Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting in older children

vomiting

Avatar f tn Does any one else have ungrateful and lazy older children? It is hard on my pregnancy with stress. My kids do not care how stressed they make me or how much I have to do to clean up after them. All I hear is I want this or that and dinner was not what I want so throw it away and make us each something different. I have one with a birthday in a week and two with birthdays in December.
Avatar f tn How much blood? If you are vomiting red blood you could have a bleeding ulcer and that is an emergency. I have had a tiny amount before and it was due to irritation in my throat. You should at least make an appointment with your physician. If you vomit red blood, become dizzy or faint or have black sticky stools you should go to the emergency room.
Avatar n tn Yes, these are all symptoms of type I diabetes in children. My child was wetting the bed, extremely thirsty all the time and was vomiting; his vomiting, we think, was contributed to a stomach virus he had at the time. We took him to the ER due to dehydration -they did a blood chemistry and his blood sugar was 399-they immediately admitted him to ICU and he was put on IV insulin. He's been a diabetic now for 3 years-he's now 9. He's has handled it amazingly well!
16362296 tn?1447294076 t been able to find much information or support as no one seems to have any understanding of what it is like dealing with. It expresses itself differently than in adults (though in some ways similar). We have been lucky to now have a service dog for him which has changed a lot of his life. Anyone out there going through this with their little one as well?
5624774 tn?1374284525 Hi everyone. I have 2 questions. I posted this in the breastfeeding forum too but since it doesn't get a lot of traffic, i thought id try here too. Ok so for question one, I am exclusively pumping and on top of feeding my youngest daughter, i have about 2000 oz in the freezer. I also have a 3.5 year old daughter who i stopped breastfeeding (also only pumped) at 1 year.
Avatar n tn t sound as lactose intolerance. Viral diarrhea (Rotavirus) is common in children younger than 5 years, and some immunity develops after that, so it would be unusual to have 4 consecutive bouts of diarrhea from the virus. What is the color and consistence of his stool? How many times a day? He is complaining (or you suspect) about school problems? Any abdominal pain, if yes, where exactly?
1039620 tn?1272594004 I am just curious how many of you ladies are having/had your older children in the delivery room while you gave birth. My son is only 3 1/2 and will not be there for the actual delivery, but will be for the early part of labor. He cannot stand to see me in pain so I won't be putting him through that. I know it depends on the age and the child itself, if they could handle it, but I am just wondering what other people have/had done or if you are considering it or not.
1194973 tn?1385503904 t speak from experience as a mother, but I have always wanted my children to be close in age. I am from a family of 5 and my older sister is only 11 months older. We have a very close relationship, while my relationship with my other sister who is 6 years older is very distant. I mean we get along and all, but it's nothing like that of my other sister.
Avatar f tn I know that eating disorders is being more and more recognized as not just being an issue for teens and young women as I have read more and more about it and my therapist says it is so very common in the older population as well. The only thing I can tell you is that your not alone and please seek some help. Your therapist can keep the fact that your seeking help for that issue very private. I am in help right now for several things but the eating disorder is certainly 1 of them.
Avatar m tn Just a quick question lol. Im 15 and sometimes in my life i get hit where it hurts the most lol. and i was wondering when im older if im able to have kids cause i hear ppl say if you get hit to much you cant. i wanted to see if that was true or not but every now and then ill get hit so i wondered if it was true.
Avatar f tn For your son's weight and height he is normal for his age which is good. At this age children do become 'picky' eaters. Children learn by example. If they see you eat healthy, they will eventually eat healthier. For example if the rest of the family eats salads, vegetables, and fruit and he see it every day, eventually he may try some. There is hope in the future. Mealtimes can be a battlefield when children do not have an interest to eating healthy or eat very little.
Avatar f tn maybe puree his food if its hard for him to eat ,the fever should go down soon.,if he is still vomiting in 24 hours I think you should take him back to see the doctor ,Good luck hope hes better soon .
Avatar f tn They actually say younger cold ten take it much better than older children. Older kids usually get scared because they don't know what is going on. I think if you want to have your kids with you that is fine but make sure you have someone to watch them and take them out of the room if you or them become uncomfortable.
Avatar f tn It does feel really overwhelming at first, but it all works itself out. Age of the older sibling plays a role too, older they are the less they constantly need your help. When my second was born my first was 18 months old.
Avatar f tn It is possible I have two older children one is 7 and the other 4 and it seems like I have them at the Dr all the time either sick to their stomach or some bad congested cough it's not bad parenting and it might not be some underlining problem bc my kids haven't had any they have just been sick which it's been worse since they have been in school but still happened before
Avatar f tn I'm being seeing this guys for over a year. his in his 40th, I'm a younger woman, with kids. He has no kids, nor have he ever being marriage, I'm starting to think he has committment issue, It seem like ever time he gets close to me, he'll pull away from, I know as a COP his committed to his jobs, but it has to be more to life than just being a COP. I know he cares about me & my kids. But I don't understand him being hot one moment, than cold the next.
Avatar f tn So I have two other kids besides the one I am baking. I am only 6 weeks along. My other children have become overly clingy the past few weeks.they are 4 & 2. Normally they are very independent and never like to cuddle or get hugs. I can not get them off my lap. Every time I sit, they are both on me almost immediately or hanging on my legs when I walk. I love the attention but I am start in to get scared they are going to trip me eventually. Anyone else notice this with their older kids?
Avatar f tn Many ladies in their 40's had their first baby and did great. Since this is your 3rd pregnancy you are at advantage already. Congratulations on your pregnancy and enjoy the expetrience!
Avatar n tn Thanks for responding to my question. My boyfriend stopped by my house on his way home from work and said he hadn't eaten his 2 breakfast cookies (milk bones) but that he did ran downstairs to great him and seemed a lot happier and was outside playing with our two little dogs. Hopefully it was just some tummy trouble. I'll know more when I get home from work. I made an appointment to take him to the vet tomorrow just in case. Keeping my fingers crossed...
