Avatar m tn My dog was vomiting mucus several times a day so I took him to the vet who took 2 xrays, blood and determined he had allergies. She gave him antibiotics, prilosec, benedryl and something else for his stomach which he took for a week. I stopped them after a week and he is throwing mucus up again. I have spent $500. so far. What can i do?
1624990 tn?1299290524 I have been searching for years, and have not been able to fine a Chiari expert in our area. I have heard, however, that some times Drs will see patients pro bono in certain situations. I am currently making contacts with Congressman Alan Nunnelee, to ask him to help my daughter be able to receive adequate health care. Mississippi Medicaid simply does NOT provide adequate health care to special needs kids. It's just wrong! There just aren't many options.
991102 tn?1249288499 I am just nervous I guess. I had the spot compression done last week but no word yet. I sent my films to my primary Dr. in GA to look at. Thank you again for your words of encouragement!
Avatar f tn Thanks for your input - I just had the MRI with contrast last Friday and was told the results yesterday. I did not see the films myself though the neurologist looked at the films in another room while I was there. I have an appointment back with my regular physician who will be given the findings of the neurologist (they are in the same medial center). I will look up all the information I can find on your diagnosis and have plenty of questions next week at my appointment.
Avatar n tn I have been going for follow up mamograms and ulstrasounds on my left breast every six months for over two years. At each appointment, it is discovered that the calcifications in my left breast continue to increase and there is one area of concern that is always circled on my films. I now have an appointment for a surgicial consultation as a 2nd set of hands, eyes and opinion. What can I expect and if this doctor is not worried, should I be?
Avatar f tn What state did you have your surgeries done in? and if in PA (or near by states) what facility/hosp. did you have them done at? Just want to make sure I avoid them at all cost. What questions should I ask once I get to the neurologist after hearing him or her out?
867582 tn?1311627397 800 different views on my MRI films and 10 minutes that the neuro spends with me per appointment = not enough time to review the films. My neuro will just read the current radiologist report which I have already seen and feel is totally misleading and invalid. The radiologist concludes "there is no abnormal signal on the cord" - yet I can clearly see that several views on my spinal MRI reveal bright, well-demarcated blips (lesions?) on the cord.
1312898 tn?1314568133 ) I think radiologists rush through these films and only write down what they see in the first 2 minutes or less and don't go any further than they have to. The bad part is that they put this in a report that a lazy neuro would just read and take as gospel not bother looking at the films him/herself. If you have a lazy neuro then you definitely made a good decision to get this looked at again. Missing the CM, that is pretty interesting.
Avatar f tn I doubt your additional films is to see if the area has changed. These films will be concentrated on the suspicious area and involve some magnification. Often these areas will disappear on magnification or spot compression films. Whether it is an issue will be clarified when your next films are taken and read. There is no way to speculate at this point. Regards ....
Avatar f tn One of which is an anti nausea but he gave it to me in a pill form. So if I am nauseous or vomiting a pill is not even going to work. So I don't know what to do. I am so confused.
Avatar f tn He didnn't have the mammo films or the ultrasound. I had to go alone, as my husband is in the same hospital. He wanted me to show him where I thought the lump was. He basically told me nothing seemed out of the ordinary. **Then he called last night and told me that the lab that did the ultrasound is going to do a biopsy on the outer lateral ---that's all I remember. Can't find the paper, and need to get back to the hospital with my husband.
Avatar m tn Hello, I need help identifying changes that has occurred in the brain. I have uploaded side by side pics of the scans on Googledocs: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1nhHyft5KuqAKSdyg8GYsWtMDjrcFfdyojrPhq3XHnDM/edit We are in discussion with the NS, but he is unsure if what we are seeing is a regrowth of a colloid cyst. There are other changes in the brain that may be the cause of symptoms which include personality changes, headaches etc...
1491043 tn?1288393507 s had 2 surgeries and they were botched. He is still in need of a third surgery and is completely bed-ridden and in chronic pain daily. He is on SS disability. There are no doctors where we live and no one here will see him because they are afraid of malpractice suits since he was mis-diagnosed so many times and his first two surgeries were botched. Anyway, long story short. I don't know how to live with this.
Avatar n tn Hi.. actually my wife is 9 weeks n 3 days pregnant n today she had blood in vomiting.. is this common or anything serious.... Please suggest..
Avatar f tn The best way to take the films in such a situation is to draw a line with a ball-point pen and tape another needle to the surface of the knee, directly over the line. Then the same is done with another needle on another axis. After the shots are taken the needles on the surface of the skin are removed, but the pen lines remain. When the fil;m is developed this till enable the physician to precisely determine the depth and position of the fragment.
680984 tn?1241641032 So, as many of you know, I have been getting ready to go to see the Chiari NS spec on Monday. In prep for this appt, I went to pick up all of the films I have had done for the past 7 years. Just out of curiousity, I read the reports that had been written that went with my films. There wasn't a report with the 2000 report, but this is what the 2005 said: "Patient has low lying cerebellar tonsils but in my opinion does not meet the criteria for Chiari 1 malformation".
Avatar f tn On December 25th I began vomiting ,had diarrhea and had pains in my right lower back and front of my abdomen , i went to the doctor and he suspected appendicitis.I was admitted to hospital that night , the doctors there were suspecting either appendicitis or a ruptured cyst on my ovary.I was given a CT scan and it showed nothing in my bowels , kidneys or appendix. Instead it showed swelling in my right urethra.
1431752 tn?1283340458 He told me they were concerned because they found many more spots in my breast films today then were there in June!!?? No other info was given to me ~NONE~so I am Worried!
