Avatar n tn First, as an antiemetic, Metoclopramide stops nausea and vomiting. You mentioned that you get nausea and vomiting. If you do not already have an antiemetic in your acute treatment plan, then you should speak to your doctor about adding one in. If your doctor prescribes you an antiemetic, usually you are supposed to take it at the same time as your first-line medication.
Avatar f tn About 3 days ago she experienced and severe headache in the right temple area. Blurred/lost vision, black outs, and vomiting shortly followed. She has had it occur several times a day since, with exception of the vomiting. Each time she gets this pain she has trouble seeing, especially in the right eye and has frequent ringing in her her.
Avatar n tn I have not had any more headaches until last night, when I experienced a similar headache. This time, I did not have any vision problems, but I did experience vomiting after about 5 hours. I only vomited once and then was able to fall asleep and slept through the night. Upon awakening this morning, I found that my headache was gone with only a slight lingering feeling of pain.

Avatar m tn What I would be worried about is stroke. Can she talk normally? Is she confused? If you ask her to repeat a sentence does she slur her words or does it sound normal? Does she have a bad headache? Can she lift the arm that is numb? If she can't talk normally or can't lift her arm and so forth then she may be having a stroke and you have to take her into the Emergency Room right away. Diabetes can increase her risk for a stroke as well and also peripheral neuropathy or nerve damage.
Avatar f tn A friend of mine just had an endoscopic cervical discectomy and as a result suffered a vertebral artery occlusion. Less than 24 hours after being released from the hospital he experienced dizziness, weakness in his right side and numbness in his face. He returned to the ER where they admitted him and performed an MRI that showed the occlusion. Basically, he had a mini stroke or tia but Dr's said no damage to the cerebellum. He was released and ordered to take aspirin.

Avatar n tn I am a 52 yr. old female and have CM's and have had a mild stroke from a CM. It's good that you went to the ER and they treated you like a stroke victim, I believe they did the right thing at the hospital in treating you. It's hard to tell the difference between a CM and stroke. They can have the same symptoms. I do not smoke, have never been on Valtrex and have had a tubal. Don't know how shingles would come into play, that would be for a dr. to say.

Avatar f tn Hi there. Boy, that makes it rough. Here is a link to drugs in the antiplatelet class. https://www.heartandstroke.ca/heart-disease/treatments/medications/antiplatelet-medications There is a third in the class of medications to try. I would work very closely with your doctor on this. I hope the third is better tolerated. A risk to benefit ratio needs to be done otherwise. Can you manage the side effects? Can dosing be changed? Do they get better as the body is used to the medication?

In time, the blood vessel often relaxes and goes back to normal. However, further evaluation may be indicated to determine the cause and you may need to take stronger prescription medications.
