I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
I then was put back on the Prozac and my doctor added Vyvanse for the binge eating disorder. The BED was cured but my OCD symptoms and anxiety have gotten MUCH worse. I am unsure if my BED will come back if I go off of the Vyvanse. I am wondering if the BED was cured partly from the Vyvanse, and partly from going back on the Prozac, which may have helped me to stop obsessing about dieting.
I currently take Prozac, Lithium (ER), and Vyvanse each 1x a day. I also get an injection of Depo-Provera once every 3 months. I also have an Rx for Xanex, which is to be taken as needed, but I have not taken it in months. I also often self-medicate with caffine pills - I took two 200mg caffine pills yesterday around 5pm. I also took some Aleve at that time, as I have been having eye pain and headaches for the last two weeks and I was hoping to aleviate that pain.

got a new dr in may cause old one retired he had me try to up prozac and trouble with that so his asso. had me totally stop the prozac and go on wellbutrin sr 150am and pm,,,,after a week i was having prozac withdrawals so back on prozac i went and still on wellbutrin to be honest i dont know if my depression is something else cause neither brought me up or were stimulating..my new dt thinks i have slight add..anywayas i have been tapering off the prozac 10 mg a week per dr...
Thus far though they have worked very well together. Vyvanse is a newer ADD med and I specifically requested something other than Adderall due to side affects. My doctor explained to me that because Vyvanse has a very good time release the boost is similar however not as overbearing and much easier as it wears off than Adderall because the "come down" or "crash" does not cause such a severe low.
Prozac and Paxil both significantly block the pathway for the metabolism of Adderall and all the amphetamine products. [Wellbutrin and Cymbalta can block 2D6 at their higher doses.] If you take either of these two antidepressants together with an amphetamine, just watch out. You can significantly become overdosed on the amphetamine and suffer significant side effects. Often this interaction can unpredictably occur several months later.
all drs love to push pills and you are on a new type of ssri med with cymbalta and the old prozac pills back in the olden days and i dont hear good things about the tricyclics. can cause eventaully strokes and other negative pills side effects. why are you on 2 anti depression meds. take one or the other. you need to be open and tell dr what you want not what he wants. trust me!!

I mention this because perhaps your problems with the anti-anxiety meds was due to the above. And thus you might be able to deal with something in "the venlafaxine series including the generic, Effexor XR and Pristiq, then Lexapro and Celexa.
I had been taking prozac for almost 10 years and it worked great. Then, it's like it just quit working. I switched to Celexa and I don't feel like it works at all. The only thing that seems to relieve my anxiety is Xanax which I am scared of becoming dependent on. But, I am about to just say forget it and take it as needed instead of trying to stay down to 1 a day. I only take .25 mg, but it seems like it is not working as well as it used to.
We now switched him to concerta (lasts longer than focalin)...and added Prozac. Teacher really likes the results at school. However...evenings are hectic. He becomes very silly and immature. Often displaying autistic like behaviors--flapping hands, grunting, weird noises etc. Demeanor is relatively happy and giggly....Before just on ADHD meds...the withdrawal he was very angry and aggressive. He takes clonodine to sleep. But is very amped up at night. Could this be a side effect?
No other medications at all. She was also teaching Bible studies for college aged kids, had just had her photos printed in a local magazine for her swing dancing abilities. I went to the hospital to visit her today, and she seems so empty of emotions. She was very involved in reading the Bible and I have to ask this question. Actually, Vyvanse and Adderol ARE prescribed together for many patients like me —because they have opposite strengths and weaknesses. Doctors prescribe Adderol specifically to address a weakness of Vyvanse.
Vyvanse maintains a long, steady, consistent blood level all day — advantages over Adderal. But Vyvanse takes three hours to kick in, while it is metabolized in the liver so it has that nice long steady life. On the other hand, Adderol kicks in immediately, and has a short effective life.
I am partially on Vyvanse because I cannot take any antidepressant whatsoever, which occurred about three to four years ago. No clue why. Thus, off Vyvanse, my depression returns to baseline. And I find it hard right now in this condition to write a very comprehensible sentences and put them together. Whats wrong?
Medications: Vyvanse 50mg, dextroamphetamine 10mg (as needed), propranolol (20 but I tapered it into 10), wellbutrin (100 SR twice a day)
(I never took more than the recommended dosage, but a lot of the time, I change the dosage thought the month depending on the day by loweing it.
