that makes a difference during all of this, in my opinion. Stay positive and by the end of the weekend, I bet they are a memory, distand I hope. How is your pain now? Do u have another way to manage it?
Avatar f tn So, what dose did everyone here have their success? And what type of diet/eating plan and exercise plan did you do to help it along? I'm desperate to lose 40 lbs (half of which I gained on Zoloft-no longer taking). PLEASE respond if you had any weightloss on this drug, I'm very curious. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
