Avatar n tn A few things: too much bile in the stool (could indicate a future upcoming gallbladder issue a few years down the line), decreased colonic transit time, so that the stool doesn't have time to change colors. Some food colorings and certain vegetables will cause stools to be green. Really, green is about the most un-worrysome color for stools to turn. If you're worried, talk to a doc, but you're probably just fine.
Avatar f tn Vegetables are very important! Especially dark green leafy vegetables and broccoli. If you're not eating your vegetables, you likely have a nutritional deficiency. It's good you're addressing it now, though, because as you age, this becomes more and more important. You're about to enter puberty, so these vegetables are even more important when you start menstruating.

If this is not the cause, then the stool is passing out of the large intestine at a very rapid rate so the bile does not break down. This can happen if you have malabsoroption syndromes (you have IBS and this could have got aggravated). Another reason is a diet rich in sugars.

Avatar f tn For example if the rest of the family eats salads, vegetables, and fruit and he see it every day, eventually he may try some. There is hope in the future. Mealtimes can be a battlefield when children do not have an interest to eating healthy or eat very little. It becomes the battle of the wits between the child and the parents. Avatar m tn But it’s important to eat the same amount of these foods each week to help keep your INR stable. This is because green leafy vegetables (e.g. spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts) are rich in vitamin K, which can affect your INR. Don’t avoid vitamin K-rich foods completely — vitamin K is essential to our health. Studies show that eating regular, consistent amounts of vitamin K-rich foods is better for maintaining a stable INR, than not eating them at all, or eating varying amounts.
