1650642 tn?1301582117 Due to the risk and cost of treatment we decided to keep her on preventitive in hopes of stopping further growth and hopefully slowly killing the adults. This being said, she has had no change in diet... no change in behavior (happy, active, etc.) and no change in attitude. She has, however, started throwing up mucus. It has happened about the last 3 days once or twice in a day. There seems to be nothing other than a piece of grass or tiny speck of food in the mucus.

The Nuclear Safety person said that it's less time when you do Thyrogen since your body processes things fast when you're on your meds vs. being hypo. My scan only showed uptake in the Thyroid bed and my TSH is at a suppressed level and my Tg was "very low" according to my Endocrinologist.

Treatment much much more successful if started before age 7 The new studies were done on removing congenital cataracts not due to striabismus or aneisometrophia. The new research does not suggest that treatment is highly successful just some better.
Avatar f tn Don't waste time, go to your doc now! Or look up your neighborhood for the nearest free clinic and set up an appointment asap! (posting about this on the forum was like me posting about shingles on above my hip) No one could guess that because my age. (shocker it can occur in young adults too), and nobdy could make it go away either. I had to wait for 4+ hours at a free clinic but it was worth getting the right meds.

Avatar n tn She is now being doubled over w/pain in the lower abdomen, severe nausia, vomiting constantly, and bloody diarrhea. Over the past six weeks, she has been in the hospital 4 times - had 3 colonoscopy, upper GI, blood work, stomach biopsy, colon biospy. They determined that she has ischemic cholitis. The last colonoscopy said this condition was "healing nicely" but less than 1 week later she is back in the hospital - and worse than ever! She is weak, vomiting, diarrhea etc.

They do not even know if it is a problem primarily of the brain or of the gut.

Avatar n tn Last March I went to the doctor because I was having low grade fevers, muscle weakness, and flu-like aching. Blood tests showed normal CBC, LFT's, and electrolytes, positive ANA of 1:640, positive LKM1 antibodies, positive antibodies for prior EBV and CMV infection, high morning blood cortisol, negative anti-DNA, SSA, SSB, Scl-70, cardiolipin, negative hepatitis viruses, and normal 24 hr urine cortisol.
Avatar n tn I would take her to her physician as soon as you are able, it is certainly not healthy for her to keep coughing and vomiting. The coughing will hurt her insides if it is too strong and vomiting will prevent her from getting her much needed nutrients from food, etc. I really am not able to tell you what it is, it could be a number of things, and, as I said, it would be best if she saw a doctor. Please let me know the outcome, I know she must be miserable.

Prognosis really depends on a number of factors including present health at diagnosis and stage of disease. There are other factors to consider such as age, LDH levels, and whether it has spread to organs outside the lymph system. After doing a little research, it looks like the type of therapy he had is called Central Nervous System (CNS) Prophylaxis.
