Avatar n tn In girls there are various causes of urinary pain ranging from UTIs to vulvovaginitis, labial adhesions and foreign body in vagina like a toilet paper etc. Hematuria or blood in urine both visible and invisible is another cause. You should take your daughter to your gynecologist once and to an urologist. She may or may not need further tests like urethroscopy, IVP etc. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn Hello, Such swelling of the vagina can be due to vulvovaginitis. Vaginal swelling can occur due to edema, inflammation, infection, cysts, abscesses or tumors. Even yeast infection can cause vaginal swelling. You need to get an examination done from a gynecologist and a KOH examination of the vaginal discharge done. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn Estrogen deficiency can cause vaginal dryness and itching. The other causes can be due to irritants, vulvovaginitis due to candida albicans or Trichomonas vaginalis. In such cases vaginal smear, wet mount and culture will aid in diagnosis. You may need to take appropriate antibiotics, if infection is suspected. Maintain absolute cleanliness (you and your partner) like proper washing of hands. Symptoms will subside soon, if not consult gynecologist. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination ,confirming a diagnosis is tough but it can be due to allergy to weeds, vulvovaginitis(inflammation of the vagina and vulva) ,pinworms and vaginal infections.Pinworms is a strong possibility because your daughter is also having itching in her private parts and moreover you help her wipe. I sincerely advise you to get a stool examination of yourself and your daughter done to rule out pinworms. If found negative then other possibilities should be probed. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Itchy swollen labia and yellow vaginal discharge is seen in cervicits (inflammation of cervix). Vulvovaginitis (inflammation of vulva and vagina) and STDs like gonorrhea and chlamydia. Agreed condoms form a protective layer, but they may tear or form holes during sex making both partners vulnerable to STDs. Do consult your gynecologist and get a complete STD panel done. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn I tend to agree you should wait, if you can. It's all about delayed gratification! I had a severe case of vulvovaginitis whilst in my 30's (I suspect it was y/i, since otc creme cleared it up in a just a few days), but my husband and I had intercourse right in the midst of my itchy, red, inflammation phase. It felt soooo good at the time, as in scratching both a mosquito bite and satisfying the 'urge', but I suffered afterwards.
Avatar n tn Hi, vaginal irritation can be seen in dryness of vagina, contact dermatitis, allergy to garments and Vulvovaginitis (candida [yeast] or trichomonas). Vulvo vaginitis is seen secondary to improper personal hygiene. Whereas contact dermatitis can be due to irritation which is mediated by histamine release. This dermatitis can later be complicated by candidiasis. You need to undergo vaginal smear and wet mount to rule out candida and trichomonas. it should be treated with appropriate antibiotics.
1712732 tn?1308449834 Yellow vaginal discharge is seen in cervicits (inflammation of cervix), vulvovaginitis (inflammation of vulva and vagina) and STDs like gonorrhea and chlamydia. Cervicitis is not a STD and may not cause any symptom. STDs like gonorrhea and Chlamydia (also known as silent disease) too may present late. All these can cause irregular periods as well. The discharge can also become yellow due to medicines and also it could be a normal finding. If it is a STD, you can pass it to your partner.
Avatar f tn Other causes of brownish discharge are hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicits (inflammation of cervix), vulvovaginitis (inflammation of vulva and vagina), cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, genital ulcers, STDs and stress. You can discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist as on net and without examining it is difficult to give a confirmed opinion. A PAP smear and a STD panel must be done too along with a pregnancy test. Take care!
Avatar m tn About 10 days ago, I felt an itchy sensation, and had a cottage cheese discharge which automatically clicked in my head that I had a yeast infection(I've had them before, but not that often.). I made a Dr. appt to go later that week, but in between that time, my bf and I had sex everyday until then.On my appt day, we had sex again.. Rough sex.. And he is VERY well endowed,to the point where he tore me.. When I went to the dr, I was SUPER irritated by then..
Avatar n tn Hello, From the age of your daughter and the symptoms, , I would like to rule out the possibility of vulvovaginitis. It is an inflammation of the vagina and vulva, most often caused by a bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection. Other possibilities are pinworms and vaginal infections. Pinworms is a strong possibility because your daughter is also having itching in her private parts and moreover you help her wipe.
Avatar f tn Hope someone can answer this fast. I got an doctor's order for a mammogram and it states "diagnoses: routine GYN exam, Herpes simplex vulvovaginitis." I am so embarrassed and feel like this is a violation of my privacy to have this information on a simple yearly order for a mammogram. My question is could this be a mistake or is this very private and embarrassing info necessary to have included on a mammogram order?
Avatar f tn Pelvic and/or vaginal pain can be due to UTIs, vulvovaginitis, labial adhesions and foreign body in vagina like a toilet paper etc, STD, PID or pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine or extra uterine endometriosis, kidney stones and vaginal prolapse.
Avatar f tn ugh, you've got it rough, haven't you?! Do you think that the itching before your period is due to yeast? I have heard of this happening in a cyclic way with our cycle. Vulvovaginitis is a chronic condition that is considered an inflammatory condition. Here's an article on it. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/322014#causes This article says one cause is reduced estrogen around the start of menopause or after childbirth.
Avatar f tn It is relieving that this is not STD-related (I have been tested 2 times for everything, including another UTI, but still nothing). I have been doing a lot of read-up on vulvovaginitis and vulvodynia which is just constant pain down there but it's really not that painful, just sometimes mild burning, more annoying than painful. Has anyone had anything similar to this? It's so frustrating to not have the right answers even going to the doctor.
Avatar f tn Vaginal or vulval pain can be due to UTIs, vulvovaginitis, labial adhesions and foreign body in vagina like a toilet paper etc, STD, PID or pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine or extra uterine endometriosis, kidney stones and vaginal prolapse. If you have a previous history of abdominal surgery, then this can be due to adhesions which can be diagnosed by laproscopy only. It can also be due to nerve impingement either pudendal nerve or spinal nerve.
Avatar n tn Signs and symptoms included vulvovaginitis, increased urination and soreness. I also developed 3 acne-like eruptions after a day with one specifically located on my vulva. These were not painful, did not form any open sores and disappeared within 2 weeks. The yeast infection symptoms subsided within a week. However, last week I started experiencing soreness and stabbing pains in and around the labia majora. This too subsided within 3 days.
Avatar n tn gov/ddiseases/pubs/intestinaladhesions/ Pelvic and vaginal pain can be due to UTIs, vulvovaginitis, labial adhesions and foreign body in vagina like a toilet paper etc, STD, PID or pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine or extra uterine endometriosis, kidney stones and vaginal prolapse. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor, preferably a gynecologist. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar n tn triamcinolone cream/nystatin, which seemed to help. 3 days after oral fluc and 7 days from the start of her sxs, the sxs resolved. She had a + cx for candida as well. I’m praying my test was a false positive, I sent for a Western blot. I’ve only slept with 3 people in my life, all relationships. Please help me, do you think I have herpes? My sxs don’t fit, but I hate the way this time line panned out. Risk of transmission from 1 isolated asympto unprotected sexual encounter?

Avatar f tn I am still suffering everything from abdominal pain to abnormal discharge, and everything associated with vulvovaginitis. My partner is completely fine. We went almost 3 months without sex so reinfection is impossible. All of our tests are negative and the doctor dismissed lichen sclerosus. I am also NOT pregnant. It's been 4 months since all this began with my last testing being this week. I feel like I have been tested for almost every likely thing on the planet.
