1253197 tn?1331209110 Diagnosed August, 2013 Neurologist talked about how important D3 supplements were, along with magnesium and zinc. Lots of sun recommended and supplements recommended.
Avatar f tn Flonase...isn't that addictive?? Just use a netti pot. I think there are low dose zinc lozenges and supplements. I'd get a 2nd opinion r research more, but imho & recent experience: sore throat came on and went away on its own. So how about just trying a little extra water and orange juice, or squeeze fresh lemon into warm or hot water? Would you give your baby flonase for stuffy nose? If not, don't use it for yourself either. Think about the fact that you can have a baby...
487969 tn?1249313291 after reading posts on here i have tried a multi vitamin and mineral and also a selenium tablet as im from the uk we only get t4 supplements and i read somewhere that selenium along with iodine and zinc can help with the conversion of t4 to t3 i must admit i do feel better after two weeks of taking it.
Avatar f tn I started having this problem after consuming calcium supplements. I took the supplements up to a point I started getting acne breakouts and rashes and I stopped immediately. Then I started having the same breakouts and rashes when I take high calcium foods. They subside when I take high phosphorus foods like meats. I read that calcium supplements can cause phosphorus deficiency. Please see: http://www.nutraingredients.
Avatar m tn I have been talking zinc supplements (50mg) single tablet per day for 8days now and I have noticed frequent urination. Does anyone know if zinc is the cause?
Avatar f tn ANyone take any special supplements such as vitamins or mineral or other supplements to relieve the CFS symptoms. I currently take amino acid herbs and vitamin d3.
Avatar n tn My TSH level is finally normal - 3.79 & my Free T4 is 1.39. I recently started taking a multi-mineral supplement but noticed it has 150 mcg of Iodine. I noticed I was real tired when I started taking the multi-mineral but it could also be coincidental. To play it safe - I tried to find another multi-mineral supplement but found none without either Iodine or Kelp. I can supplement some of the minerals (Zinc, Selenium, etc.

Avatar m tn The concentration of cadmium in zinc-containing supplements can vary as much as 37-fold. Look for zinc-gluconate products. Zinc gluconate consistently contains the lowest cadmium levels." "Different salt forms provide different amounts of elemental zinc. Zinc sulfate contains 23% elemental zinc; 220 mg zinc sulfate contains 50 mg zinc. Zinc gluconate contains 14.3% elemental zinc; 10 mg zinc gluconate contains 1.43 mg zinc." http://www.nlm.nih.
2061362 tn?1353279518 Just curious. I am done with incivek, going on 2 weeks now. Has anyone used chlrophyll (liquid) during treatment, heard it can help with hgb. Also anyone use plant based enzymes as a digestive aid? My Dr.s good about my use of supplements but won't be in until Tuesday. then he'll have to research it and get back to me. Blah Blah.
2192208 tn?1346525832 I wish I could find a single or just a few supplements for thyroid support, as I really get tired of taking my handfuls of pills. There are some that I try never to skip, and when I'm neglectful I notice the difference. Have you been tested for Vit D and Vit B12 ? I was extremely deficient, in fact was diagnosed with pernicious anemia before I was diagnosed hypo, so I really notice if I skip those two, energy-wise.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have Hashimoto's and I would like advice regarding some supplements I want to take and if it's a good idea to take them now. The only reason I ask is really because my 6-week thyroid blood test is in two weeks' time and as I haven't taken any supplements since being on the 50mcg Levothyroxine I'm worried that by taking the supplements now the results of my thyroid blood test may be skewed.
Avatar n tn Research has shown supplements of vitamin A has not proved successful. Before you take supplements of any minerals/vitamins, such as zinc, suggest getting blood work first to see what your levels are. Taking too much zinc can lower your immune system. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar m tn If your zinc was too high that would explain the copper deficiency, as too much zinc leaches copper out of the body. The solution is to decrease your zinc intake. If it was just high but normal, then that probably isn't the problem. But if it's too high, again, you don't need to supplement copper, you need to decrease wherever the excess zinc is coming from. This is why zinc always has a warning about not taking too much.
20845029 tn?1532891465 Sometimes dark urine (orange colored) can be a sign of too much zinc- so if you just started the supplements and noticed a change- it wouldn't hurt, and I'd even encourage calling your doctor to make them aware of the change. Typically someone can take 300 mgs and it is fine, but each person is unique and I'd personally rather check out something like this then just ignore it.
506570 tn?1215836300 I have tried researching skin conditions in Malamutes and found a lot of information on zinc-responsive dermatosis in Alaskan Malamutes. I would love to know if anyone else is giving their dog zinc supplements and how you went about finding out that your dog has zinc-responsive dermatosis. I have spoken to my vet about this and they didn't seem to know a lot about it. Also, the dandruff flakes are on his sides and body in general.
12757438 tn?1433673730 The vet ran x-rays to find out that Belle had swallowed a coin and within a few hours was performing surgery to remove the coin since inducing vomiting did not successful dislodge the coin. The vet told me everything went well, she had actually gathered 3 quarters, a dime and a arcade token from inside her stomach, so I had to leave her over the weekend for observation and fluids. I agreed, however now Belle’s health keeps yo-yoing back and forth.
Avatar m tn ve investigated over the counter zinc supplements. They mostly seem to provide 15mg of elemental zinc in a tablet you can swallow whole. Would it be OK for me to buy some of those and give her three a day of them to replace the Solvazinc? If so, should she take them all at once, or spread through the day?
Avatar f tn By taking zinc supplements, you can stop cravings by satisfying your taste buds with an increased sense of taste in everything you eat. Cravings for sweets, chocolate and junk food can many times be attributed to a nutritional deficiency in some other area. Taking these supplements can help to stop cravings like these, but it would be better to make sure you receive the proper nutrition in everything you eat. Vitamin C Vitamin C is critical for the production of the hormone cortisol.
Avatar f tn m taking a mulit vitamin, zinc, B6, a mag/zinc/potassium combo, and L Tyrosine everyday. If I miss one day (or am late in taking the supplements) I can tell a difference in how I feel. Also, try drinking Muscle Milk to help with the amino acids. Great job on 1 months! You're well on your way!!
